@Houseofsardines how old are the children? Could you get them each a voucher or give them the cash “from Granny” so that they can use to choose something in the January sales. That used to be a great favourite with my boys.

@Annie1290 I really recommend the beauty boxes from the Bridal Beauty Company. I’ve been buying from them sporadically for a couple of years and the value is incredible. Unlike some other boxes there are no ‘cheap fillers’ - everything seems to be very good quality and brands.

My HC order has dispatched too - a fairly small order of stocking filler type chocolates with next day delivery, using PayPal. I was fully expecting it to be cancelled so ordered the Chocolate Society mystery box as an alternative - oops!

@FilthyforFirth www.footballsbest4u.com I have used this over several years and the kits are great and put up with a lot of wear and washing in my house. I ordered by mistake from a very similar named company in November and didn't receive any confirmation of my order nor could I get any response from them on phone or email. I figured I had been scammed and ordered again from Footballbest4u - and now DS has TWO Liverpool away kits as the first one also turned up! 🤦‍♀️

@Threeboysadogandacat and @MerylSqueak thanks- ill give cash to my 11 year old but the others are a bit small. I have something stashed for my 4 year old which I bought in the Black Friday sale, but for the other two haven’t got anything because I carefully make sure everyone has 6 presents each so can’t really give up something I’ve got them already if you know what I mean? She will ring Christmas Day so that the kids can tell her how great she is and thank her profusely and will want photos of happy faces opening things - I could ‘out’ her but she’s 84 and it seems a bit mean even though she can be awful!

A question re The Velvetiser - do you have to use the chocolate sachets from HC or will an ordinary drinking chocolate work in it too? (such as Cadbury or Galaxy drinking chocolate.) Thanks.

Any hot chocolate will work in it and you can use any plant milk or even water instead of milk. You just have to adjust amounts required as per the instructions

Anyone know where’s the best supermarket to get the cheap veg leading up to Xmas?

They are all doing the 15p veg from tomorrow I believe (potatoes, sprouts, carrots and parsnips) Mind the potatoes are just the horrid white potatoes - they aren't Maris Pipers or anything.
