Thank you for this. I'm a single mum, and I hit gold with the stocking fillers because of all of the help from this thread. I can only afford Christmas the way I want by buying carefully.

The RNLI shop always has a good sale, I’ve bought many times from there and quality has always been great. I’ve bought a diary and Christmas cards already.

The dog punished me for daring to leave him on his own for 90 minutes by eating my brand new coat - it was my Xmas present to myself.

It was a DKNY black quilted 3/4 length coat with side pockets, and a soft black furry hood that had elasticated toggles to make it smaller. No belt or buttons, just a gold zipper. It had a 0degrees label, a black Dkny logo on one sleeve and synthetic filling, (I don’t buy products containing down).

It was a bargain from tkmaxx and, of course, it’s sold out everywhere. DH threw it away before I could take a picture of the product label, unfortunately and I can’t find a picture of the identical coat online.

If anyone can help me find a similar replacement, (or, ideally, the same jacket), I would be very grateful.

Is it still on the TK Maxx website? Even if it shows as sold out might help you identify it and search elsewhere?

It's an ongoing thing. I've damaged my knee which makes it difficult to walk and sleep. But hopefully it will pass!

Lost my old boy cat as well in September but turns out the baby cat has now decided she wants to be glued to me at all times

I know it’s not the same style as mine, as the sizing is 18-20 and mine was sized Medium, but it seems similar.

The Crafty Kit Company have needle felting gonk kits for £5 (they're usually £15 I think). You do need to pay £5 delivery, but they could be good value if you get a couple? They might have other things on sale, but I haven't looked properly yet.

I've brought next year's wrapping paper half price in M&S. I used to stock up in Wilko's.

Last year I purchased light up gin liqueurs to put away but they didn't all light up by this Christmas so we had to drink them.

The Works have Christmas gifts half price. I bought a 'Lego' carry along case and a double pack of monster trucks, both down to £3.50.

There was all sorts that I could have bought but had to resist as I haven't any space for it!!! Worth stocking up the present drawer if anyone else has one!
