Thanks @Carrie76 for the title. Just for everyone’s info - the chat was about tablet size 😁

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Only a small thing, but I’ve got a code for £5 off a £50 spend at Argos if anyone wants it?

Someaddedsugar · 02/12/2021 18:00

£5 off £50 at Argos - URTXJK5L

Please say if you've used it so the next person doesn't try the code Smile

@MrsS92

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to bulk out my 5 year old daughters pile? She has had a lot more spent on her than my 2 year old but my youngests things look bigger. I don’t think she’s old enough to understand the concept yet so just wanted a few budget ideas to even it out a bit. She loves being creative, and things like Polly pockets/barbies. I absolutely love this thread, thank you everyone Xmas Smile
Similar issue with mine who likes the same things. I've gone to TK Maxx and The Works for some cheap craft/science kits/puzzles/Kinetic sand.
PinkDaydreams · 02/12/2021 18:05
@PinkDaydreams my husband returned from Sainsburys with some last week 😆
I was in there today!! Didn't think of checking. Is it solid colours you have?

How about those cake mix box sets you can buy from the supermarket? I bought some icing pens from Asda today and a tub that's got four different types of sprinkles in it, £2 each set.

I was in The Works this week and they had some really good craft sets in quite big boxes, 2 for £7. Great range of stuff, loads to choose from! They had lots which would be suitable for your girls age.
Scout2016 · 02/12/2021 18:13

@MrsS92 is there anything useful that she needs that you could give her, like a big puffy winter coat? Box set of books from the works? Or big box of craft stuff like hobby craft do?

How about an easel? Or one of those colour in houses from hobby craft they are quite big set up.

Or that age my dd got a tent from IKEA and she loved it! Still uses it now at 9.

Box of cookie cutters, rolling pin and playdough (or make it if you are sticking to a budget.)

Also ingredients for gloop (corn flour and water), cloud dough which is baby oil and corn flour or you can do with conditioner too. We use litter trays at home but at work we use the tuff trays with stand (cheapest from builders shop or amazon)

Kinetic sand, I got a big bag for my sensory loving daughter for Christmas.

Family games, we liked bugs in the kitchen, jenga, guess who, dobble, connect 4, monopoly/cluedo/game of life junior, orchard toys games.

Dressing up costume, wrapped in a big box makes it more special.

Could you wrap some of the smaller bits in tissue paper and put in a big box lucky dip style. I did this one year with mini figures for my eldest she loved it and the small gift looked bigger.

Garden toys - pogo stick, hula hoop, pogo ball are all fairly cheap but could look big wrapped.

A box of her favourite treats.

@RainbowPhilosophy How about something like this?

@MrsS92

I’ve just got lots of things from Jaques of London in their daily deals for my 4 year old, they come beautifully packaged. Some nice games and learning toys.

QOD · 02/12/2021 19:06

Wohooo my Marc Jacobs bargain bag has cleared U.K. customs!
Dammit it’s cost me £48.44 😂 saving me a grand total of £12.56 on the U.K. price 🤦🏻‍♀️😆

RainbowPhilosophy · 02/12/2021 19:06

@doistayordoigo that looks great - thank you so much for the suggestion.

DentalWorries · 02/12/2021 19:08

I think I remember someone was looking for gingerbread houses. I saw these for £4.99 in Aldi which come pre assembled if you’d rather avoid the faff of actually building it and just want to decorate

IKEA has Christmas sweetie style gift bags, 12 bags for £2.50

RainbowPhilosophy · 02/12/2021 19:15

@PinkDaydreams it's a single strand of tinsel with multiple colours on. I would take a photo for you but it's too dark to see it properly as it's out in our conservatory. If you want one I can get one in the morning?

Bryna · 02/12/2021 19:17

@reasysteady Aldi may still have some 800g for £4.99 and the chance to find a golden ticket - prizes £500 or £10,000

sorryiasked · 02/12/2021 19:22

@PinkDaydreams "widdle wonderland" (!) on amazon have several colours inc green and purple

I live within walking distance so will pop into Sainsbury's tomorrow, thank you so much for the info and kind offer! Kicking myself that I didn't look today!

Mummyoply · 02/12/2021 19:26

Does anyone have any recommendations for men's gloves, nice posh ones, really warm (for Winter family days out and walks) not leather? Oh and for small hands? I'm stumped!

PinkDaydreams · 02/12/2021 19:38

Has anyone been into Lidl for the wooden toys? Just wondering if there are any different train sets instore to the ones online?

Alwaysroomforcake · 02/12/2021 19:44

@Tombero

This isn’t a discount, in fact it’s £300 a ticket, but Red Bull have just announced the dates and opened bookings for their factory tours next year. Just in case anyone else is like me and has an F1 obsessed DH.
@Tombero I got tickets for my husbands 40th a few years ago, it was a brilliant day!
