Secret santa for a "luxury" man

I've drawn my lovely colleague in the secret santa and I'm stumped!

He's young, early 30s and loves the finer things in life. He only wears discreet elegant designer clothes, dines at fancy restaurants and likes high end whiskies.

What can I get him for £15??!!!

a bag of artisan freshly ground coffee (go to a specialist coffee roaster if you're in a town that has one, or order online from somewhere like this)

and possibly some fancy sugar crystals or fancy biscuits to go with it

Ladyladylady · 25/11/2021 20:56

@JumperandJacket, you should be on commission! I’ve just ordered 3 of the tasting sets, thank you x

SunShinesBrightly · 25/11/2021 21:09

@ODFOgrinch

A pair of black silk socks.
🤣🤢🤮

[quote evtheria]Oh! And E) a monogrammed notecard set off Papier with his name or initials. There’s a referrals thread where you can ask mnetters (or me Wink) for a tenner off.

I recommend this design, safe but stylish:

Not with a black border.
That’s for funeral/death notices.

SoftSheen · 25/11/2021 21:25

I'd get a Victorinox Swiss Card.

IME they are liked by most men. No one really wants whisky stones or socks.

RaisinFlapjack · 25/11/2021 21:31

Whisky should be drunk at room temperature!

Hesma · 25/11/2021 21:33

Some nice chutney to go with a Christmas cheese board or a bottle of port

Oldnews · 25/11/2021 21:46

Thank you for all the ideas! Gone for the whisky - he'll love it!

Molton Brown shower gel bauble £12

Okigen · 25/11/2021 22:49

One of my colleagues managed to find an one way flight ticket for £15 from London to somewhere abroad. The receiver did go and said it was the coolest idea ever.

ODFOgrinch · 25/11/2021 22:58

@SunShinesBrightly

ODFOD!

Don't knock it til you've tried it. It is a boring but luxurious gift. One of those things you try then can't go back to wool. My father (come to think of it most of the men in my family) swear by them.

eggandonion · 26/11/2021 00:29

My luxury ds would like the silk socks or the Swiss knife thing.

irregularegular · 26/11/2021 09:27

I disagree that no-one wants socks! Really good socks can be a great gift. I've bought good walking socks (Darn Tough) for BILs that we just buy small gifts for and they have definitely gone down well. I'd appreciate them too.

DarlingFell · 26/11/2021 10:02

A ‘luxury’ man sounds like something stath let’s flats would say

Anyway, I would buy him a bottle of Hedonist, gorgeous Shiraz from Waitrose, £17 a bottle. Can’t go wrong with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

littlepieces · 26/11/2021 10:32

My DP fits this description. I'd suggest nice socks, mini whiskeys, or a posh notebook.

Haha

Oldandcobwebby · 26/11/2021 12:54

Pantherella socks. Lovely fine material. No logos, thank heavens. They have been a sartorial favourite for decades.

Oldnews · 26/11/2021 16:48

@DarlingFell he definitely is a luxury man. I'm married to a no- frills man myself and the daughter of an outdoorsy-premium man :)

Some lovely ideas of things I'd like myself here too- will try the hedonist wine and cocoa runners so thanks so much for the suggestions!

My dh likes the finer things and loved a bottle of truffle honey I got him from Fortnum and Mason. They also do great biscuits in little tins you could get.
