Thought it might be useful. Will post some ideas in next post. Grin Apologies if there’s already a thread.

If you have a local aquarium then diving with sharks would be pretty fun! Or a ninja warrior place.

MindfulMummy · 27/09/2022 14:12

@ohohmyohmy123 Do you have an indoor skydiving centre near you? It's not cheap but i booked it for my 13 year old ds last year and he loved it! They do packages whereby you can pay for a VR dive if that would appeal..... it was the best thing ever, according to my ds. Yoh can get it sent as a voucher and can pay a little extra for official video or photos or takd your own.... might that work?

Hi all. Long time lurker here..... Has anyone seen any good deals on burrito blankets at all, please? My ds is desperate for one..... l'd like to get a fleecy type one if possible and want to avoid Amazon if l can. Thanks.

@Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough they're great, aren't they?! I've seen the ones on Etsy & Amazon (should have have said) but i was after a bargain..... was hoping l might be able to get one from Primark or somewhere.....let me know if you see any for less than £20.... l think they make a great practical but novelty gift....

@ohmyohmy123 how about a tour of a football stadium? Or tickets for the stranger things experience?

@Adelais I have a footie mad ds. He’s getting a couple of football shirts, football socks, and goalie gloves. And his older siblings are buying him FIFA 23 for his switch.

Just looking at purses for teen DD seeing as she's getting her first debit card soon and just ordered this - right up her street, half price Purse fenellasmith.com/products/wwf-panda-60th-anniversary-small-purse
(Use code WELCOME15 aswell)

Also got this lovely scarf for a fiver from M&Co and it's free delivery just now.
Happy with these two finds! Thanks to whoever posted about Posca pens, got them too!

Just place marking. I have 2 13 year olds who also have a joint birthday in Jan.

They don't need anything 'big' this year - have tech/bikes etc. i usually do the want/need/wear/read/big pressie plus small stocking.

So far I have:
Some kind of YA novel. Something mean girls for dd1, gothic for dd2. Both readers and generally lands well.

Odd socks for dd2. Primark PJ for dd1

Some kind of gothic jewellery for dd2/maybe a bubble tea kit for dd1 or the Aldi velvetiser

Cheapy hair straighteners for dd1 so she stops taking mine. Not sure for dd2. Maybe some training kit or football stuff.

Sweets/notebooks/minor smellies and one stupid thing for stocking.

No big present ideas for either. I may look at concert tickets for their birthday. I did think about an instax camera for dd1 but dd2 thinks she won't use it enough. Both want a pet but that's not happening.

leccybill · 01/10/2022 13:53

Why not to a pet? DD 12 has a fishtank in her bedroom, she is responsible for it and loves it.

lugeforlife · 01/10/2022 15:02

@leccybill dh is very anti for a number of reasons. I have suggested a fish tank but dd wants a pet she can hold. It's a whole thing

leccybill · 01/10/2022 15:48

Ah that's a shame. We got a puppy when DD was 10. I was very hesitant, having never had a pet, but it's been the making of us as a family, we adore her.

hellswelshy · 01/10/2022 16:48

lugeforlife how about a tortoise? Dd persuaded us to get her one, he's a mini type breed. Very low maintenance pet on the whole and so sweet!

PolkaDotMankini · 01/10/2022 17:58

I just got the panda purse for SIL using that discount code. Thanks @leccybill

Littlebluebird123 · 01/10/2022 18:17

@Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough

Thanks for bubble tea link. Perfect for one of mine.

I bought these Japanese sweets for my DD earlier in the year. Huge box and lasted a while.

Dd2 is into her makeup so helpful to have Dior tips. Thanks all.
