What are people getting their DHs?

We’re not doing ‘big presents’ but I need to get him some things or he gets nothing. I’d still spend a £100.

He doesn’t drink, he buys what he needs. He doesn’t need clothes. The only hobby thing I could get in (genuinely outing, it’s not cycling) would be incredibly expensive. He doesn’t read books, he never watches the DVDs I get him.

Im lost. Can I hear what others have gotten for some ideas?

Bunnyasmyname · 11/12/2023 00:43

TheSkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 11/12/2023 00:48

Dh is getting a godzilla dvd set and probably a tshirt/ hoodie from me. Ds10 got him a transformer figure as he's obsessed (DH, not Ds!)
Dd8 was going to get him some of his favourite chocolate but I suggested she club together with my older son to get a book-probably the Kammy autobiography so I think they'll go with that.

Pjmaskmummy · 11/12/2023 00:59

A new electric toothbrush.
A variety of gifts from his favourite football club - tracksuit bottoms, shorts, a sign for his man cave and a mug.
2.2L stainless steal water bottle.
A football jersey.
Lynx set.
Some chocolates, pen, car air freshener for stocking fillers.

RockGirl · 11/12/2023 01:57

So far I've bought.,,
Some clothes
Bamboo socks
An orthopaedic pillow
An insulated tiffin box
Parabolic microphone

I will also get this week some treats for M&S and a liquorice tin from Fortnum and Mason.

Roselilly36 · 11/12/2023 02:03

Artist Set of paints, and a new BBQ, weather vane for the garden. I know he will be delighted with these gifts.

Oopsupsideyourheadache · 11/12/2023 09:21

@Bluelightbaby thank you, that does look good

LeggyLegsEleven · 11/12/2023 11:10

Lots of lovely suggestions. I’ve been out this morning and saw some fleece lined joggers in M&S but they didn’t have his size. Might be one thing I can get.
Ive noticed that places like M&S have really cut down on their presents section, and now we have no department stores either there’s so much less to look at and get ideas from.

Mine likes wine so I’ve just got him a wine cooler, ice bucket and wine aerator. He is the hardest person to buy for ever!

AnnieKayTee · 11/12/2023 12:56

New slippers. (Who doesn't love a new pair of slippers) a jumper because I liked the colour and an instrument. Its called a Kalimbo? or something like that, 🤷🏻‍♀️ because he likes instruments. Next year I'm saving for an accordion

PlumpShady · 11/12/2023 14:17

DH and I just do stockings for each other so he’s got:
Socks (always needs socks)
Aftershave
Posh chocolate
Bath salts
Bottle of ale (One of the hilarious Christmas ones e.g Totally sleighed 🙄)
Chocolate sprouts

And I’ve also got him a black cabin sized suitcase as he travels a lot for work and pinches my (very feminine) one! But that’s from technically going to be from my DD and the dog lol

Hbh17 · 11/12/2023 14:25

Magazine subscription related to the hobby?

sprigatito · 11/12/2023 14:29

Mine is getting:

A big cuddly jumper
A cat t shirt
Three jigsaw puzzles (we do them together)
A knife roll for his bushcraft teaching
A bluetit cuddly toy that tweets
A nice illustrated book
His favourite shower gel
A bobble hat

Cas112 · 11/12/2023 14:29

Pizza oven
wallet

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/12/2023 15:48

Stocking only, we’re not doing big presents, we don't particularly want or need anything. Next year I’ll get him new sheepskin slippers but last year’s are still good.

Mostly edibles in his stocking - he doesn’t do gadgets or ‘novelties’ and doesn’t use after shave. Socks (he never buys any for himself), nuts, fudge, Cadbury’s Whole Nut, chocolate brazils from Grape Tree.
I’d like to add a book, but he’s always ordering books and has a massive TBR pile already! Mostly heavy non-fiction - and he’s a slow reader…

Monkeybutt1 · 11/12/2023 19:59

I've got him
2x pairs pjs
Snuddie
Posh beer
Aftershave
Chocolate
Foam roller
Jumper

We have a joint account so only buy stuff on behalf of DS who is 11. It's also DH's birthday on Xmas day so some of these are birthday gifts.

DaveWatts · 12/12/2023 16:09

Mine is getting -

World Atlas of Wine
Personalised swiss army knife for his keyring
Leather hanging toiletry bag thing
Various snacky bits, de-icer etc for his stocking plus lots of propelling pencils (I nick his so he's always running out)
Cashmere jumper

I'm now contemplating the various merits of an Ancestry DNA test and River Cottage fish course...

ThreeRingCircus · 12/12/2023 16:21

I've bought mine:

Bottle of gin

New slippers as his current ones have a hole in.

A reversible leather belt. Brown on one side, black on the other.

Prisonbreak · 12/12/2023 16:22

People suggesting coffee pod machines. I’m thinking about gifting this but I don’t know if it’s alright because it would be used at home and I would use it as well. Is this ok ?
