Nativity Set

I'm looking for a Nativity scene with figures that aren't glued down so you can move them around that includes the stable. It's for my dd6 so open minded whether it is traditional or more toy-like. Online searches are drawing a blank. Anyone seen any nice ones? Thanks!

Not yet but there's usually lovely Woodson ones around nearer Christmas. We've got one from Aldi and another from John Lewis that was a gift.

This Aldi one looks sweet

YYY-85 · 08/10/2022 18:11

We've had the Aldi one for a few years and it looks lovely and my DD loves playing with it

Devo1818 · 08/10/2022 18:26

Oh it's good to know the Aldi one lasts!
The Jojo Mamma Bebe one didn't get great reviews.

I have the willow tree nativity but that is not really for playing with

Marmite27 · 08/10/2022 18:48

We had a happyland nativity for years, and a willow tree one that sticky little paws aren’t allowed to touch!

caringcarer · 08/10/2022 18:48

When DH gets home I will let you where we got ours. We have stable with star on top, baby Jesus in the manger, Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men, 3 camels, Shepherds, lambs. It is quite rustic. All figures can be moved around. It is about 14 inches long and 12 inches tall. Mary, Joseph, Wise men etc are about 4 inches tall. We have had it for years but they still sold them last Xmas. We set it up in window for December. I can't remember now if we bought people separately to stable or not.

Ohnonevermind · 08/10/2022 18:50

We got the Lakeland advent calendar one, which the kids loved.

Mine is from traidcraft, handmade in the Andes. Had it 15 years

Needmorelego · 08/10/2022 18:58

I have a Playmobil one. Baby Jesus is the size of a toddler though. Poor Mary.

The Jojo Mamma Bebe one didn't get great reviews.

It got 4/5 stars across 20 reviews and all but a couple are overwhelmingly positive…

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 08/10/2022 19:11

We have a playmobil one and the Aldi one, both have survived at least 4 Christmases unscathed.

RagamuffinCat · 08/10/2022 19:16

We have the Jojo Maman Bebe one and it is lovely. We also have one from GLTC and that is lovely too but less detailed.

I have this one too, it's lovely.

Aldi one is fabulous, this will be its 5th year. Great reasonable set.

limitededitionbarbie · 08/10/2022 19:41

I got a really nice one from
B and m a few years ago. We still have it

Happyelfjokeday · 08/10/2022 19:44

Our GLTC one is still going strong after I reckon 5 years… and they still like to move the characters round & play nativity! We quite often manage to misplace baby Jesus though… he always turns up eventually. I remember thinking the Aldi one last year looked almost the same as our GLTC one! Sure it will be a much loved purchase

WWRGD · 08/10/2022 20:33

I got this one from Meri Meri

Devo1818 · 09/10/2022 12:50

Thanks everyone - great ideas!

I searched for years for my 'ideal' nativity set- something beautifully carved, subtle, in a natural material- wood or stone, at a price I could pay without wincing,.

Then one day I found a kitsch ,knitted set, (ebay or etsy, cant recall) with an angel who looks decidedly drunk and a bit lush, only two sheep, (no donkey! no ox!) and I was smitten!

Have spent the last several years searching for a donkey and an ox, also looking out for a camel for the magi, have added two rather beatific extra sheep who gaze lovingly at the shepherds, it absolutely clashes with our other decorations, but I just love it.

Stompythedinosaur · 10/10/2022 10:40

We had the Playmobil one, which worked well as the DC liked to play with it.

Floralnomad · 10/10/2022 10:55

We have a felt mouse nativity .

ConsuelaHammock · 10/10/2022 11:03

I love the play Mobil one. I have a beautiful tiny little Belleek one .
Id have a look online for a crochet or knitted one. My friend has a felt one from GLTC which is lovely. I have the first pic but the second one is lovely. Not for children though!
