Usually have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, but fancy something different this year. What are you having?

We have a mixture of warmed pastries
Cheeses and some continental meats
Bucks fizz and freshly brewed coffee.

Bumblebeesince19 · 22/12/2023 20:54

This is my own fault...
But this year we are at my mother in laws for lunch as she insisted (which is allgood and appreciated). So I have said to my girls they could choose whatever they wanted for Christmas breakfast, as its the only.part I get to make for them.
So we are having ice cream and fruit and melted chocolate drizzled over it... and I am having plenty of stronnnnnnng coffee!

FluffActually · 22/12/2023 20:56

I'm making mincemeat chelsea buns

norfolkjmummy788 · 22/12/2023 21:04

Option of croissants with jam or marmalade, brioche, toasted tea cakes, toast or fruit, fresh orange juice and fresh coffee...oh and some quality street type chocs if we open some as a pressie!

A slice of toast maybe? I don't really eat much of a morning

riotlady · 22/12/2023 21:07

Cheese and bacon croissants (the frozen ones you bake yourself) and chocolate pastry for DD.

ChristmasAgainWTAF · 22/12/2023 21:11

Breakfast Christmas day?? We couldn't manage our dinner if had that, after digging into chocolate gifts in the morning (it's Christmas so why wait? It's the one time of year its acceptable!) We do have young dcs though & eat dinner 12/1pm. I just have a coffee first thing, bucks fizz with lunch as I have to cook.
Christmas eve we'll be having homemade maple pecan sticky rolls though, and a nice cooked breakfast with all of the trimmings tomorrow.

ChristmasTreeMagic · 22/12/2023 21:20

Full irish or homemade Belgian waffles with crispy bacon & maple syrup
Champagne/ fresh oj

We don't eat dinner till evening

raspberrybeeret · 22/12/2023 21:30

Is there anyone else who runs out of time with everything and it ends up being bog standard toast or crumpets?! Surely not just us?

marychristmas22 · 22/12/2023 21:36

Usually have bagels with salmon and cream cheese but it's a bit much so we're going for frozen croissants with jam or Nutella this year. Plus coffee. Plus juices.

Crikeyalmighty · 22/12/2023 21:41

Crumpets, chocolate brioche, fruit salad, Greek yoghurt, toast and top notch jam and smoked salmon- a help yourself

StragglyTinsel · 22/12/2023 21:43

I usually make waffles for breakfast in Christmas Day.

Notsurehwhattdo · 22/12/2023 21:45

Just my usual cereal! I will enjoy Christmas dinner, but I'm not a huge foodie.. I don't overindulge, have never put on weight over Christmas and will actually be in better shape this year as I joined a gym a year ago and have stuck it out! 🏋️😊

EvesamtsirhC · 22/12/2023 21:46

We have the christmas tree shaped brioche from Aldi and the DC have Coco Pops. Santa brings them a box in their stocking. Its the only time they're allowed it 😂

I am craving smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels after reading this thread though.

kikisparks · 22/12/2023 21:46

Plan is Jus rol Croissants and pain au chocolats, then nothing for me until dinner at 5. My parents do vegan bacon butties.

londonloves · 22/12/2023 21:48

"Early" breakfast - stocking filler chocolate and sugary cereal 🤪
Brunch late morning - bagels, smoked salmon, scrambled egg, cream cheese
Maybe not that different but works for us...!

Pascha · 22/12/2023 21:50

Weetabix probably, or toast. Something plain anyway. It might be just coffee. I can't find an appetite very early in the day.

Sallyh87 · 22/12/2023 21:50

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs (made with cream!), avocado, toast. Maybe with additional bacon on the side if I’m feeling fancy.

Edited

We eat our Christmas lunch at about 4!

Breakfast will be croissants, scrambled egg, cheese, ham, OJ and lots of freshly ground coffee. We then have salmon and other canapés around 12, keeps the kids going until our ‘lunch’ at 4 (or probably more like 5!)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/12/2023 21:51

I’m having cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels and a caramel latte, the dc are having waffles and Nutella and fruit. We always have pork pie while we open our presents as well.

Thatfeatherthere · 22/12/2023 21:53

Everyone is doing it wrong. The only thing to have for breakfast on Christmas Day is your selection box...

TitsInAbsentia · 22/12/2023 21:55

Having been influenced by insta I think it will be cocopops and baileys...

mrsbyers · 22/12/2023 21:55

Croissants with a few options sweet and savoury

DeadbeatYoda · 22/12/2023 22:46

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, I'm afraid. However, on Boxing Day I cook brioche french toast with streaky bacon ( and a little maple syrup, for those with a sweet tooth).
