Hi, hope it’s ok to post this here.

Please can anyone recommend a board game for a 3 year old but one that is not a super popular one? My niece loves board games, but a lot are either for older age or the ones age suitable she already has. Trying to find one her parents won’t have come across. Thanks :-)

Labyrinth? I played it with my son when he was three. We just had to play in adult and child teams.

Not a board game per se but we absolutely love the little game 'animo dice' by djeco. Is incredibly simple and I think a 3 yr old would love it: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115622942215?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=zGAHWpMhRMW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Reason for eBay link is I can't find anywhere else selling it in UK... this gives a bit more info: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/367884/animo-dice

Super wings advent calendar from 2022 is under £9, looks like some nice little figures for anyone whose preschoolers are into aeroplanes.

Have a look at Blokus. Haven’t found anyone who doesn’t love it, youngest I’ve played with is 5 though.

My dd fell in love with "my first carcassonne" at 3. At 5, it's still her favourite game. I think it's a combination of building a map and the meeples which she loves. Also 3 is on the early side for it but the mechanics are simple enough and other players can "help" either obviously or sneakily depending on the child.

Chocolate witch is a fun little Ravensburger card game that both my kids have loved since they were small. It's really simple, the winner is the first person to get all six ingredients required to make Chocolate. You can take as many cards as you like per turn but if you pull a "chocolate witch" card you have to put every ingredient got that turn back. It's usually on Amazon for under £5 so a decent stocking filler. Look for Schoko Hexe. It's the German edition but the English instructions are linked on Amazon.

Funny Bunny or Sneaky Snacky Squirrel are both great for that age. My 10 year old still likes playing Funny Bunny (as do I!)

wutheringkites · 31/07/2023 18:02

I second Funny Bunny. It's a great game.

ChristmasCwtch · 31/07/2023 18:32

My DC love Funny Bunny too.

juless77 · 31/07/2023 19:22

Thank you for the heads up on the hot diamonds discounts, managed to get my dns birthday gifts!

I also used a referral code from the main referral thread for an air up bottle for dd which has made her money go a bit further.

Lastminutebride · 01/08/2023 05:54

Thank you. The black ones are now £45 so even better!

Crimsonbow · 01/08/2023 07:00

@PeppaNGeorge my (I mean DCs) favourite is probably Funny Bunnies too. I got it for £7.99 last year in November although it's £20 now on amazon.

MullerInk · 01/08/2023 08:48

Mimi and Lula have a 50% sale on. Good for stocking fillers for girls.

gawditswindy · 01/08/2023 09:39

Funny Bunnies was £5 last year on Amazon so worth keeping an eye out. My girls (4 and 6) love it so if I see it that low again I'm going to buy it for her cousins.

PeppaNGeorge · 01/08/2023 09:47

Thank you so much for all the board game recommendations! All look great, and quite a few I’ve never heard of which is a bonus 👍

Going to make a list, should keep me going for her next couple of birthdays and Christmases.

Thanks again, you’re all so kind and helpful.

nopuppiesallowed · 01/08/2023 13:09

Any suggestions for boys aged 8 and 11 who love football and gaming?
And girls from 12 to 15?
This gran wants to remain the fun, spoil you all rotten type!

ChristmasCwtch · 01/08/2023 13:25

@Snippysocks I wish we had a Gran like you!!

My DC love anything Minecraft. Vouchers for gaming would be amazing too, as they love the freedom of choice and “paying” 😊 And I never say yes when they want to buy online credit!!

Fun foreign snacks like US or Japanese sweets. Cool flavour outlays from Tokyo etc.

My DC would also love bubble tea vouchers. We’ve got MooBoo franchise shops around us, so that would be my go to.

They both are now campaigning for AirUp bottles!!

ChristmasCwtch · 01/08/2023 13:25

“Outlays” should say kitkats 🤪
