On this note we have done a (free) personalised message from Santa from Portable north pole the last few years.

My daughter was so excited when Santa said her name last year 🥲

Wow ive just done that he will love that thanks!

PalatineHill · 17/11/2022 11:52

I forgot all about the letter to Santa- oh no! Thanks for reminder!

oriel2013 · 17/11/2022 11:59

Oooh that's just reminded me we got lovely personalised letters from Santa via the NSPCC last year with several different designs to choose from so my son's got different wording etc which they loved. There's a suggested donation but you can give what you can for them

My last bargain purchase was this Chocolate Sprinkle Stix maker down to £10 from 24.99 for youngest DS

Someone mentioned a Hotel Chocolat deal! More details please - does anyone know if it's still on and, if so, what is it/is there a link? It must have been in one of the earlier threads before I joined this year's Christmas bargain bonanza...

In other news, I finally managed to get some Dairy Milk at a ridiculous time last night having spent what felt like half the day trying...

wonderingwhatsnext · 17/11/2022 12:05

Thank you for all the suggestions, it's really helpful. I'm going to have a good look tonight but I'm leaning towards a personalised jellycat and a book with a message in it.

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 17/11/2022 12:14

Thank you @redjoker just ordered some of those Schleich horses!

It was a Prime Day deal for a £40 hamper for £15, and was in and out of stock (with some orders cancelled), long gone I'm afraid.

Any suggestions of discounts on Air Up pods? Can my bear to fork out full price on making water smell like peaches and chocolate.
And is it me or is this ad inappropriate for something that's aimed at kids? (Might just be me - still in a grump for not "winning" the race to get the big chocolate bar).

ridiculous things but my daughter loves hers (still tastes like water to me). FREE-POD-758W2V gave me a free pack of pods yesterday.

Does anyone have any suggestions for presents for 3 year old boys?
He’s mine, but his birthday is in the next few weeks so I feel like I’ve exhausted all my ideas on giving relatives suggestions for that and I’ve not got any ideas about what they can give him for Christmas.

Athlebad · 17/11/2022 12:26

@Lochjeda and @Beingacatbed

I've just had a look at those personalised hoodies and they're for age 3-5 only. But, on the same site, there are these which come with PJ bottoms which are still in stock for most kids age ranges and are slightly more expensive but still a good deal.

My mum wants a new water bottle for Christmas. I could just get a boring Tesco one but I know she would like one with some eco credentials, her last one was brought at Kew Gardens and made of sugar cane! So has anyone got any suggestions?
It doesn't need to keep drinks cold or anything like that. Needs a sports type top not one you have to unscrew. Probably not metal as I think she would find the outside very cold- she gets cold hands

Adelais · 17/11/2022 12:40

My chocolate has arrived! Doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with it so fine for gifting.
Came in a massive book and strangely there were 2 Amazon delivery drivers who came to the door- it’s not that big! 😁

Boots have an offer on with this at the moment.
I’m undecided whether it would make a nice gift for a friend, would you be pleased to get it?

It's a good deal, it depends if your friend uses No7. Skincare can be quite a personal thing, I like no7 but don't think it would be any of my friends cup of tea.

Any suggestions please for a 3 year old girl who is emigrating? She's really very special to me and I'd like to give her a little something but I'm stumped for ideas. For an older child I'd get a little bit of jewellery but she's so young?

Perhaps a very special bear ? Even one from Build the Bear that you could record a message in ?

A lovely illustrated childrens book or Night Before Christmas that you could write a special message in and she could keep ?

DinosaurOfFire · 17/11/2022 12:56

@TherebytheGraceofGodgoI I find that skincare is very personal- I would hate to recieve it personally as I have really sensitive skin, most of my friends are pretty set on their existing skincare regimes too. Could you find out from her what makes of skincare she uses and if she likes No. 7 first?

My almost-3 boy is purely into large machines and destruction so these are a bit one note. Don’t have them yet but reviews seem good. Am watching for price drops on most:

Kinetic sand construction set

Car maze thingy

Car engine building thing

Beginner swingball

other ideas: play doh sets, magnetic tiles, dress up sets for his interests, bruder vehicles, ukulele, playmobil, green toys bath toys…
there’s also the Aldi toy special buys starting 20th nov, probably worth a look x

polmnlj · 17/11/2022 13:02

Smashing grapes sent me an email that earliest they can deliver is 1st of December. I don't mind because then I give the tasting box as a Xmas present.

paintyhands · 17/11/2022 13:06

My smashed grapes order is showing up on my account as ‘unfulfilled’ - does anyone else have this? I ordered two weeks ago.

Piccalino3 · 17/11/2022 13:08

Toytown have got the Jurassic World Ultimate Supreme Pyroraptor down from £85 to £35. It seems to have great reviews. I tried to buy the other day and it was out of stock.

CoffeethenCrochet · 17/11/2022 13:13

If anyone sees a cricut maker 3 bundle on offer for less than £350 i would be really grateful if you could share it here. Hobbycraft deal is rubbish, its actually more than last week as they have reduced machine but removed the accessory bundle. So works out much more expensive

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 17/11/2022 13:14

Can anyone recommend a decent plug in diffuser but not too pricey? I have a Neom one and I'm loving it but just wondering if there is anything out there as good but not as expensive?!

ilisten2theradio · 17/11/2022 13:18

My daughter keeps stealing my clinique soap so I thought I'd try the books code to reduce it a little and buy her some of her own. It works on the large bar but this no longer has a soap dish and I can't find out how to get one of those, and the code doesn't work on the more expensive travel trio. Any ideas anyone. I notice it's cheaper in John Lewis but I haven't one close by and don't want to pay postage for one item.

Octoberfishing · 17/11/2022 13:22

My Dairy Milk arrived! The packaging is very slightly damaged but not enough to cause a fuss, and certainly brilliant for £5 for two bars! Sell-by date is March 2023.
