Lots of the Amazon discount prices were correct when adding basket and then magically went up to full price when I purchased 🙈

nopuppiesallowed · 01/08/2023 14:03

Thank you @ChristmasCwtch .
Brilliant ideas. Especially the Bubble Tea idea ( I smile cheerfully while shelling out vast quantities of cash for these flavoured waters with colourful frogspawn lurking in the depths)....
Best wishes from your sister Welsh woman!

Thank you for the air-up link. I have just had mine delivered. Great present for those who are wanting one. However any idea on how to get the water to flow when you lift the pod up. My straw only works when it's pushed down/deactivated. I am message but it's driving me mad

Nothingbuttheglory · 01/08/2023 18:39

Anyone know if Yoto often do discounts bigger than 10%? Wondering if it's worth holding off buying.

EdenGlen · 01/08/2023 18:48

Any mini figure related gift ideas or deals? Has to be official Lego. My son loves the little blind bags but they’re expensive and I was thinking maybe a display case or something? Thanks.

napsarelifewithtwo · 01/08/2023 18:58

Thank you whoever posted The Wintertide bear. Came today and it's a beautiful book, Amazon also accidentally sent me one extra too!

Evening all, I braved shops IRL today. I found a few bargains so thought I would share. My twins start school in Sept so I am stocking up for the anticipated dreaded class parties as well as Christmas.

I had ordered a couple of Bakugan online as my eldest wanted a couple for his birthday but it only allowed me to buy a couple with the biggest discount but when I went to collect them in store there were plenty so I grabbed a couple more. I have often paid £7 or £8 for a single Bakugan. These were £3.33 and £4. All three of my boys love them.

I then headed to Aldi which was awash with Barbie. I thought £3.99 for the projector torch was very reasonable and more the magnetic dress up thingie. It was £4.99 for the outfit.

Apologies for my overuse of ‘couple’!

TwinsPlusAnotherOne · 01/08/2023 20:14

Meh, you only used it a couple of times

Bubblepanda · 01/08/2023 20:14

Great price for Bakugan. Where do you order them from? @Dreamingofwalden

The Bakugan were purchased from The Entertainer.

Have never heard of Bakugan but they look really interesting! What sort of age would you say they are best for?

Officially 6+ but my four year olds and soon to be seven year old all play fight over with them. I like them as they are small and don’t take up too much space. Good for holidays and day trips too.

ChristmasCwtch · 01/08/2023 21:32

My DC love Bakugan. They’re like tiny transformers.

Just a bit of advice though… some are very tricky to close and they can break easily. So I’d say 5 is the minimum age and even then they may need help closing them.

Also, don’t waste money on the arena!! That was a main request last year here and was a waste of money. They have lots of fun just playing with the little balls.

ChristmasCwtch · 01/08/2023 21:36

@Dreamingofwalden the Jacks birthday club 20% stacks with the discounts at The Entertainer for clink and collect orders. Such a good deal. I have many imaginary children to get more discount codes 😆

Youcancallitpettybutsee · 01/08/2023 23:18

Has anyone used xs-stock? And do they do discount codes?

NisekoWhistler · 02/08/2023 08:50

Just catching up, thanks so much for helping me feel over 50% of the way there with gifts.

LexieLoos · 02/08/2023 08:54

Oh and you can get a sheet of personalised stickers for 'free' (£3 postage) here

@Dreamingofwalden @ChristmasCwtch thanks for the advice/info re Bakugan - my son is 4 and will be 4.5 by Christmas so think I'll chance it. He loves little fiddly things and is pretty careful so think they might be a a hit.

10in10 · 02/08/2023 13:28

My daughter really wants an underwater camera. Any tried and tested recommendations?

nicky2512 · 02/08/2023 14:01

Bath and Body Works soaps (£10 each) are buy two for £13. Have ordered some for my mum and aunt.
I love them but too expensive to buy for myself!
Hoping for inspiration on here as apart from dd I am completely without ideas this year ☹️

Claramay78 · 02/08/2023 20:32

any recommendations for a go pro camera suitable for a 10year old?

thanks

Nicknamesforviolet · 02/08/2023 20:37

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I use camelcamelcamel to notify me if amazon items drop below a certain price. Just set up one for the funny bunny game so I don't have to keep checking. Useful in the run up to Christmas x
