Just a warning on Lottie Brook books / yoto cards, they cover boyfriends, periods, snogging and talk about Father Christmas not being real, they are amazing books and both DDs love them but when DD was 8 she still believed.

NotAdultingToday · 16/08/2024 09:01

Argos code is now gone 😇

Thank you both, our beloved yoto charger died and I was tempted to but a new cable but at £30 thought a mini would be better for our 8yr old I've just bought yoto mini, case and 5 cards. They've just released Lottie Brooks as cards and Harry Potter is rumored soon. Could've done with this on holiday.

Harry Potter peeked my interest. We have to original but ended up getting 3 minis last year for travelling.
The original now sits not being used.
It reminds me to find the box and sell it.

We use the toro club as well and couldn't fault it. It's surprising how quickly the tokens rack up. One of our minis was brought using the tokens last year.

Though they have just changed the club so shall see if I down grade it or keep it as it is now.

Elbone · 16/08/2024 10:21

I’ve just looked at the Yoto club and it looks like they’re making big changes over the next month and aren’t taking on new subscribers until it’s all ready to relaunch 17th September.
I’m embarrassingly excited for this.
I also have my M&S Christmas food order opening date on my calendar.

🙈🙈

Georgieporgie29 · 16/08/2024 10:22

I have a £6 off £60 spend at Argos if anyone would like it?

What's the opening date of the M&S food order? I can't find anything online, but am assuming it will be around 26th September like last year.

I’ve got it on as the 27th for me to check this year. I always get a good time slot.

any spots or suggestions for adult advent calendar’s OR mini gifts to fill the tiny drawers of a wooden chest calendar I already have.

just to make it impossible harder, no jam, no candles and no bath products. It’s for a 91 year old, disabled, housebound relative.

Posh chocs, handmade or similar, 1 in each drawer.

Mixed in with sweets that they like such as liquorice type things they don’t buy often maybe?

Mini bottles of alcohol if they like a tipple?

Voucher for a film on Amazon or Sky for example

Joe and Stephanie flavoured popcorn

Scratchcards

Little plant, like a mini cactus or something

  • fancy teabags or hot chocolates

Lip balm or hand crème? MIL is housebound (spends most o her day in bed) but gets dry lips and hands so likes those. Also wrist warmers and a nice fabric handkerchief.

virgocatlover · 16/08/2024 11:04

My Lush delivery has arrived - a big box and lots of packaging for a tiny bath bomb. It was hard to find it Grin

What date is M&S? They go earlier and earlier each year!

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 16/08/2024 11:16

@virgocatlover same 🤣 and my Minecraft creeper looks like it's had a wild night out and woke up in a gutter, but I can deal with the smudged face seeing as it was a bargain 😁

starbright92 · 16/08/2024 11:50

2 for £20 on lego sets at Argos that retail for £18. Seems a good deal, just bought 2.

sunshineandrain82 · 16/08/2024 11:53

Boots have just released their advent calendars.
With my student discount and boots points. That should work out free for me.

QueenOfWeeds · 16/08/2024 13:10

@Buildabearbunny DH gets a tea light in his every year (after he said “what’s the point of the tiny drawers? You can’t fit anything bigger than a tea light in”). You could get LED ones for safety, and maybe some nice little glass votives or similar as an extra gift, or if a few of the boxes are bigger?

Would tiny soap samples fit in?

Tegridyfarms · 16/08/2024 13:14

Pammela2 · 15/08/2024 21:42

I accidentally bought from this site without checking too! I emailed immediately to cancel with order number and they did cancel immediately.

I ended up getting the order too and it is definitely not as advertised; cheap, factory jewellery.

email them asap!

Hi, Just wanted to say thanks again. I received an email today confirming my refund, and the same from Paypal. It takes up to 10 days to receive the funds so I need to keep an eye out for that.

😄Yes the tiny drawers are infuriating! I’ve bought things before thinking surely they are small enough to fit and they don’t!

i make a real effort with these as I think they break the time up for her. I’ve done a jigsaw one (made up by me), little enamel Christmas symbols, scratch cards… I might look at Temu and off brand lego…

We cheat now, and have a small gift bag with wrapped things in, and number them - I reckon about 60% of last year’s ended up in the bag 🙈 because they were too big. Every year when we pack them away DH threatens that “next year everything has to fit inside” but then he runs out of ideas and the gift bags resurface.

I lovingly decoupaged a Works wooden drawer calendar!

l have these in my Temu bag - they are £4.15 and I can distribute across a few drawers

I’m a member but haven’t had this email. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if the £3 increase it worth it by a wider range of cards.

Thank you for the Argos Lego tip. I bought two of those. Great find.

Sideorderofchips · 16/08/2024 14:30

My lush arrived today as well. It's gone in the wardrobe in its box 😂

Some places have their Christmas stuff online now, ie superdrug and boots. You just need to search gifts
Mainly this is so they can drop the prices when launched as for them to be reduced they must have been available for a certain number of days at full price
