Anyone ordered from studio before and are they any good? Thanks

Just a word of warning about zavvi - I ordered Lego for my ds last from them last year and it didn’t arrive…..I had to cancel the order and order elsewhere at a higher price.
i think you’d be ok ordering now as it’s ages until Christmas but if you want it sooner or order nearer to Christmas then beware!

I had the same experience

sunshineandrain82 · 25/08/2024 14:53

I've always brought Lego from Zavvi or IWOOT.
They are the same company. Although I find Zavvi seems to have their prices are higher.

The hut also is part of them. Generally they have same/similar sales. Especially with Lego.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/08/2024 15:04

Does anyone remember the IWOOT blender which never arrived?! Took ages to get a refund.

hby9628 · 25/08/2024 15:37

I've ordered from studio many of times. Last time was just a couple weeks ago. Good prices but they don't often do free delivery so need to factor in the £4.99
Also be aware sometimes some things are dispatched and shipped separately. My last order came in 3 different shipments

hby9628 · 25/08/2024 15:46

Also zuru max Lego with 20% off. Same as the entertainer. My DD got the fire station down to £24.

D20 · 25/08/2024 16:06

Cute terrariums @hby9628

I’m not feeling as inspired as usual this time of year but I would have liked to have made a serious start by September. I’ve done a list and most things I’ll be just waiting for a big discount before I do decide to order which might not be until Black Friday. Fewer and fewer young kids to buy for with each passing year!

TheGriffle · 25/08/2024 17:09

Laredoute have a flash sale on for the next 6 hours. Just bought Dd1’s bag for secondary school for under £18 (excluding delivery). Adidas black and gold 27 litre so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will be ok! Cheapest I could find through googling. Signed up to the mailing list and got extra discount off as well, think it was 30% off full price and 10% off sale prices.

Arthien · 25/08/2024 17:47

Tiger who came to tea puzzle book back down to £1.50!

recklessgran · 25/08/2024 18:12

10 years since Robert? Oh gosh surely not - I've also been here since the beginning too. This thread has been a big part of our family Christmases and I have saved a small fortune over the years. We've shared codes, got and sent stuff to the desperate, given away freebies to help others and generally spread Christmas cheer. So heartwarming. This year we are expecting a DGD due on 22nd December so I'm wondering if she'll appear in time to be a threadbaby!

@Sideorderofchips yes, got it in one - don't underestimate how much we all appreciate all the effort you and @Reastie put into the nation's Christmases!

IlovePond · 25/08/2024 18:37

Thanks so much to you @Reastie and @Sideorderofchips and all contributors - I was on the thread last year, (NC since), and appreciate all the tips. I am so impressed that the thread has been going on so long! (Who or what is Robert, btw? If you don’t mind me asking!)

On an unrelated note: Aromatherapy Associates have 25% off until tomorrow with code BANK25 and a free gift if you spend £65+.

Also, not Xmassy, but my local Aldi had a huge stack of those everyways pans that people were going crazy for earlier in the year. I got a blue one as I had FOMO from last time 😹

whizpoppingcreature · 25/08/2024 18:42

I think I really want to get my son this Bluey house set but it's current not available (or £120 from third party seller) on Amazon, and £100 on eBay. Annoyingly, I'm sure I saw it very early on this year for about £70 in Costco, it's currently not on their website however. Has anyone got it and would recommend, or know of it cheaper elsewhere? Do you think it would come down in price for black Friday? Already done loads of his Christmas shopping, done really, so not really wanting to spend much more let alone c.£100 - but I just think he'd love this!

@IlovePond Robert was a giant sized bargainous soft toy [someone might be along to correct me but a unicorn I think]. My lot were already too old for him but he definitely made at least one thread title and had a massive following.

Edited

Robert is a hugely oversized cuddly unicorn (it's HUGE!) that quite a few of us got (was that rally ten years ago?!). We've still got our Robert in the loft! DD loved it and we had a giant Robert and a couple of years later found a slightly smaller (but still big) Robert in Home Bargains, so we have two matching ones! I can't remember who came up with the name Robert and why, but it's stuck with ours. My DD used Robert as her pillow for years.

IlovePond · 25/08/2024 18:48

Thanks for clearing that up @recklessgran and @Reastie - I had visions of some anti Xmas bargain hunting troll called Robert 😹

TryingToHelpBut · 25/08/2024 18:57

Evening all, also been here since the start (I think) certainly remember Robert. I never seem to find many bargains for you all- it's actually one of my autumn missions every year!
Just wondered if anyone has seen any Christmas themed stuff irl. I thought I had finished the Xmas uni boxes but nephew has decided to go last minute and it's a bit of a tradition of mine to send them off with a wrapped box to open in November. So far I've found sone Xmas chocs/advent/xmas air freshener. Looking for Christmas cheap ish bits to add like mug/shower gel/mini tree sort of thing. If anyone sees anything, I'd love a heads up. They have to take them mid sept.
Normally I'd get stiff in the January sales.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 25/08/2024 19:01

@TryingToHelpBut if you've a Home Bargains nearby, they have started their displays and definitely had Christmas mugs out in ours.

recklessgran · 25/08/2024 19:04

Home Bargains had just started putting Christmas stock out when I was in there on Friday - only a small section but I bet within a week it will be full on. They also had half an aisle of Halloween bits.
I've got a £7 off a £75 spend expires 29th August if anyone wants it.

recklessgran · 25/08/2024 19:05

Sorry the £7 off £75 is for Argos!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/08/2024 19:10

Normally I'd get stiff in the January sales. 🙈🙈 typo. @Reastie, we've a contender for the first thread title! Xmas Grin
