I don't know what to get him.
He doesn't like stuff - no gadgets, posters, jokey gifts.
He doesn't drink
Is vegan so no food products
He doesn't have any hobbies really.
Things that have been a success in the past are a laptop tray and headphones.
I need help!!!

Maybe he doesn’t want or need a present? Not everyone wants more and more ‘stuff’. I once made my OH and envelope with lots of cut out paper hearts in it.

he’s still got it.

LimeCheesecake · 12/11/2022 13:48

Can you ask him ?

sheepdogdelight · 12/11/2022 13:52

Does he actually want a present? Or are you getting it more because you want to/think you ought to, than because he cares about it?

girlmom21 · 12/11/2022 13:55

A good quality waterproof coat or rucksack?

Or a nice (vegan) leather laptop bag.

Newuser82 · 12/11/2022 13:56

Clothes?

whosaidtha · 12/11/2022 13:56

He definitely wants a present, he was bit annoyed that I didn't make more of an effort for his birthday.

I have asked and he's says he doesn't know.

Coat isn't a bad idea actually. Thanks.

A wooly hat with an inbuilt light! Everyone on here recommended them last year and sure enough, it was my very fussy DH's favourite present.

Glitterbiscuits · 12/11/2022 14:11

Walking holiday where you can take the kids?
HF Holidays cater for vegans and on some breaks kids go free.

dumbstruckdumptruck · 12/11/2022 16:28

On the walking front...
Good quality gloves
GPS watch
National Trust has a lovely book called 'short walks in beautiful places' or something along those lines

Otherwise, how about a nice quality shave kit?

BIWI · 12/11/2022 16:32

How about one of these?

Mystery Guides

If he likes walking - these are walks where you have to work out whodunnit - giving you a walk around a particular city. It's suitable for children 8+ so you could all go with him (assuming that you're near enough one of those cities and your DC are old enough/would be interested!)

Cw112 · 12/11/2022 16:34

My dh also a nightmare to buy for he's a very simple man. I tend to start a list of things I notice he needs. Like a new phone charger or screen protector/ thermos/ football vest/ tights for cold weather etc and I make up a wee hamper with all useful things. I would also normally do a voucher for something like a date night or a nice dinner out. This year was harder because I'm due any day now so I got things like little Costa vouchers/ cinema voucher - things that are nice to do but don't take super long and he could bring a mate or his brothers to for a break. If he likes walking what about a nice coffee table book on walking routes around your area or a pair of binoculars or a nice compass etc.

newtb · 12/11/2022 16:35

Do the vegetarian society have anything? I know you can do a cordon vert course, maybe they have shorter ones.

Stompythedinosaur · 12/11/2022 16:46

Walking socks - there are some very luxury ones out there.
Tickets to something, theatre maybe?

Love this. It's perfect for us. Definitely added to the list.

@DuchessSilver Where did you get the hat/torch thing from? It sounds like my DP's dream gift! Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/11/2022 20:59

@whosaidtha Where do you live? I can recommend an excellent vegan restaurant if you're anywhere near the Midlands!

whatwasIgoingtosay · 12/11/2022 21:05

socks? shirts? t shirts? jumpers? fleece? basically, any useful things to wear

EricNorthmanYesPlease · 12/11/2022 21:09

A perfume studio experience to design your own scent. My DP was so sceptical at first but absolutely loved it.
He wears his fragrance for special occasions :)

A Pill-O-Pad if he uses an iPad.

JetBlackSteed · 12/11/2022 21:25

Won't help your DH OP, but for anyone else, my DH had a favourite gift last year! He's into DIY, and loved the £3.50 telescopic magnetic lifter tool from Screwfix.
