@MaltbyMaeve not necessarily a bargain, but if he likes football one of the mystery shirts? For example surpriseshirts.co.uk

Lego jigsaw, 1000 piece minifigure version
£10.19 lowest ever price at amazon

DH got me this last year and I really recommend it. Very fun.

@ThatshallotBaby the chocoloney calendar is £12.99 on Amazon now with delivery by the 1st.

I'm going to do MYO as I can get 40 minis for £10 at Sainsbury's so there will be loads left over which is a bonus!

You can get minis in Sainsbury's? Ooh. We only have a lindt pick and mix in ours.

The chocolonely advent is £9.99 with free postage on the Oxfam ebay shop.

Hello all, thanks so much for these threads which are definitely my Christmas happy place!

I wouldn't normally ask this type of question but I'm struggling on this one - we have a family of Ukrainians staying with us at present. I have sorted two of them (the mum and daughter - find them a lot easier to buy for!), but there is also a 12 year old boy who is staying with us. He seems to have hit puberty since arriving with us and spends a lot of time in his room - he originally liked lego but doesn't seem so keen any more. They have been through a lot and their Dad is fighting in Ukraine so I would obviously like to spoil them but I'm just stumped. I'd be very grateful for any ideas.

What about some technology stuff like earphones/headphones an echo dot, tablet, phone case kind of things?

or some clothes like Nike hoody or something similar. Does he wear caps?

Only peripherally Christmassy, but I’m looking for a bargain on rugs. Medium sized for living room, runner for hallway, internal and external mats. Any particular sales or discounts I should be aware of?

I though matalan but couldn’t see anything I liked, and the last one I got from there was not great quality (more like a cutdown carpet with raw edges)

I’m new here - long time lurker

thank v much for Hotel Choc wreath heads up!

Have you tried Ian Snow for rugs? Black Friday sale just started

Tequilamockinbird · 24/11/2022 11:58

Not really Christmassy but a good deal for anyone who uses Aussie shampoo. 6 bottles for £13.51 on Amazon. I usually pay around £4 a bottle for this!

Re the Ukrainian pre teen boy - at this age my son liked the Xbox - so XBox voucher/live card etc if he has one? Plus sweets!! And cash.

Squirrelvillage · 24/11/2022 12:02

Has anyone received their smashed grapes advent calendar yet? I ordered about 5 things and none of them have arrived!

WhyDoesItAlways · 24/11/2022 12:03

@MistletoeMouse it's these in the Christmas aisle.

Thanks for the Oxfam heads up though

@user143677433 dunelm is quite good for rugs think they have some Black Friday deals on too!

MaltbyMaeve · 24/11/2022 12:06

@Georgieporgie29 - tech stuff is a really good shout - thank you. He does wear caps so that's another good idea - really appreciate it!

@Withholdingvitalinfo He has an xbox my DB leant him so stuff related to that is a good idea! Plus cash, was wondering if that was a cop out but I guess if that's what he'll appreciate it's probably better than me spending on things he doesn't like. thank you!

Thank you, but I can’t see it!! Very possible it’s me being dim tbh.
Good idea re Sainsbury’s Smile

Anyone that ordered the men's dressing gown from bedroom athletics yesterday did you get a confirmation email? I can see the funds have gone out of the bank but can't find an email

I got a confirmation e-mail.

I didn’t even need a dressing gown but clicked on the link like a sheep as one does. I saw some lovely slipper boots for my boys which they didn’t need and ended up adding a dressing gown to get free postage. No wonder I’m broke!

I’m on the lookout for the Neom mini well-being pod in nude. I was waiting for ASOS to drop it but it’s now out of stock.
Also YSL Black Opium in 50ml. Parfum Dreams seems to be cheapest but I’m holding out for any more offers tomorrow just in case.

@Startuplife The nude neom mini pod is down to £40 on Amazon black Friday deal and the oils down to £14

WhyDoesItAlways · 24/11/2022 12:29

@ThatshallotBaby looks like it's gone, it was under other sellers but I can't see it there anymore.

@MistletoeMouse says it's on Oxfam eBay shop for £10 with free delivery

Bluegirl288 · 24/11/2022 12:35

@user143677433 Have you tried Kukoon rugs. They have thousands and discounts for black friday

What might be good is a card/voucher for the Xbox so he can speak to his friends and play with them on Xbox live. This was a godsend when my DS was off sick for 4 months and through the pandemic

Voiceofreason92 · 24/11/2022 12:46

@shinny we have the junior version of ticket to ride- which is great for my 6 and 8 year old. They absolutely love it. Ive just bought the adult version as my son turns 8 soon and i know he'd love il the next version up. My 6 year old will probably be alright with it too.
The europe version is by far the best one

user143677433 · 24/11/2022 12:47

Thanks for the rug suggestions. I’m working my way through now 🙂

I’ve already had a reply from Hot Diamonds…. They said to just use code BF30 as that’s a better code than the birthday one!

I didn't wait for the birthday code for my order last night, I used BF30 and BIRTHDAY and they stacked, taking a £45 ring down to £20 posted. BIRTHDAY took £15 off

slipperypenguin · 24/11/2022 12:55

Has anyone seen nintendo switch sports cheaper than £29.99?

AlabamaWorley22 · 24/11/2022 12:57

@IggyAce thanks for the heads up on the Abbot Lyon stuff. Unfortunately I can’t get the FIRST15 code to stack with the BF code - how did you manage to do this? Thanks!

Cmini · 24/11/2022 12:59

Skullduggeryfizz · 24/11/2022 09:47

Ameliorate have 40% off on their website, which you can stack with 15% off with BLUELIGHT and a further 15%Topcasback

Great find! Also stacks with UNiDAYS 15% code.

livingthegoodlife · 24/11/2022 13:06

@Travelplans the Barbie camper is £70 at Amazon or the older Dream model is £60.

Thanks, have just done this and they stacked. JEWELS also stacked for free delivery. Lovely £45 earrings for my mum for £16.50. Will also get 6% cashback via quidco.
