Morning!

It's rather breezy here today, but weirdly the wind warning is for tomorrow when it's not as windy! Confused

I'm going to have breakfast and then head to Sainsbury's. My trolley may take off on the way there!

I have the large (500g) block of butter on my Nectar prices, so I'm going to stock up on that now I've been paid. It makes it cheaper per gram than Farmfoods' butter, which I normally buy. Plus more Swedish Glacé for the same reason!

Not sure what else I'm doing today. Oh yes, making muffins for DS.

WreckTangled · 29/01/2022 08:30

It's still here today. I've just made cinnamon buns (jus rol). Need to take dd to collect her glasses later and pop into Tesco for the few bits I forgot yesterday at Aldi. Might make some banana cake as we have some sad looking bananas. Dh is working all weekend again.

WreckTangled · 29/01/2022 11:56

Just got ds' feet measured. They're a size 5 Hmm (he was 9 two months ago)

NoWordForFluffy · 29/01/2022 12:01

Bloody hell!

He's the same year as DD and we've just measured her at 1 1/2! I was (and still am!) a big foot though. 🤣

CrazyBaubles · 29/01/2022 12:31

Just checking in for a bit of a moan, sorry. DH and I have just had a row because the plans for today have altered a bit and he forgot to tell me, so instead of leaving around 5pm for a meal at 6:30 then drinks, we're leaving at 2:30 ish and the meal is at 4:30.
If I hadn't asked, god knows when he would have told me. Probably not until I ran out of time to get ready, which will be a feat in itself because I feel so rubbish.
We're also walking to the station rather than the people we're going with driving which isn't really an issue (it's only a 20 min walk) but it does change the shoes I'm planning to wear and is going to be a PITA because there's a 50% chance of rain but the restaurant is quite nice so need to stay looking tidy.
I'm fighting the very childish urge to skip going out altogether.
Today I'm just 😤😡, not helped by a very broken 5 hours sleep and being so hot I feel like I'm cooking from the inside out.

Wreck an adult size 5? That's the same size as me!

NoWordForFluffy · 29/01/2022 12:50

I'd be annoyed too, Crazy. It's quite a fundamental change of plan!

WreckTangled · 29/01/2022 13:24

I would be annoyed too! I hate last minute plan changes it really unsettled me Blush

Yes adult 5. Same size as me too!

Morning!

I woke just before 7, which isn't bad for me.

We have haircuts today. We were meant to have them last week, but my hairdresser had Covid!

I shall likely clean the kitchen (etc) before she comes, if I can drag myself out of bed soon.

I need to go to the allotment to feed the birds. And hopefully my sign has resulted in a delivery of manure to spread as well!

I might also dismantle the fruit cage as well, as the rabbits have eaten so many holes in the netting that it's pointless! 🙄

CrazyBaubles · 30/01/2022 08:34

Morning. Feeling hungover here - the change of plans yesterday were a PITA but was all forgotten when we were out.

Food was lovely and drinks were flowing and somehow we ended up booking a trip 😂 DH and his friend are already away in October and we've now booked flights so friends gf and I will go out and meet them on the day the rest of the group come home and spend a weekend away together as 2 couples.
It was joked about a few times, then DHs friend looked up the flights and they were only £50 return so we booked them.
Hopefully it won't be a disaster because we don't know the gf well at all but she seems lovely.

I'm now in bed debating moving to the sofa with a blanket so I can watch tv as DH is still snoring, plus my stomach still hurts and I need a distraction.

No plans today as far as I know. Just some washing, general tidying and a possible nap this afternoon.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/01/2022 10:51

Kitchen (etc) cleaned, haircuts done. I'm off to the allotment now and it's colder than I thought it might be out here! 🥶🥶

Spontaneously-booked trips are often the best, Crazy!

WreckTangled · 30/01/2022 11:36

Crazy we've booked Disneyland Paris and a couple of festivals with one of our couple friends whilst drunk Grin

I've just put a low carb banana bread in the oven and dd will make a normal one later.

CrazyBaubles · 30/01/2022 12:20

DH & I have booked spontaneous trips before, and my friend and I got drunk and booked a girly weekend in Belfast while sat in the pub but we've only ever been on one trip with other couples and it was a disaster (we went with 2 other couples. One was fine but the other argued with each other non stop and the girlfriend kicked off about every decision that meant they had to pay for something).
Hopefully this will be loads better though.

I've been well behaved and cleaned the bathroom, put the Iceland delivery away while DH was out and now waiting for him to come back with my lunch (Subway).

It's crisp and freezing but sunny here so we're wearing jumpers but with the back door open to air out the house 🥶😂

NoWordForFluffy · 30/01/2022 15:20

I spent about 90 minutes at the allotment. I fed the birds, dug the old parsnip bed over (finding a lonely parsnip in the process) and went round to the next door plot to dig more bindweed root out, at the point where it comes through to my plot. I'll never win that battle, but any root removed is better than not!

