Thanks @Carrie76 for the title. Just for everyone’s info - the chat was about tablet size 😁

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

For stocking fillers and bulking out- highly recommend Tiger. I got DD a metal straw, cookie cutters, notebooks, pens, pencil case, photo holder, avocado growing whatsitthingy, face mask holder, a bauble, all as cheap as chips.

Carrie76 · 02/12/2021 20:06

@sorryiasked thanks so much for offering and for checking the cost looks like I may as well pay the 14

RJnomore1 · 02/12/2021 20:10

I am most annoyed I paid £10 for the Percy tin already. Then ate all the percies and had to buy more 🙈

I’m also in a quandary. I ordered DH uncle and his wife a quite pricey candle and diffuser set but I don’t think it smells nice. I won’t return it as it got me a gift with purchase I want to keep but I don’t know whether to give them it as everyone’s taste is different, it looks nice and they may like it or get something else (and if so what!)

@PinkDaydreams

Has anyone been into Lidl for the wooden toys? Just wondering if there are any different train sets instore to the ones online?
@PinkDaydreams I just came on to tag you!! I went in today and they had a great selection. I left very happy with this selection. I nearly caved and bought Brio. So glad I held out now. At £5.99 total Bargain.

@PinkDaydreams me again. Pretty much same selection as online. Not brilliant for track - though I liked the construction set - but great for the trains. I have found it easy to pick up second hand track over the years but our electric secondhand trains are a bit worn out. Xmas Smile

PinkDaydreams · 02/12/2021 20:25

@Dreamingofwalden thank you so much!!! They look perfect! I was showing DH the brio ones the other night and he was insisting that I order the brio but I told him I'm waiting for the Lidl event....like you I'm also glad I haven't ordered the brio as those brio look great!

Picklesbaby · 02/12/2021 20:25

@Dreamingofwalden can I ask did you see any dressing tables in Lidl ? Its say they have cancelled them online 😔

Thisisbatshit · 02/12/2021 20:25

Thanks all for the great suggestions for my niece. Too many suggestions to tag you all but your help was much appreciated!

Sorry, I didn’t see any - though I wasn’t looking out for them. ☹️

We have a couple of Brio ones too but my boys actually prefer the Lidl ones. Win win!

Any suggestions for fancy bubble bath currently on an excellent discount? Just got allocated my boss in works secret santa. Single lady, youthful mid 50s, likes the finer things in life and enjoys nothing more than a good soak in the bath. She loves Neom but that is over the £10 budget

Ashmonster · 02/12/2021 20:51

Quick question as I'm looking for advice from those more in the know, please.

Does anyone know if the Van's Old Skool platforms are still in fashion amongst the 17-18 year old bracket? I thought I'd just bought the normal ones, but somehow got the platforms and can't reorder as they don't have others in her size. I'm totally unfashionable so I haven't got a clue!

Thanks to anyone who can throw some light on this minefield that's teenage fashion!

Ruralretreating · 02/12/2021 21:00

@Squ1ggle my local Sainsbury’s had a discounted Habitat set of 3 shower/bath gels that was around £10

sittingonacornflake · 02/12/2021 21:02

Ruralretreating · 02/12/2021 21:03

@Squ1ggle it was this one I think, or very similar. Looks nice, I bought it for a discerning friend

I was living abroad until recently and am only finally catching up on that series Miranda. Finale this evening, (spoiler: she marries Gary) and bloody hell but who pops up for a special guest appearance? Only the other Gary, the Mumsnet stalker! Verily, Barlow, you are the Ghost of Christmas Present 😁.

Ah looks lovely but it's shower gel rather than bubbles and I definitely want bubble bath for her. Thank you for looking though

LastStarFighter · 02/12/2021 21:11

My Yoshi bag(s) arrived StarStarStarStarStar

Very nice!

10% cashback on Feel Unique at Quidco, 13% at Top Cashback if you're a new customer, which brings the MB bauble down a bit.

@MrsS92

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to bulk out my 5 year old daughters pile? She has had a lot more spent on her than my 2 year old but my youngests things look bigger. I don’t think she’s old enough to understand the concept yet so just wanted a few budget ideas to even it out a bit. She loves being creative, and things like Polly pockets/barbies. I absolutely love this thread, thank you everyone Xmas Smile
Does she need a new fleece blanket/ duvet set/ dressing gown/ fancy cushion - dd has one that you change the picture by wiping the sequins.

Is there anything boxed she's having that you can build then wrap it/ cover it with paper standing?

Alternatively get some boxes (even storage boxes you can later use) and put a toy that's a bit smaller in there? I've just had something delivered from Amazon that looks awful to wrap so I'll get the postage sticker off and wrap the box which will be easier plus it'll bulk out a lot as the box is double it's size. DD won't notice the size as it's a top toy on her list.

Remember to pile hers apart slightly so visually it's taking up more space- or if you have a small table put it behind her presents to stack the back ones higher?

Hopefully something there helps!

MeredithGreyishblue · 02/12/2021 21:44

Where's got the huge gift bags this year? I didn't see any in B&M or HB

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 02/12/2021 21:52

Not bubble bath but this set from nuxe at m and s is what I’m thinking of getting my very similar lady.
I have been browsing at M&S and found this: www.marksandspencer.com/huile-prodigieuse-gift-set-the-prodigieux-4/p/hbp60523868?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share
