@Kentgirl2525 You're answering a question that nobody asked. Being environmentally and financially aware has nothing to do with this thread, you also didn't invent these things so no martyrdom required here, you'll probably find the majority of people already are more financially and environmentally savvy than the average person. And if people choose to complain about cost of living/heating I'm sure they'll have the decency to make their own thread on the appropriate boards instead of hijacking someone elses. Join the festivities or let others enjoy it.

Ooooh thank you for this! Will definitely be getting some Christmas books for my little one ☺️

This is a very privileged post. Many parents can’t afford horse riding lessons - out of interest, how much per month are you spending including clothes, helmets etc. The same with wooden toys.

You may want to check your privilege.

LaTangerina · 28/09/2022 11:01

@kentgirl2525 this is a thread on the Christmas board firstly so there's no need to jump on and be so offended by it.
Secondly how old is your child your buying horse riding lessons for Christmas for?
Just asking because it's often non parents who jump on others and preach because they feel they know better. When they actually have children they tend to mellow a little.
I'm asking because I searched your name & there is a recent thread about you expecting your first child.

LaTangerina · 28/09/2022 11:03

This is it.

Spooked would be the wrong word ... you're just not coming off very kind & just a reminder that your on the Christmas board & you jumped on a kids bargain gift thread to preach to everyone. Not sure how you thought it would go down.
You could make your own thread even on the Christmas board & have a good debate with people who want to debate with you.
Best of luck with the pregnancy BTW I'm going to assume you didn't mean to come across as so judgemental of others & are just having a bad day.

Ah I see. You are one of those people who think poor people are only poor because of their life choices.

I don’t want to derail this thread so this will be my last reply to you but you said with several examples that your privilege is due to your hard work.

I actually am in a financially privileged situation, buy my children few physical gifts I including second hand but I’m aware that others are not so lucky.

Can we get back on topic please? 🤣

Our local Entertainer has 20% off everything in store if you spend over £30 - worth a look

Devo1818 · 28/09/2022 11:32

Also, was waiting until Black Friday but Echo dot has gone down to £16.99! Surely won't go lower than that?

Sorry will do.

@Devo1818 it sounds like a good deal and even if it does go cheaper it can’t be much cheaper.

Have a look at camelcamelcamel to track the price.

I've actually enjoyed the derailing, but we may need a (second hand wooden) mop to clean up the hypocrisy dripping off it 😂 "Everyone should stop spending and buying so much, and donate the money to people less fortunate as so many are struggling tight now. Except me. I'm going to spunk a fuck tonne of money on horse riding lessons for my little princess, plus all the essential associated paraphernalia of course, because I work harder than everyone else so we deserve it!"
