Just signed up for the beer52 box! How easy is it to cancel after the free box? Don’t fancy the £27 a month charge 😂

DH tried ringing to cancel his several times and they kept luring him back in with special offers. The magic words in the end were "I've stopped drinking" and they immediately cancelled!

MrsPadhd · 01/09/2024 23:36

Beer 52 - I got the advent hamper for DH and DB last year and after a few days/drinks they realised the beer was giving them the runs 💩

I wasn't convinced so had the next days from dh's calendar and yes I got it too.
Not sure if a coincidence that we both had an 'off' box but just be wary if you have important things at work the next day and can't keep nipping to the loo!

I keep trying to order the Valentte mega box that someone recommended, the first time money didn't even leave my account. Tried again in the evening and I was charged then refunded minutes later. It still shows as available on the website, has anyone else had trouble with it? Is it unavailable?

i tried a couple of days ago and it kept disappearing from my bag, I gave up in the end.

Dear God. My fault for clicking on the wrong link, but people are buying for Christmas... from August??! Mental.

Where do you think the best place to get the Laneige lip baslms is?
Feel in love with them last year, after seeing them on here.

There’s a website called Notino which was recommended here last year, I’ve bought a few things from there since. I haven’t bought these lip balms but the site often do discounts so definitely worth a look

GardenNovice567 · 02/09/2024 04:19

Hi sorry to randomly jump on (I’m never normally doing any Xmas planning this early but circumstances this year mean I’m trying to get organised asap). Does anyone know if the cheaper (£8-15) Lego sets usually go in the Boots 3for2 offer please? I’m after a few of the Marvel/Star Wars/Disney etc sets and at the moment they’re in the 15% baby and toys offer but I wonder if I should hold out to see if they go in the 3for2. However there are already some Xmas 3for2 offers on there and Lego isn’t currently included but not sure if it’s too early for everything to be listed yet?
thanks!

sorryiasked · 02/09/2024 06:19

@GardenNovice567 can't help re boots but have you checked that the sets you want are not already in the argos / amazon offers?

@Bogginsthe3rd careful, I stumbled in here a few weeks ago with a similar mindset, got completely sucked in and have all but finished my shopping...

I did the free box for my DDad last year, and then carried it on for a few months, as I couldn't pack much for his Christmas presents.

The boxes were brilliant, he also really enjoyed the magazine that came with it. He also enjoyed that he kept getting presents in the post! I did feel that yes, it was worth £27 a month, but would have loved a half box option.

I had to phone up to cancel though. The chap on the line did offer several tempting reasons to stay (next two boxes at £10 each, iirc), so might be worth phoning up when you want to cancel, you might get a few more boxes at a discount.

If you buy 4 promotional bird's-eye packs in one go, upload your receipt to Bird's-eye, you can then choose a full size board game for just the delivery price of £3.50. There's monopoly, family trivial pursuit, twister, guess who etc.

I took the opportunity to stock up on frozen peas but you could buy chips, frozen veg, fish fingers etc for your freezer!

My little pony musical mane melody playset £6.80 at Amazon, currently £44.99 elsewhere. It's really big, a nice filler for any my little pony fans.

Could you link please? Can't find it!

JumpOrBePushed3 · 02/09/2024 07:36

What age would you say that my little pony toy is for? I'm used to boys stuff...😂😂

DD is almost 5 and loves it. Probably 3-6ish?

The amazon page says 'manufacturer recommends 3 years and up' but it's going to depend on your flavour kid. All those little parts I still wouldn't trust my oldest with, they'd be lost in 5 minutes. But the little one is actually pretty diligent about taking care of things, and can be trusted not to put things up her nose so....gonna vary I guess!

Hello! I was here the year of Robert and he is still happily sitting on dd’s bed!
I am keen to get a yoto mini but it would be for a 6 year old. Could anyone advise if it is still worth it at that age, please? Quite a lot of Toyo titles seem to be aimed at pre-schoolers? Thanks!

Yes, definitely worth it at 6!

Yep.

Saves the stress, hassle and rush and expense of going round shops/last minute ordering in December.

Plus I've just bought a fair few kids birthday party presents for £3-5 each, instead of paying £10-15 for them! Saves a lot of money when invited to class parties (45 in year!)
