Hi all, been M.I.A all week as the house has been struck with a bug 🐛 ☹

Have to go into the office tomorrow, so I need to prepare myself. No working in my cosy joggers...

NoWordForFluffy · 06/02/2022 17:42

Ooh, I hate leaving the house on a work day, HeyUp! Good luck.

Are you all better now? Bugs are rife at this time of year!

I've cleaned the kitchen (etc) and done the ironing. I'm finally sitting down now!

Puss, our slabs get really grim, but where they are (side return / entry) doesn't get much sunshine. It annoys me!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 06/02/2022 17:54

Fluffy, the worst bits are in front of the shed and under NDNs tree at the bottom side of the patio remember the bit I fell off and nearly put my arse through his fence? so DH is dealing with that this year. 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 06/02/2022 18:50

That's a sensible plan, Puss! 🤣

Morning!

I ache today. Apparently low level weeding is really bad for you! 🙈🤣

We went into the Lego shop on Saturday and DS pointed out sets he would like for his birthday / Christmas. I just discovered that one is rare / retiring, so bought it from Smyths (amazingly with £9 off RRP). My parents can pay me back for it (or some, it's over their max budget, but I don't mind topping up!) nearer the time!

Busy day today as I'm off tomorrow. Always good fun. Not.

WreckTangled · 07/02/2022 07:51

Oh that's good fluffy!

I had an awful nights sleep. My hip is really painful and I was having awful heart palpitations/anxiety not sure why. Almost changed my alarm to a non gym time but left it in the end.

Two weeks then I have some annual leave. Phew.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 07/02/2022 08:36

Wreck are you sure it's not long covid?
fluffy well done with the lego.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 07/02/2022 09:30

I am on a day off and have a cup of tea on the go whilst slumped in bed, it is cold so I have my dressing gown on and my warm Christmas blanket.

I really need to dye my hair but I will be amazed if I bother.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2022 10:02

It's below 16° in our lounge. Clearly not heard the weather forecast as it's allegedly 'mild' if you don't take wind chill into account.

CrazyBaubles · 07/02/2022 10:02

Morning. Back to work today and my brain is being very slow to engage.

How is the office HeyUp?

puss in the old house we had flagstones in a garden where the sun literally never touched the floor 🙄
It was a death trap and I fell over a lot so I don't blame you for leaving the slabs to your DH at all!

What set did you get Fluffy?
I'm so sad that so far none of my nieces or nephews are / have been into Lego. I would have loved to be able to join in and help with it.

Any idea what you've done to your hip Wreck?
Sorry you didn't sleep well.

Why a well earned day of doing very little is completely underrated these days but sounds like exactly what you need.

WreckTangled · 07/02/2022 15:44

I have bad hips anyway crazy the don't usually hurt unless I do lots of walking (which I haven't) but do sometimes.

Don't think so puss just a bit stressed with work/life etc as it's so busy right now.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2022 17:30

It's this one, Crazy.

Lego is DS' obsession. He loves it! DD also does, but not to the same extent.

I'm off tomorrow for DS' autism assessment. It can take up to two hours to get there...I think that will be a whole day trip!

It won't be a day of leisure, that's for sure!

fluffy Lego has come one a bit, and it floats Grin just wait until he graduates to the technic version with motors. 😹 2 hrs is a bit of a trek, is it just the initial one and then you're more local for follow-ups?

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2022 19:02

No, I think this is it. Potentially! I'm not sure. It's in Chester and Google Maps said anywhere between 1hr 20 to 2 hours for the trip. So we have to plan for the worst!

WreckTangled · 07/02/2022 19:11

That's crazy. Even we have a child development centre closer than that! The whole thing is a complete minefield though I honestly don't know how anyone manages to navigate the system. And I work in it Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2022 19:13

Yeah, it's just over 50 miles. I hadn't realised Chester was so far away really, as I've only ever been by train. 🤣

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 07/02/2022 19:39

pm'd you fluffy

nerosnewfiddle · 07/02/2022 19:49

Hey everyone. Hope it's ok if I join. I just love Christmas! Sooo excited to get to know you all and share our love of the best time of year!!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/02/2022 19:56

Welcome @OrangeCinnamonCroissant and @nerosnewfiddle

Hope your appointment tomorrow goes well Fluffy and the journey isn't to horrendous. I made a mad dash into JL on Saturday for some posh chocs for MIL - I did look for you!
I was out for late lunch/early dinner with the in-laws celebrating a milestone birthday. The whole day was a mad dash tbh - up and back in one day.

WreckTangled · 08/02/2022 06:51

321 hope today goes well fluffy

I'm about to leave for my first full day on campus. Was much easier doing it online. 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2022 07:03

We got to the Lego shop and no further, Woolly, so we were near to JL, just not quite there!

We're up, as is DS. I'm curious as to what this will be like. They've had my questionnaire, but I've no clue what happens today. Just that it could take 2-3 hours.

I've promised a new Lego set afterwards, as well as McDonald's fries!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2022 13:04

We have an autism diagnosis for DS. The lovely psychologist is going to pass my contact detail to an organisation which provides training courses for parents to do so they can help their autistic children. All we wanted was to be able to access help for him!

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/02/2022 14:22

That's fantastic news Fluffy

WreckTangled · 08/02/2022 18:21

How do you feel about that fluffy? I hope you have access to the extra support he needs. Someone asked me if ds is 'a bit autistic' Hmm the other day. I don't think so but I guess he has some tendencies.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2022 18:34

Kind of relieved. It's taken us 3 years to get to this point! And hopeful that we can get help for him / us now. Just to help prevent meltdowns / help him come out of a meltdown.

If you met DS, you likely wouldn't guess as he masks out of the house. It's only those he's close to who see the traits and meltdowns.
