I personally wouldn't buy a vehicle privately as there's no consumer protection.

If you have to, you'll either have to agree a deposit via bank transfer then go to the bank to pay the rest or take the full amount with him to hand over there and then. I'd hate to carry large amounts of cash with me though!

Well, there is protection, but I'd prefer to buy from a business!

We can't afford one from a business, there's nothing less than £7k anywhere near here. The trouble works paying a deposit and going back is that we will likely have to travel a good hour to get one anyway so would rather not go back. Such a pain.

I don't want £200 now only to be tied in to paying it back over 5 yrs - what happens if they add a year? It's not a loan, so they could, and I trust them about as far as I can pee...😡 The CTax £150 "gift" won't even cover the increase from last yr to this.

Me neither on the £200 front. It's scandalous. He did say that 57% would opt out if possible, didn't he? That's a huge number.

I think I end up slightly better off with the £150 than this year. I'm down overall due to NI and losing the marriage allowance though. Sigh.

I'm hoping for a 2% pay rise to cover the NI / marriage allowance. Not sure I'll get it, however.

I've had DH's for ages too. It's the first year since we were married that he's earned too much. At least it's meant he could pay for the car...I paid last time!

It's meant to be cold today, but dry. Unlike the weekend which is set to be WET.

I bet the student loan thing was about Plans 1 and 2. I'm a gimmer and have the mortgage-style one, which is 5 years of fixed payments and done, once you qualify to repay. I'll see if I can find out or maybe 70 can tell me!. Does he normally use the content from his email on the show? I do get that.

It's -2° here. Icy on the roads, almost had a couple of accidents also saw a badger toddling along the road.

Ah yes, thankfully not my type of loan. However...the interest rate on mine is based on the RPI figure in March (the rate is set in August, to run from Sept). So my interest rate is going to be hideous from Sept. Thank god I'm at the end of my loan, and will only have 6 payments left then!

Took me 6 goes today to get wordle. I think it was yesterday they used the American spelling of a word.

It's hard today. I ran out of time at 3 and need to go back when I'm not working!

I appear to have started a period...about bloody time! Must be Oct / Nov since my last one.

I got wordle in six today too. Dh didn't get it at all. I got the American one in three but only because I'd read people moaning about America spelling previously.

I just got it in 4 after Googling '5 letter words ending in XXX'. That was tough going.
