I need to buy Christmas crackers. Looking around the shops it’s the same old stuff in them whether they’re the cheapo plastic filled ones or the more expensive silver bottle opener/napkin ring etc.
I don’t want to make my own. I would like a little interesting thing in them that’s not the same as every other year. Has anyone found any that are a bit different to those of every other year?

We got some with little wind up racing penguins in a couple of years ago. Each cracker has a penguin in, you get a little racing card with the lanes on included in the box, wind them up and off they go. Weve still got them and bring them out after every Xmas dinner now. We also each throw a tenner in and winner takes all. Makes it a bit more interesting 😊

I've seen musical ones and escape room ones as well which look quite interesting

Request for help from the South West

Every year we buy Bil/Sil @ family an activity type gift. I feel we have exhausted the usual buy a gift/Virgin chain type places so am hoping that someone will be able to recommend a local gem that I could source vouchers for?
Over the years they have enjoyed GoApe, frizbee golf, dry slope skiing and karting to give some idea. They live in Bristol but will happily travel at least an hour so have previously done Cardiff, Exeter and Reading. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I think Bristol have a new inland man made surfing lake.
We had a great time at the one in Wales!

Probably done every year but best price for Nike Air Force1 in white? He’s a size 9.5 so looking at mens!

Nike official website have a sale on at the moment. Otherwise ASOS have them and they regularly have 20% off days

I got some plastic free crackers from Aldi. Think they were about £6 for 12. Each cracker contains hat, joke and a printed puzzle eg wordsearch / crossword / maze

QueenOfCakeandCoffee · 22/11/2022 11:56

www.jewellerybox.co.uk have 20% everything with the code BF22FRI for the next 2 days.
I’ve purchased from them many things and have been happy with the quality.

Threeboysandadog · 22/11/2022 11:57

I’m looking for a £10 Boden code. If anyone has one they can’t use could they PM it as I have missed the earlier ones. Thanks 😀

Whyisitsodifficult · 22/11/2022 11:59

@Sisisimone thanks but unfortunately Air Force are excluded from these promotions! 🙄☹️

Did anyone else order degustabox advent? I've still not received it, just checked and its showing as estimated delivery of 6th December?!

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 22/11/2022 12:09

DS2 has put a lego technic car on his christmas list - no particular one. Has anyone seen any bargains for these? He already has lots of lego so only looking to get a small set.

BadgerFace · 22/11/2022 12:16

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile This might be too far but this luge in Wales is on my list of places to visit www.zipworld.co.uk/adventure/fforest-coaster

We did a luge in Normandy a couple of years ago and all of us loved it (DDs were 4 and 7). We live quite far from wales but I’m determined to go one day!

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads Thank you. I gave one last year which was well received so have just made another one. Postage checked out at £2.99 (tracked but not express delivery so be careful which option you choose). Couldn’t remember password used and could find the reset password thing so used work email.

@Needtostartover I must have somehow clicked on express shipping as mine was £4.99😀🙄

This one was popular last year.

Free portrait easel calendar from photobox with code EASELCAL

Easel Calendar

This has now let me use the code on my main account after so you should no longer need to set up a new one if you purchased last year. Must have been early teething problems

RedKite99 · 22/11/2022 12:28

@Arewesureitisntbedtime have a look at the speed champions sets on Amazon -
quite a few reduced at the moment.

TheGirlWhoLived · 22/11/2022 12:28

Someone @LoopyGremlin maybe??! Was asking for air up- I’ve bought dd a bottle set (the winter steel gift set) which was £59.99 for a steel bottle and 7 pods. Then after I checked out they sent me a voucher through for one pack of free pods with my next purchase (I put two packs in my basket and paid for one) free delivery with evri

THEN it gave me a referral code saying your friend can have 20% and you get 20%
obviously I have no need for the 20% now as I have already got the bottle snd 9(!!) pods but it might work for money off your initial bottle?

I finally got my 'happy birthday' emails from hot diamonds with £15 off, so stacking all the discounts I got my DD a diamond initial necklace for £12 with delivery. She will be over the moon.

TheGirlWhoLived · 22/11/2022 12:31

My mistake it was @lovelychops after the air up discount. As I say I won’t be making any more orders, it’s just 20% off for the referee and the referer so I don’t ‘make’ anything per se - otherwise I would have popped it in the referral thread 😀

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile
I can second the recommendation for the surfing place in Bristol, it’s called The Wave
Thewave.com

also in Cardiff there’s a white water centre, you can do rafting and they also have an indoor surfing experience and a go ape style thing over the water
ciww.com

How late was your ‘birthday’ code?? It’s my ‘birthday’ today but I haven’t had an email…
