Ok courtesy of the Xmas bargains thread I have a lovely Hotel Chocolat wreath of chocolates plus the usual chocolate nuts etc. when do you all officially open them? . Is it Xmas day or are you all munching on them now.
All those boxes of roses/quality street etc . When do they get opened in your house?
My DH keeps asking if we can open them but I have been resisting but I am thinking today is the day as I am finished work now . What about everyone else?

I have a bottle of Fino sherry chilling in the fridge and cracked it open a couple of days ago with some peanuts to celebrate getting my last lot of shopping in. I eat nice cheese all the year round so have eaten all the old bits ready to start on the fresh delicious ones. I know I have some fudge and chocolates among my presents so that’s sweet stuff sorted too. I will work my way through it all at a steady pace over the next week or so

We opened the Yule log this evening.

When I was a child it was while sat watching Jason and the Argonauts which was always on just before Christmas. Now it’s when the last person finishes school/college/work which means not till tomorrow night as one of the kids has a shift at Burger King. I’ll probably take the others out for hot chocolate in the afternoon so it feels special though.

Christmas Eve is anything goes here

I usually hold off as long as possible. We did however open some fruit and nuts acouple of days ago. We also had some of the 'nice' crisps too which tirned out to be not so nice, prompting a rebuy of different ones. For the latter reason i would recommend a quality control check before the big day, and it makes sense to have it in moderation 😂

turned not tirned

The week leading up to Christmas is the time goodies come out! If you don’t have them during that time you will loathe them after Christmas and end up taking them into work in January, along with everyone else, and by that point no one can face them! 🤣🤣🤣

Well things didn’t go to plan yesterday and an emergency birthday present purchase saw me in Marks and Spencer food hall last night at 9pm so no time to relax but today is the day the wrapping is coming off, the film has been chosen , wine is chilling and it will be a free for all on the snacks. Can’t wait

I haven't bought any this year because last year I gave them away unopened at Easter. Adult ds brought round a 2.4kg box of Celebrations last night that he had forgotten to take with him when he was working away last week so now have tons of chocolate that no doubt won't be eaten and I will give away. We aren't chocolate lovers in this house.
