No, and I won’t even think about it until mid December.
I’ve already had enough of Xmas adverts and the tat everywhere.

steppemum · 12/11/2023 21:58

This week I was in Asda (I normally online shop) so I bought some chocolates for stockings and I ordered 2 gifts online last night. That's it.

I have just done dd's birthday and have ds' in December.

Where is the rush? I go out for a couple of days in the next month and the rest is online. Stockings these days are mostly food, so I'll start adding things to my weekly shop.

We will do Christmas lunch at my brothers. We don't buy masses of extra, just some nice meals. They just go on weekly food shop in Dec.

For presents I have 3 kids (2 are adults), my parents, 5 neices and nephews and a couple of friends, and of course dh who is the hardest! So not masses. We don;t go overboard.

I set a budget over a year ago, and have money saved for Christmas, but have done absolutely nothing else yet. Today, DH had an idea for a gift for one DIL.

I take it this thread popped up in Active? Lots of bah-humbug! Xmas Grin

no bah humbug from me. I love Christmas, just don't see the need to start shopping in Sept/Oct, unless i happen to see something I love for someone

Theoldwoman · 12/11/2023 22:13

Me.

I don’t have many to buy for, DH, DD22, DD20 and DD boyfriend.

benfolds5 · 12/11/2023 22:17

Haven't bought anything Christmassy yet, haven't got any ideas what to get for the kids. I'm hoping by early December I'll have been inspired to start. Most things I'll be able to get in supermarkets or on Amazon so it'll be fine I'm sure.

Blinkityblonk · 12/11/2023 22:19

Nope. Not a massive Christmas fan anyway, so try to limit the spread of it all. Mainly buy for late teens, close family and have easy meals. I never ever think of presents for people, I have some kind of blind spot in that department and it's such hard work every year, but starting early doesn't help. I just sit on Amazon and think very very hard and get them slightly obvious stuff.

stepintochristmas1 · 12/11/2023 22:28

I have done lots of xmas shopping for bits and pieces ( have quite a lot ) and husband has bought groceries from supermarket . Probably because I don't like crowds anymore (immune suppressed ). Don't want to do it in December .

Watchingpaintdrying · 12/11/2023 22:29

I bought one present online today. I just dread it.

calyxx · 12/11/2023 22:33

Yep

bengalcat · 12/11/2023 22:36

Me ….. although I have booked a Waitrose delivery slot for Christmas Eve ( just need to fill the basket )

sipsqueak · 12/11/2023 22:40

Er me. I don't go Christmas shopping in November

gotomomo · 12/11/2023 22:44

Me, I do mine in December

Growlybear83 · 12/11/2023 22:49

Christmas is still weeks away! I usually do my present shopping online in mid December and then have a trip to the shops on about the 22nd. My daughter is coming home for. Week on the 20th so I'll have to have my shopping day a little bit earlier so I can spend as much of the time she's here with her as possible.

SwordToFlamethrower · 12/11/2023 22:50

Not doing Christmas, therefore, no shopping to do!

Happy days

BitofaStramash · 12/11/2023 22:51

Nope no shopping

In fact the only things I've done is book my delivery slot at Tescos, my Turkey and some Panto tickets.

I won't do anything else until at least December.

2chocolateoranges · 12/11/2023 22:53

Not started here, have 6 family birthdays in the next 3 weeks (3nephews, ds, dh and my mums.) 2 of those birthdays involve a weekend away and a weeks holiday. So I can’t even think of Christmas until I’m back home on the 12th December.

plenty time! 😂😂😂😂

Waitingfordoggo · 12/11/2023 22:53

Me. I always buy a couple of weeks before Xmas.

Ineedwinenow · 12/11/2023 22:57

Me, I can’t be arsed with any of it and also it’s only November. I might start to worry if I’ve not got anything by the 24th December.

I’d rather just lock myself away, drink booze, eat cheese and chocolate & sleep but apparently I have to socialise, pretend to enjoy the festive season and buy lots of “thoughtful gifts” whilst I get absolute shite in return! Ho Ho Ho!!!

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 13/11/2023 06:35

Me.
It's not December yet :)

THisbackwithavengeance · 13/11/2023 09:08

Why would I have started Xmas shopping? It's still November. It's not even late November.

Fluffyc1ouds · 13/11/2023 09:26

Every year I get stressed about christmas presents and choosing the right thing, but I'm refusing to let that happen this year. I usually start buying in October but I've not started yet. Relatives living far away will get gift cards in the post and I'm leaving DH to sort his family out (I usually happily take it all on but I can't be bothered this year).

My only issue is the budget and we're now faced with getting all the christmas presents out of one pay day.

DanceMumTaxi · 12/11/2023 17:00

Yeah, me. Really should make a start tbh.

Same

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 13/11/2023 09:30

I tend to be very generous so just cut down that this year.

Mountainviewse · 14/11/2023 18:35

50/50 then
