Decision time - the normal one or the international one. No contents revealed yet.

I think I’m going for the standard one , we normally use everything in it eventually, and pass on the couple of bits that really aren’t for us . They haven’t offered a discount on the international one either . I could be swayed though if the contents get revealed any time soon .

IlovePond · 10/09/2024 21:31

@JumpOrBePushed3 at least one of the L’Occitane a/cs was reduced last year. I think it was M&S that kept giving 20% off the £69 version, but maybe also Boots.

I think M&S reduced it in their 20% off certain beauty products this year as well, but that promotion has finished atm.

JumpOrBePushed3 · 10/09/2024 21:43

Thanks @IlovePond I've been looking at previous reviews and lots of people commenting that you only get shower gels and soaps. I'm so torn between this, the Macmillan one on offer at boots ATM (albeit it has a lot of products I have used before) and the degusta one which is beautifully unpredictable!! I've only purchased the degusta one once and got some great choccie bits and some pasta, and then a box of salt and some gravy juice 🤣🤣 I'm still tempted because the mystery is so appealing and the laughs when you open it

IlovePond · 10/09/2024 21:56

I know what you mean @JumpOrBePushed3 - I like L’Occitane and almost bought their set of four crackers the other day as LF had 20% off them, but all contained a hand cream and I have loads of it already. They would make great presents, though.

Have been tempted by the Dégusta one myself!

Tuyouyou · 10/09/2024 23:02

I had the degusta last year, I had it displayed next to my vogue advent calendar and everyone commented on the degusta. I gave away some bits but overall we enjoyed it. Although one product was damaged (no wrapper) I did email them but they never responded, I wouldn't become a subscriber due to the lack of customer service but I could be tempted to get the calendar as the kids enjoyed it. They did release the contents last year bit no idea when that was or if they will this year. I do need to see the contents before I buy. I've absolutely no clue what the international one is, I thought it perhaps meant international shipping!

Another post from me.

Yesterday in TK Maxx I found a box of MINI magnetic Picasso tiles. They're a little travel sized set.

DS2 loves all his magnet tiles and plays with them so much. This little set will be fab for popping in a bag or case and playing with on the go. The tiles are smaller than the standard size ones.

They were £6.99 in TK Maxx, I can't find them in stock anywhere in the UK but the USA price seems to be $14.99 so seems like a good bargain!

These look amazing. Were there many left? If they don't have them in my local tk maxx would you be willing to post me a set please? Happy to cover all costs (obviously!)

Starabella · 10/09/2024 23:55

Look fantastic have 20% off some of their sol de janeiro gift sets, £30 down to £24.

MerylSqueak · 11/09/2024 06:39

That's a really good Boots deal on the Macmillan advent calendar. £44 down front £90 plus if you spend £60 you get £10 worth of points.

Random but smiffys have got piñatas reduced to £3.99

We got the (hideous!) iridescent unicorn one for DD’s birthday this year and it went down a storm, can thoroughly recommend!

hby9628 · 11/09/2024 09:19

@ClaraLane what sort of stuff is in the piñatas?

hby9628 · 11/09/2024 09:20

Actually is that a daft question...do they need filling?

@Babynumberthreeee not the exact ones but there are some sets online. Search magformers - TK Maxx UK that look great.

Argos have got a pretty good toy sale on, includes paw patrol, lego, hot wheels, bluey and lots more. Plus, there's 5x nectar points on selected toys.

I emailed Game last week asking for an update and giving my order number, and have received a full refund.

(I ordered on 26 August.)

That is so frustrating, I ordered on the 25th and I haven't had a single reply to my emails! I've gone on twitter, I can't find any numbers that work... Not giving up though!

ProbablyOnlySellOne · 11/09/2024 10:18

This thread prompted me to start looking for advent calendars. In my search I came across this games bundle at Toy Dip. £25 for 6 games which I thought was a great deal. Some are just cards and I don't know how good the games are but it includes Exploding Minions which I know was mentioned earlier and also a Harry Potter game.

https://toydip.com/collections/bundles/products/games-bundle

Also found a Matchbox cars advent calendar on Toy Dip for £14.99. There are two to choose from but one has a code - CLEAR20 - which takes it down to £12.

Thanks for this, I've just bought for my friend. If anyone's buying check your advantage card offers to load. I had one for double points if I spent £30.

Anyone had any updates from Clarins?

Anyone had any updates from Clarins?

Money was taken from my PayPal on 9th, but I've had no dispatch confirmation, no cancellation and no notification of any packages en route from any of the couriers.
Currently hoping that someone knocks on the door with a package <hopeful face>

I’m hoping the same!

hby9628 · 11/09/2024 11:29

Clarins outcome is the same for me. I would have expected if they were going to cancel it would have been done by now

GermanBite · 11/09/2024 11:37

The Clarins order confirmation said orders are normally dispatched in 5-7 days so we probably won't get anything until the end of the week.