I didn't remove the fruit cage, as I need to dig the fence posts out to use them elsewhere. That's a job for another time!

My fruit bushes look like they're happy, despite their move, as they're all starting to get buds on them. I'll be glad to be able to see all of the fruit and access it easily, as I couldn't in their last position.

Mr Robin came and sang to me again. He is a happy chappy!

Morning!

I'm struggling to wake up today. I was sound asleep when my alarm went off and I've not quite come round yet.

Bit breezy here. How's everyone else faring?

WreckTangled · 31/01/2022 07:43

It's mild here. Was breezy when I went to the gym but not now. I've got such a busy week. I upped my weights on my single arm row to 16kg I'm really happy about this as I'm a bit of a weakling Grin

CrazyBaubles · 31/01/2022 07:45

Morning. Awoken with a crash this morning - one of our potted Christmas trees (the healthy one that's been outside the whole time) fell over in the strong winds at 6:10 this morning, breaking the very nice (and not cheap) pot it was in 😩
Anyone know if it can be fixed? It broke into 3 pieces (one big one then 2 smaller (but still decent sized) pieces) - if it can be bodged back together I'd rather that because we have 2 matching trees in 2 matching pots and the big piece is 2/3 of the whole thing so we could easily hide that patched up pieces.

I've picked up the pieces but cant move the tree until DH has gone to work because his car is in the way of where I want to put it.
Annoying start to the morning!

NoWordForFluffy · 31/01/2022 08:17

Crazy, something like this will do the job nicely.

CrazyBaubles · 31/01/2022 13:43

Thanks Fluffy. I'll have to scout some out as it's apparently out of stock in my local store.

Work is very slow going today. Had some new tasks in that are going to be very laborious 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 31/01/2022 16:49

Do you have a Screwfix nearby?

CrazyBaubles · 31/01/2022 22:10

I'm not sure Fluffy but I've sent the link to my dad and asked him to pick some up for me as he seems to go to some sort of builders merchants several times each week (more because he likes the burger vans at most of them than because he actually needs things) and he has trade cards etc for a lot of places.

Today has been an odd day. I started back on a medication today that I've meant to be on for years but I ran out months ago and wanted to try without it but dr told me off.
It works well but it's been so long I have to build tolerance back up and I'll be getting delightful side effects for the next few weeks I think (mostly upset stomach, headaches and strange appetite that swings quickly between feeling sick and feeling starving).
Today I've eaten almost nothing but my stomach is churning - I put tea on for us but the smell of it made me heave and I had to stay in work while DH ate 🤢

I'm going to bed because I can't wait for this day to be over!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/02/2022 06:47

Morning!

How are you feeling today, Crazy?

I don't need to start at 7 today (calm before the storm), so I'm still in bed for a bit longer!

We completed DS' pre-screening ASD questionnaire last night for his appointment next week. That was long! I'll scan it and send it over when I start work.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 01/02/2022 07:32

Morning.

I hope the side effects don't last for long Crazy.

I am going with my son to take his car in for service and MOT (yes I am living the dream as always). It is in a real pain in the bum place to get to so both of us hate going 🤣

CrazyBaubles · 01/02/2022 08:26

Morning. Thanks both. I struggled to sleep because of crampy pains and all I've done since I woke up is burp Blush So glad I'm WFH for now so only the dog can hear me.

Fluffy I'm not sure of the process for ASD diagnosis. Will this be the first of several appointments?
Youngest nephew most likely has autism but I think the process is different for him as he already has a healthcare team due to his CP.

Why I hope the MOT goes smoothly for him. I hate taking my car in for it because it's ancient and they almost always find something wrong!

WreckTangled · 01/02/2022 11:14

Hope you're feeling ok crazy

Enjoy why Grin

Fluffy the diagnosis process is long and slow, well done on completing the form.

I just had my numeracy exam. I got 95% so annoyed I got one wrong. Just having a coffee now and got ds some more school trousers has he managed to lose one pair and get a hole in the others that I only bought at Christmas Angry

CrazyBaubles · 01/02/2022 22:05

Well done on the exam Wreck - 95% is amazing.

What is your ds doing to his trousers? 😂 I remember dsis having to replace eldest nephews school uniform several times, item by item, while he was in primary school.

My stomach is churning all over the place but I managed to eat tea (cottage pie), walk the dog and tidy up before cross stitching.
I've been doing the Croeso sampler and I've hated every stitch plus the actual pattern wasn't symmetrical and I have no idea what some of the parts were which I didn't like so I've altered the pattern a fair bit.
There's one more thing around the outside I was going to do but I've hated working on it so much I think I may call it finished now Blush
