Is it always as early as this? Admittedly, I am planning to make the Christmas cake and mincemeat over the weekend.

I would have said October. It probably varies across the country. I think you get it earlier if you have a Smart Pass, as I have (midweek variety).

I didn't have one last year as we were abroad but in 22 I booked it on 2nd October so maybe I just imagined it being much later

I don't know where I will be at Christmas this year as a family member's health may mean myself and my family have to do Christmas at their house instead of mine.

If I place an order (with the minimum £90 spend) at both places would I be able to cancel one without penalty when I know where we will be?

Shouldn't be a problem. Set a reminder to delete the unnecessary one by the limit, though! Every year, around 21st December, we hear from someone who reserved a Christmas slot in a hurry by just putting a very expensive bottle of champagne in her basket, but forgot to go back and edit later.

How do i book it?

We got our email today saying we can book next week.
It was around this time last year I think.
I've already started making a list!

They'll email or text a day or so before slots open telling you the opening time and date. You book a slot as soon as possible after that. They usually fill up pretty fast. There's usually a special icon or something for booking Christmas slots.

I haven’t got one yet. But last year so much was missing from my delivery, the delivery was late and I had to go to the shops anyway - so I’m not bothered.

I have an email telling me I’m going to get an email tomorrow with dates. I’m in London.

I've had an email saying I can book tomorrow too, and giving me the voucher code for free delivery in the Christmas week.

I'm confused...I've had the email saying they are open this week but nothing since. On the app I've got the gold star to say book your Christmas slot now but when I click it it says calendar not available?

It's always around this time of year, I got my email yesterday and booked the Christmas slot at 00.02, they fill up fast.
