When do you decorate for Christmas?

No longer than a week before Christmas, usually around the 20th. They come down on 12th night.

First weekend in December. We've got an advent window to do on 11th December so that will wait. They will come down by NYD.

Outside lights first weekend in Dec.

Tree around 15th Dec - whatever date the Saturday is!

Usually first weekend in December but we are mid refurb so will delay. However we've got people coming mid December so plan to be decorated for then this year.

First weekend in advent usually. That's this weekend, but it's DSs birthday and we don't do Christmas until after his birthday is over. So will get stuff out today, store it, and then I'll probably put it up Monday or Tuesday.

Second week in December for us usually as we leave it up for ages afterwards. DH birthday on 9th Jan, so usually a day or 2 before then.

The tree will go up at the start of the school holidays, but any Christmas cards we receive will be up as soon as we open them.

I have a little nativity scene I put up on the first Dec, and a little candle ornament that goes up on the same day.

Weekend before Christmas usually as we have a real tree and I don't want it looking sad for Christmas itself. Will probably do it on 18th December.

Yesterday

The first weekend in December. DS21 still insists on choosing the tree every year 😂

We usually do the 1st Dec/first weekend in December but are a bit earlier with everything this year so we're going to put the tree up tomorrow and outside lights have already been up a week. Partly it's because it's our first Christmas in our new house so we're all excited and partly it's because we've got a free afternoon tomorrow so may as well!

Usually first weekend in December, but it’s my Mum’s funeral on the Friday so I’m thinking I’m going to put them up today instead as I don’t feel like I’ll even want to put them up afterwards.

I’m tempted to put ours up tomorrow. Might put the tree up, but wait til next weekend to do our outside lights.

Advent Sunday was the tradition when the kids were at home. Now live with dp and we're going to wait until they come back from university around the 16th

Christmas Eve.

I always do it after the kids have gone to bed the night before the first Sunday of advent, so that they wake up to a Christmassy house at the start of advent. Looking forward to putting a Christmas film on in the background tonight and getting the decs out

Due to MUCH headpecking from the birthday boy... the tree is now up. 🙈

First Sunday of Advent or as soon as I'm organised enough afterwards.

Usually around 2 weeks before Christmas and then we take them down the weekend after new year.
This year I think we're putting them up early December though.

Our village Christmas lights are usually switched on the last Friday in November so we usually do it that weekend… house is lovely and cosy now!

Up Christmas Eve and down Boxing Day or the day after if we've had people over for dinner. If we go elsewhere for Xmas Dinner then they don't go up at all.

Mid December usually, I don't have any hard and fast rules it happens when (a) the mood takes me (b) I feel up to going into the loft and (3) I have a willing helper.

Maybe the weekend of the 11th/12th this year, probably no sooner.
