Have you got your tree up yet?

It seems like half of my Facebook newsfeed have already got their tree up. I don't remember it ever starting this early when I was a kid!

@frasers if only there was a John Lewis anywhere near us! But no, some friends and neighbors have theirs up. Some houses around here kitted out with their outdoors decorations too (which may be too far I'll admit)

EveWinter · 23/11/2023 19:45

Yes.

tinytemper66 · 23/11/2023 19:45

No!

Frostythereindeer · 23/11/2023 19:48

We have 2 trees up. One in the kids playroom which has coloured lights and all sorts of baubles on it that the kids have gathered over the years. The second is nicely decorated for me.

TheBeesKnee · 23/11/2023 19:49

Under normal circumstances my tree goes up mid-December.

However, our friend is coming to stay this weekend for a delegated Christmas of sorts. She sometimes spends Christmas with us but this year she will be away in her home country for about 6 weeks and then next year will be moving in with her boyfriend and I suspect shortly getting engaged, married and having babies so this is really the last year we'll spend Christmas together.

tenpoundpombear · 23/11/2023 19:52

My whole house is decorated, I did it last weekend. I love Christmas, I love the decorations and I work in an industry where I am very busy in December and wouldn't get to enjoy them properly if I waited, never mind find the time to put them up!

It hurts no one, and it doesn't bother me if other people choose to put theirs up on Christmas Eve and take them down on Boxing Day if that's what suits them.

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/11/2023 19:54

No. Mine will probably go up on 16th December (looking at the calendar).

I live on a rather middle class road Grin and no one has Christmas trees or lights up yet.

Wineisgreat · 23/11/2023 19:54

Just today but I have a planned C section next Friday so I wanted to do it before then. I also think that the proportion of artifical trees are higher now than when I was a kid so it's possible to put it up early. It does nobody any harm so I'm all about what makes people happy.

Humanswarm · 23/11/2023 19:56

Not until the second weekend in December. I want to feel Xmasy before then and I guess I sort of do, but I'd also get too stressed that it was approaching and I am nowhere near ready for it!

girlyjim · 23/11/2023 20:00

We normally put it up the first weekend of December but DS kept asking so we gave in on Sunday. Love it🤗

Missingmyusername · 23/11/2023 20:01

Last weekend in November- as always.

EwwSprouts · 23/11/2023 20:03

No way! There's over a month to go.

MythicBish · 23/11/2023 20:08

Ds has asked if we can put it up this weekend. Everyone at the school gates today was saying they're doing theirs this weekend so I think I will relent.
Only doing a small tree this year so I can pop it up on a table away from our newly toddling baby so might as well decorate now and get it done.

FelicityGraceSpoon · 23/11/2023 20:41

Mine goes up every year on the 5th December which I think is early tbh.

I personally would feel ridiculous decorating my house in November and id be thoroughly sick of it all way before Christmas Day

MyDogSmellsTerrible · 23/11/2023 20:56

I'd never put mine up until December.

I don't even allow myself to sing along to Christmas songs until 1st December (always start with Wham, Last Christmas 😂)

Also, I like a traditional Norway Spruce. Four weeks is the max, even with careful watering every day!

MrsMiddleMother · 23/11/2023 21:05

Not yet but I've been tempted! I want to do a deep clean and tidy before the decs go up but struggling to find the time and motivation. Hopefully I'll get my shit together for the 1st 😁

Cornwallsummer · 23/11/2023 21:11

Usually I'd wait until 2nd weekend in December but this year I left abusive ex dh and am so looking forward to celebrating without him that it went up yesterday

FedUpMumof10YO · 23/11/2023 22:11

Yes 🎄

booksandbrooks · 23/11/2023 22:13

Not yet, but have so much love and joy for everyone who does. Have been playing the Christmas games, eating fayre and singing the songs. Filled the house with holly, excitement is building. Got to get some crafts on the go next. Happy days!

stargirl1701 · 23/11/2023 22:19

No, it's November.

I've the tartan bunting and table runner looked out for St Andrew's Day next week. Haggis is in the food delivery order.

Nanalisa60 · 23/11/2023 22:20

Not yet as it November, but come 1st December there will all be going up. But I must say I have noticed a lot up early this year.

Mindovermatter247 · 23/11/2023 23:06

Just put ours up today as only day everyone’s together for the next 2 weeks. Had the big light turn on for outside today aswell.

Misspacorabanne · 23/11/2023 23:29

Hopefully this Sunday! We like it up for the 1st usually, but dc like to help, so we shall do it Sunday as obviously not at school!

RosesAndHellebores · 23/11/2023 23:33

Might go up on 17th December and that's early.

SnapdragonToadflax · 23/11/2023 23:35

Of course not, it's November. Only saw one in a window walking through my neighbourhood tonight.

Real tree, goes up mid-December (will put up a wreath and some fairy lights before that if I get around to it). Comes down around January 3rd, before I go back to work. I need the sparkly lights and pretty tree between Christmas and New Year, it makes the house look lovely and you're actually around to appreciate it. I keep some fairy lights up around the house until it starts to feel light again in spring.
