...clean out the freezer and make a meal plan to use everything up before December.

I hope you don't mind me starting this thread this year @beautifulsunflowers I absolutely loved this last year. I watched from afar and followed along doing one thing everyday to spread the cost, time, energy and Christmas cheer throughout November and December.

What is one thing you plan to do today to get organised?

Decorated the boys bedrooms. They are both home from uni soon so have tidied their bathroom and added some decorations. Need to wash all their bedding and add a christmas throw in prep for them returning as the cat likes to sleep on either bed whenever he so chooses.

Apparently I'll wrap the majority of the presents while I'm lolling about feeling sorry for myself. Only planned to do a few but there aren't many so got them all done (apart from ones I know the girls will want to help with).

& I'm just about to deyhdrate some orange slices for cake decoration too 😊

Present shopping officially finished this morning (now must resist twitching!)

Two parcels to wrap, which I will do now, and then they can go to the post office tomorrow.

Went to buy my tree from a garden nursery nearby. I've got it soaking in a bucket outside for now. Put the other decorations up, will do the tree tonight with ds.

Not so much I but we are all just back from getting a fraiser fir and carrying home.

Will sit in water outside until we can decorate together, maybe tomorrow, maybe weekend.

We like to build up slowly to Christmas, should be twinkling and decorated by Tuesday, maybe. It's a work in progress.

The plan is to have all presents purchased, cards and presents to post sent off by then. The rest can be delivered on foot.

All the cards were posted yesterday.

Today, I'm aiming on purchasing the last two (online) gifts (both subscriptions).

I'm also aiming on doing the majority of the wrapping for the DC and DH if he'll stay out of the room

Plus, a lunch date with DH to the Christmas market.

Got the last cards written yesterday evening so those will be posted today. I have also taken advantage of an early wake up today to order some treats for delivery to far-flung relatives, which should arrive by 23rd.

I really could do with auditing the Christmas cupboard and freezer and making sure we have a plan to actually get through all the food...

New to this thread but been following along for a while! Feel as though I've accomplished a few things from the list today. Have fully carpet cleaned upstairs (wanted to get it done before kids break up next week) and finished the kids Christmas gifts today. Also sorted a plan for Christmas day with DH as he has work first thing.

I've finished wrapping everything apart from the girls' gifts for their dad & their gifts for each other. We'll do that together a couple of afternoons next week.

I've also rescued the tree from the kittens several million times & put some thought into a gift for my best friend. I've not decided yet what to get her.

DH wrote cards for neighbours and his family. I’m completely unmotivated this week 🤦‍♀️ still need to buy a Christmas card for DH and wrap presents.

4 working days left for me just need to survive today

I have 2 families of friends to wrap for + the children need to wrap up their present to each other.

Am waiting for the last 2 presents to arrive in the post.

The main thing I think I'll do today, will be sot down in my lunch break with the food/drink shopping list from last year, and work out what I need to get. Then, split it into drinks/dry food/fruit and veg/dairy/meat/last minute.

I tend to use different shops for each, so have 2 days next week to do all the shopping, bar the last minute things.

Going to pick up last of presents today. That’s 3 boxes of chocolates and a voucher. Then think I’m done for everyone except myself 😗 Need some more bits for stockings and need to get myself a couple of bits from some cash my nana gave me. I’m making myself a little pamper kit with like nice new lipstick, nail polish, face mask etc.

Will take dd2 to do a big shop at Asda and pick stuff up. Still got everyone outside immediate family to wrap but might do that this weekend whilst dh can watch dd2. I’m working all weekend on late shifts so only have mornings available.

Today DH has been out delivering the cards to the neighbours and also a small gift for thr two closest and most lovely ones.

I sorted my Secret Santa gift too - right on budget 😊.

Tree is bought and up!

Today I have put the tree up in the dining room, made stuffing balls for the freezer and blanched and frozen the carrots and parsnips.

Starting to feel ahead of the game.

Accidentally put the oven on with my friend's dad's Christmas cake inside & frazzle it 🙈

I've cut off the burnt bits but am not entirely sure about the whole cake now if anyone has any thoughts??

Stab it with a knitting needle, all over, then give it a medicinal drink of brandy. Repeat, in a few days time.

Today I went to Costco and bought this little beauty for Christmas day. I didn't realise till I saw it I've never actually come across figgy pudding before and rather looking forward to it

Do you think the rest will be ok? It's currently sat in a tin, in my microwave (which definitely won't be used 🙈)!

DS(6) had D&V yesterday so frantically spraying anti bac on everything and praying norovirus isn’t going to rip through the house again this Christmas.
Defrosting the freezer and clearing the fridge in preparation for a new fridge delivery on Wednesday (when hopefully there’s an adult still able to answer the door) 😕
