This thread title made me think I should make up a 12 days of christmas song for all the main bargains we've got! Thanks@Yalz and @ApiratesaysYarrr for the inspo on the title.

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

Just checked email and my Hotel Chocolat order is on its way - I paid £1 extra for delivery by Tues 19th. Order is 1 x large box of chocs and crackers to put in stockings.

A question re The Velvetiser - do you have to use the chocolate sachets from HC or will an ordinary drinking chocolate work in it too? (such as Cadbury or Galaxy drinking chocolate.) Thanks.

I’ve recently discovered Twinnings hot chocolate powder and I actually prefer it to HC🤐

AnotherOne4 · 17/12/2023 19:23

I've not hear a peep from Hotel Chocolat, but when I logged into my account, it states my order is packed and ready to hand over to the courier.

BeaLola · 17/12/2023 20:24

We buy kilo hot chocolate bags from Pendragon online as we love their flakes

BoopK · 17/12/2023 20:25

Just wanted to follow up on Ulster Weavers as I know someone mentioned a bad experience. I ordered Monday night (75% discounts on some of clearance section plus another 15% off with code. Delivered by Thursday, really pleased with the quality.

Does anyone know a discount for Burton Menswear hellobr doesn't work and I can't bring myself to pay without some kind of discount 😅

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 17/12/2023 21:25

I received my Fahlo order and I'm pleased with it! I ordered one free one and one other one. I also contacted them about the excess cost for delivery to Scotland and they refunded me the difference in postage cost between Scotland and England very promptly!

I like the feel of the bracelets too and I don't mind finding a box for them 😊

WombatBombat · 17/12/2023 21:55

Had an email to say my Hotel Chocolat order is with the courier. I ordered three large boxes plus a stocking filler, so surprised that mine has come through.

I saw the code pretty quickly on this thread though & had ordered before the message re staff discount, so not sure if that has made a difference.

Elphaba17 · 17/12/2023 22:08

My HC order has been dispatched too.

Has anyone found any nice gift boxes or bags for the Fahlo bracelets yet?

@Annie1290 I really recommend the beauty boxes from the Bridal Beauty Company. I’ve been buying from them sporadically for a couple of years and the value is incredible. Unlike some other boxes there are no ‘cheap fillers’ - everything seems to be very good quality and brands.

The current mystery box for £35 would be my suggestion. I believe you can also add the free Elemis cleansing balm when you purchase this too.

Looks lovely, although I don't technically need it 😂 how do you add the elemis balm?

LemonFrosting · 17/12/2023 22:30

Has anyone seen any Thomas the tank and friends/mario/Lightning mcqueen towels or wash cloths please? I'm after something useful for sons stocking!

MamaClausToTheRescue · 17/12/2023 22:35

@TheSeasonalNameChange i just searched and found this, but just realised it’s only for purchases over £50 - sorry. I need to restock the balm though (£36) so it’s probably worth me ordering this myself!

Thanks @MamaClausToTheRescue , wondered if I'd missed another option for it. Not sure if it's full size but the beauty essentials kit includes the balm too.

LostMyLovelyLlama · 17/12/2023 23:08

@Elphaba17
I used small square gift boxes from Poundland - 2 boxes for a pound and put some tissue paper around the actual bracelet.
Had to curve the card to fit in the box, but fits nicely arched rather than folded. Ended up looking nice and didn't want to spend a lot on the boxes.

Elphaba17 · 17/12/2023 23:11

LostMyLovelyLlama - Thank you so much. I'm going real life shopping tomorrow so will look out for them.

Beachcomber74 · 17/12/2023 23:27

Collected my order from HC inc velvetiser & 3x boxes of chocs code went through fine no mention of staff discount but by 26th am sure everything will be reduced by more than 50% so I don’t feel too guilty

Try Home Bargains, they always sell Batman PJs and lounge wear in my local one and I think I've seen slippers too.

Twinsandsome · 18/12/2023 06:07

Would anyone have an Argos code please? I would be so grateful I’m spending £140 (and I realllllly don’t want to be)

thanks in advance xx

Delahot · 18/12/2023 07:13

@Summer776 there are some on Etsy. Bit spendy but look nice.

I am all shopped and wrapped, except for one last gift I'm struggling with. Maybe one of you will have an idea...

My sister and her boyfriend are coming for Christmas day. It's a reasonably new relationship and Christmas day will be the first time we meet him. Obviously I need to get him a gift, but the only shreds of information my sister has given is that he has a beard, he likes beer, and he has raynaud's (she told me this in the context of "he struggles this time of year because he works outdoors and has raynaud's so his hands get bad")

I've asked my sister for direct ideas, and get a non committal "I don't know. Anything. Man stuff."

So far, I've got some special compression gloves from the raynauds society website, but want another gift for him to open. Maybe a beer gift set, or beard care gift set. Gah, I don't know.

Any ideas? Less than £20 ideally.

Thanks

@BlackFlyChardonnay
garden centres are full of novelty beers at the moment. How about a carry pack of these

Does anyone have a spare Argos code please? Will be spending £200.
Thank you 😊

TheGriffle · 18/12/2023 08:04

@BlackFlyChardonnay maybe some beard care stuff from Gruum? They tend to be good.

Has anyone seen a lidded platter like this one in the wild please? I’m off shopping today and hoping to find something like this to make a little sweet platter but have tried Poundland and B&M so far with no luck so was hoping someone had seen something similar.

Several weeks ago there was something similar in dunelm - don't think it had as many compartments though! Good luck!

That's a great idea, actually. The local garden centre is quite a nice festive trip out with the kids anyway, so I could swing past on the off chance and enjoy the Christmas displays either way. Thanks ❤️
