I’m going to get home next week from a camping trip, so the equipment will be back in the attic. Whilst up there shall I just get every down and decorate for Xmas?

ir is it still early?

Bring it downstairs and hide it until December!

Fieldfly · 28/09/2022 22:10

Yes, obviously it is too early. Like, a quarter of year too early 🙄.

Flapjack637 · 28/09/2022 22:12

Far too early. All the magic will have long worn off by chistmas.

MrsMontyD · 28/09/2022 22:13

I can't get on board with this early decorating fashion , mid December is plenty early enough for me. But I would probably get the decorations down if I had somewhere to store them.

jocktamsonsbairn · 28/09/2022 22:13

You know what, it's such a depressing time all round right now . If you want your tree down from the attic and up then do it! You could do a Halloween theme first if you wanted.
No judging here! Go for it if it will make you happy.

Openmouthinsertfood · 28/09/2022 23:23

I'd do it! Xmas Grin I already have a few bits out... I usually wait till 1st November, but things might be creeping out before then...

PigletsFood · 28/09/2022 23:25

Absolutely not. It’s far too early.

FilthyforFirth · 29/09/2022 06:11

Do it! Life is grim at the moment. This is something lovely, wholesome and cheap that will bring you joy. It isn't hurting anyone. Plus your home, your rules!

Cric · 29/09/2022 06:15

There is a house by us that puts their tree up in oct every year. We look forward to it and alway walk round to see it when it goes up! It does make us laugh at Halloween though

Pompom2367 · 29/09/2022 06:20

If it makes you happy do it 🙂

EricNorthmanYesPlease · 29/09/2022 06:35

1st of November for me too. Get Halloween out of the way, and then BAM CHRIIIIIIIIISSSSTTTTMAAAAAASSSS.
Id get them down to save you a second trip, but if you dont have room to store them, just put them up.

Benjispruce4 · 29/09/2022 06:41

A trip to the attic is hardly arduous.

ivykaty44 · 29/09/2022 06:42

I dreamt last night that I hit home & my neighbour had a Xmas telly tubbiest theme front garden 🙈

I don’t have anywhere to store the decorations as it’s open plan & they’ll be in the way in the utility ir garage

No, no, no. I can't do it before December 1st and even that seems too early.

ivykaty44 · 29/09/2022 06:43

MsChatterbox · 29/09/2022 06:43

I'd wait. You'll be sick of the sight of them by Christmas

Benjispruce4 · 29/09/2022 06:44

December for me and even then about 10 days before the big day. Then it feels special. Plus we have a real tree so it would dry up.

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 29/09/2022 06:51

@ivykaty44 no. I LOVE Christmas Decorations, but they get so dusty &?they're a PITA to try to dust, so Nov1 , is early enough for me.

im going to have to bring mine down out the loft this weekend, but they're going to have to go 'somewhere' until Nov.

EfficientDynamics · 29/09/2022 07:10

Get a life

XYZ32 · 29/09/2022 07:14

First of November get it all up!!!!!!!
SOOO EXITED !!

dudsville · 29/09/2022 07:17

Some people live for Christmas, others live for other things. People can enjoy what they like. You'll not be alone in considering putting the yet up early OP, but I'm not a member of that particular tribe. It's December 1st for me, and I'm not even a member of my own tribe as all my friends get real trees so don't put them up until much later!

MakkaPakkas · 29/09/2022 07:21

It's batshit, but if you enjoy it and want to do it then you should.
Personally I go for mid December.

AuntieMarys · 29/09/2022 07:27

Ridiculously early. Put some fairy lights up. Enjoy autumn.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 29/09/2022 07:30

Its still September. Hallowe'en is a month away! How can it be a special time if you have the decorations up for a quarter of the year (or more!). Absolute madness!

Benjispruce4 · 29/09/2022 07:45

When I was a child (70s) there was one family in the street that put up Christmas decs in November. It was considered very, very odd to the point of think were mentally ill . These days people are openly mental! Joking!!
