Has anyone seen any coffee machine bargains? Specifically the original Nespresso (or compatible) type.

This is £59 with 150 capsules.

Good Clinique savings at asos

XmasShoppingsister · 11/11/2023 22:21

I've wasted my evening putting together a picture of Hooded blankets that Trueface sell on Ebay that are the same patterns as those sold on either the official UK or Australia Oodie website. So are far more likely to be Oodies.

Don't forget the code SAVENOW for 20% off a minimum of £20 spend.

Those Kind patches look interesting, not heard of vitamin patches before.

I've been nerdily checking the ingredients and the Energy patches seem to have a much higher level of B vitamins in them than the Focus ones, so look like they'd be more effective... I'm trying to convince myself not to buy them as we've already got stacks of pots of vitamins in the house that we forget to take, but am tempted by their stocking-filler-ness...

@MerylSqueak I recommend smart wool and they have a sale on atm (though not many options in it). I ordered these for myself today. If you want cheaper options mountain warehouse are good.

Edit: I just checked mountain warehouse and they're not as cheap as I remembered. 😞

Edited

Thank you.

I'm not sure where Gordon came from!

@XmasShoppingsister that is true service to the community! Thank you 🙏😍

AnotherOne4 · 11/11/2023 22:30

I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole of Kit Kats. I never knew there were so many varieties!

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy a selection?

XmasShoppingsister · 11/11/2023 22:34

@PurpleSkittle Aww thankyou, I secretly enjoyed doing it 😂.

Some of the names made me giggle. True face called the one with Australian animals, Animal Box and Oodie calls it Native Bunch.

Trueface call the grey and orange one 'Sky reindeer' but it's called Moose by Oodie.

And 'Blue-cats' is actually Otters!

@beetr00 does the code stack with the stuff already on sale?!

What does a menopausal woman need for travelling long haul (Australia - she's a claustrophobic never flown before lady) in a Christmas gift set? Mum has asked for flight socks, and I thought her daily cleanse/tone in miniature so far. I'm a frequent flier so forget what other people might need... Not sure which airline yet so don't know if she needs a power bank or if they all have usb (the 2 airlines i usually fly with have usb as standard). Does she need a travel fan? I know she gets hot, would it help with anxiety?

I'd get her an anti anxiety essential oil rollerball. Aromatherapy associates do a lovely one, but it's pricey (£25 ish for 10ml). I got mine new and boxed from Vinted for a fiver. Alternatively, there used to be one in a lovely beauty box that Next sold. Or Tisserand had a lovely 3 pack on Amazon recently for about a tenner. Nice sleep mask to go with it or maybe a wrap (pashmina style) that could be used as a lightweight blanket on the flight.

As a woman who has flown solo a few times to Aus, a beautiful journal is also a nice idea. It's something you can write in to take your mind off things when feeling anxious. My Mum got me this the first time I went to Aus, and tucked a little personal note in, a keepsake bookmark and photo. A stem of dried lavender wasn't such a good idea mind, as I got pulled over by customs when I got there when the sniffer dogs got a whiff of something herbal. Won't do that again!

Notherereally1 · 11/11/2023 22:39

On the oodies topic has anyone seen an alternative (cheaper) version of the sleep tees? I've got one as a birthday present and I love it! But feel even at the black Friday reduced price they're still a bit expensive for basically a big maternity nightie with pockets.

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/11/2023 22:39

@RainbowZebraWarrior The journal is a lovely idea thanks! I think she'd really love that :)

I'm wearing the otter one right now! DD and I often have discussions about whether they are actually beavers. I can't remember what mine was marketed as last year. Sloths, I think.

Emp code, if snyone can make use

PurpleSkittle · 11/11/2023 22:48

@Blessedbethefruitz I didn't see your post about gifts for a first-time long-haul flyer (now wondering about what other bargains I might have missed 🧐) but I'd say mini moisturizer and lip balm are a must, as long haul flights are so dessicating. Also some kind of boiled sweets for take-off and landing to help de-pressurise the ears.

Elodie09 · 11/11/2023 22:50

@PopcornAndGummyBears Thank you so much. Mostly run 10k and half marathons so will get the ones you suggested , fab.

XmasShoppingsister · 11/11/2023 22:51

@Ilovepugs2017 I got the Boots Beauty Heroes Freebie instore today. You need to spend a min of £20 either online or in store, on any individual makeup. (Nearly all make up in store was included except for sets and premium makeup) Sorry pics are quite dark but this is what you get.

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/11/2023 22:51

@PurpleSkittle People moisturise during flights? I usually just drink (heavily) and brush my teeth! Mini moisturiser added to the list!

msssm · 11/11/2023 22:54

Fabricwitch · 11/11/2023 20:46

Kind patches have 50% off all patches and free shipping on 4 or more packs. I've ordered sleep ones for my mum as she struggles with sleep and recovery (hangover) ones for my niece in uni. I've tried both of those and the lip ones before and they are really good! Kind patches

Thanks I've bought some to give them a try!

@Notherereally1 ...Big maternity nightie with pockets 🤣

@RainbowZebraWarrior hmm beavers you say? Much more feasible. I definitely didn't think cats was right. And why do they have nappies on? 🤔😂

sorryiasked · 11/11/2023 22:58

@MerylSqueak try mountain warehouse, wiggle or chain reaction for merino base layers.

Fabricwitch · 11/11/2023 23:08

@Blessedbethefruitz I don't know if anyone has already mentioned it but I always bring a face spray for flights so I can hydrate without having to wash my hands. I particularly like the L'occitane ones. I also like This Works In Transit Moisturiser for when I do get up to go to the bathroom 😅

https://www.amazon.co.uk/This-Works-Transit-Camera-Close-Up/dp/B00CG8E7U8?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-christmas-4938808-thread-9-the-one-where-we-have-wax-meltdowns

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 11/11/2023 23:18

@Blessedbethefruitz when I flew (also alone to Australia, my first flight alone!) The thing I bought for my second trip there was a butt cushion! Made from memory foam because I had such a numb bum from sitting so long! Think it was from Amazon. It made it alot better second time round! They handed out hot flannels a few hours after setting off, that was lovely so perhaps a time for her to moisturise afterwards. I'd suggest some ear plugs/eye mask, fancy hand gel and some books (aswell as the butt cushion!)

Glad people are getting bargains from True_Face! I posted in the last thread about them, there's also the TopCashBack (1% but still counts haha) I have the Quokka... Delightfully named as 'rat' on there! I like both but still... I actually think it looks more like a rat pig than a Quokka but I love it all the same!

Christmasmcchristmasface · 11/11/2023 23:26

DN 15 has asked for a silk pillowcase and silk short pyjamas.
every pillowcase I find is either actually satin or silk and cotton mix
To add she is very brand conscious

any suggestions of where to look???
