fluffy Oh bugger! Our CT went up by 2.99%, before you add on the fire, coppers and parish "extras" - I suppose we should be "grateful" that Richie (with his posh heated mug) is giving us £150 of our own money back. 🤷‍♀️ especially as so much of our money has lined his friends pockets over the last couple of years

NoWordForFluffy · 28/02/2022 21:30

Forgot to answer, Crazy. The roofer is already instructed...we're in a queue of people needing roofing done though, funnily enough. Same roofer as was here the other week. 🙄🙈🤣

I saw the news item which said our increase was 2.99%, not including the other bits, Puss. So I think 5.99% is the max. And Sefton always increase by the max; sure as night follows day.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 28/02/2022 21:34

Crazy Martin Lewis has released an update on the energy price cap. Not sure if it's any use, but your DH could watch it so he's pre-armed when he speaks to a person tomorrow.

It mentions EON so if anyone is with them, it might be worth a watch here with subtitles

CrazyBaubles · 28/02/2022 22:00

Thanks puss. We've watched all the Martin Lewis updates and DH has used our usage over the last 3 months and the current price cap to do some calculations and announced our price shouldn't go up by too much but I'll wait until he speaks to them tomorrow.

We haven't received an update on council tax here but I can guarantee they'll go for the maximum they're allowed 🙄

My good news for the day is that I've just finished the mini blanket I made for my auntie. It's so so soft and warm, I really want to buy some of the yarn in colours I like to make myself one....

Morning! Into the 200s...time is rattling along. Xmas Grin

I'm just waking up a bit before getting up to use the cross trainer. I was a bit stiff yesterday, so I'm hoping it doesn't worsen after today's efforts.

It's Sainsbury's day today. Exciting times! 🤣

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 01/03/2022 06:28

Happy St Davids day Daffodil
fluffy I hope you're luckier than I was yesterday...many gaps on shelves again and no diesel.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 01/03/2022 07:42

Morning folks. I have a training day (well half a day) can't wait I am sure it is going to be very stimulating 🤔🥴

We don't pay our energy bills by direct debit. We pay on receipt of the bill so they can't just add any random amounts onto a direct debit. We have always done it this way. Our price is fixed till the end of April mind you which isn't the greatest.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/03/2022 08:08

You can argue the toss over energy DDs. I have a few times and they've always backed down. You just threaten to cancel it and pay on receipt of the bill, which they hate!

No subs / missing items, Puss. However, it hasn't appeared yet, and it's normally here well before 8, so that's a pain as DH has to leave with the kids soon.

Happy St David's Day to you too!

CrazyBaubles · 01/03/2022 08:23

Happy St David's Day Daffodil(and happy birthday to my lovely ddog who is 14 today 🥳)

I didn't know that was an option why - we've only paid by dd since we moved to this house because in the old one the landlady wouldn't let us change meters so we had to do the prepayment card thing which I hated.

I hope your shop arrives asap Fluffy

I've attached a pic of the blanket I finished yesterday - biggest yarn I've ever used and the huge hook made my hand ache but I'm pleased with the way it's turned out (although I feel I need to point out the colours aren't my choice)

I have a (hopefully) head down and get stuff done day in work as there are no meetings booked in. I'm aiming to get my to do list down from 20 to 5 maximum because I know loads will be added tomorrow and Thursday but there a few big things in there so I may be aiming too high...

Shopping appeared just after I posted! The birdies now have more sultanas. 😍

I had two meetings today and feel like I got nowhere with my work. I have so much building up and no time to do it. It's a nightmare.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 01/03/2022 19:16

Sainsburys have increased the price of sultanas by 11p. And DH likes Lemon Sole - that's gone up a quid! In 1 week!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/03/2022 19:43

And to add insult to injury...they don't know how plurals work! 🙄

Prices aren't even going up slowly now, it's just constant increases all the time.

They've also put Whiskas up by over a £ a box.
We had a leaflet for Morrisons with some vouchers, so won't be bothering driving an extra 8 miles going to 'S'ainsbury's' this wk.
Do need to go to Wilko - DH needs Hammerite to paint the garage door when it's warmer, it's £4 cheaper than B&Q.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/03/2022 19:55

I don't think it's a Sainsbury's issue as such. I looked at Morrisons online the other day and almost everything was dearer than Sainsbury's! They sent me a £10 off voucher, and that made my usual shop about the same price as Sainsbury's. I'll stick to where I get Nectar points!

Really bloody busy.

It's cold and wet here. Wasn't meant to be wet, but hey ho!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 02/03/2022 10:32

Was dry here supposed to rain overnight now wet. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
I might invest in some seaweed. BBC weather forecast is just a guess joke these days.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/03/2022 19:34

The roofer came to look today, so that's one step closer to getting the big hole filled!

It's been a grim weather day today. Not pleasant.

CrazyBaubles · 02/03/2022 22:19

Any idea when the roof repair will be completed Fluffy?

I'm in bed feeling a bit sorry for myself. Work has become even busier than I expected, I haven't done as much as I wanted even though I worked on until 6, the walk with ddog today was rubbish (wet, muddy and he was a forgetful nightmare) and DH has been a sarcastic PITA this evening because he's very very stressed. And to top it off, I got 4 of the 5 letters on my second try in Wordle today but took another 3 goes to get the correct first bloody letter 🤬

DH is downstairs still working so I've put a murder documentary on Netflix and am about to settle down with a sudoku - like a total weirdo, this combination makes me relax 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 02/03/2022 22:55

No, they'll contact DH with a date, I think, Crazy. Hopefully soon though.

Next door had roofers round today, so clearly they also had issues in the storm!

I'm with you on the work stresses. I'm getting nowhere fast right now. It's depressing. I did get Wordle in 3 though!

WreckTangled · 03/03/2022 06:19

Crazy I had the same with wordle!

DH thinks he's bought a dud van. Really don't want to go through all of this again 😭😭 wtf is wrong with people?? He's getting his friend (who's a mechanic) to look at it tonight.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2022 06:41

Where did he get it from, Wreck? There are still rights from private sellers, if that's where he got it from. Can be a pain though.

It's set to rain for the next 24 hours. All good stuff when you've a hole in the roof. 😬

WreckTangled · 03/03/2022 06:48

It was actually a company, thankfully. But that makes me even more cross tbh.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2022 10:25

But it's easier to resolve, hopefully. Especially as you're able to reject in the first 30 days. Hopefully they're more understanding of the law than the car sales ones!

WreckTangled · 03/03/2022 17:18

They're taking it back but now we have the hassle of trying to get a refund on the tax we paid when the vehicle still isn't in dh's name. I've got the V5 but I don't think it's been updated. The tax was bloody expensive too. And now we're back to square one only with less money to spare. Ffs.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/03/2022 22:35

Wasn't it able to be fixed? That's a shame. At least they were more reasonable than the car garage.
