I didn’t forget anything but I ditched the third stuffing due to a severe case of cba.

Morethanthis71 · 29/12/2021 12:31

I forgot the parsnips (actually I cba to cook them, does that count?)

deadlanguage · 29/12/2021 12:59

I forgot stuffing as well, although we had beef so it didn’t exactly go anyway!

Ihateyou100times · 29/12/2021 13:08

I forgot to defrost the Turkey AGAIN and ended up at my dads lol

TangledNemo · 29/12/2021 13:12

Stuffing is the only part of Christmas dinner I actually like. I’d be devastated if I forgot it.
My husband made chips and roasties but forgot mash. No biggie for me as I don’t eat it anyway.

DifficultBloodyWoman · 29/12/2021 13:24

I’ve found my people!

I always forget something. Except I wasn’t hosting this year so it was ok. But when I am cooking, I always manage to forget something!

emmathedilemma · 29/12/2021 13:24

Forgot to serve cranberry sauce although my mum made and brought it at the back of the fridge and I don't like it so didn't even notice it was missing.

MarmaladeCloud · 29/12/2021 13:25

The sprouts, they are still in my fridge. I don't think anyone likes them anyway.

Lovelydovey · 29/12/2021 13:27

The DC wrote me a menu so that I wouldn’t forget anything. I was disappointed that only I wanted Yorkshire puddings so skipped them. And we skipped all the desserts as we were too full. I did forget to serve the cauliflower cheese on Boxing Day though…

Aworldofmyown · 29/12/2021 13:28

Chestnuts!! When will I use them now 😆

Thepineapplemystery · 29/12/2021 13:32

Parsnips. DH was gutted.

nannybeach · 29/12/2021 13:35

How did you know!!! The bread sauce,no one else likes it,and Yorkshire puddings (well come on,that's not normally served with turkey!)

MrsMorningStarOfBethleh · 29/12/2021 13:55

Braised red cabbage got left in freezer (homemade in advance 😋) but completely forgot. Oh well, will have with NY dinner.

KatherineJaneway · 29/12/2021 14:37

@Aworldofmyown

Chestnuts!! When will I use them now 😆
Chestnut and mushroom soup.

Pheasant with chestnuts and orange zest.

Chestnut pancakes with grand mariner and chantilly.

"Cheatnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" 🎶🎶 or just roasted in the oven...yum...a real treat in New York City, US...unless they are in a tin...then what TitianaBis says.Xmas Wink

Baby new potatoes (though we had tonnoes of food so not really missed )
I made Yorkshire Puddings from scratch for DS but had some Aunt Bessies on standby just in case .

I've got a bag of cooled chestnuts in the pantry but only I like them so they can wait a while .

HeyupitsChristmas · 01/01/2022 13:16

Parsnips.

Will eat them tomorrow in a slow cooker stew. Xmas Grin

user290814356289 · 01/01/2022 13:59

Parsnips and my spiced cabbage

I made my parsnips into spiced soup and will freeze the cabbage for next Christmas

Equimum · 02/01/2022 10:11

The red cabbage. I even stayed home on Christmas Eve when everyone else went for a walk to prepare it! We ate it on 27th!

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 02/01/2022 10:38

I didn’t forget anything for either of the two Christmas dinners. But I haven’t yet got around to making the tebirkes (Danish pastries) that I had planned.
