I usually do mine the first weekend of December but I'm feeling particularly festive this year plus my DD5 is desperate to put it up.
Who's got theirs up already?

No trees for us yet but we will be filling the house with fresh garlands and other foliage on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving. We also have several trees outside with permanent lights that we use on and off throughout the year.

RunRunGingerbreadMan · 23/11/2021 18:12

Not yet, since I was a child it has always been the first Saturday in December and I've just continued with that. I quite like seeing Christmas lights etc appearing gradually though, especially when I'm driving in the dark.

ineedaholidayandwine · 23/11/2021 18:13

Busy on Sat 4th when it was going up so now it's going up on 3rd after I've done work Grin
Trying to hold off until then

Tittyfilarious81 · 23/11/2021 18:14

Mine is up it makes my dd and me happy 😁

Amberflames · 23/11/2021 18:15

God no. It will be a bone dry fire hazard by Christmas Eve if it goes up now.

AutumnAnn · 23/11/2021 18:21

Not yet, i want to put them up but haven't had a chance, will probably do it this week though

lazylinguist · 23/11/2021 18:38

No. We always have a real tree and buy it around when schools break up - 15th December or so. I haven't bought a single present yet either. I don't do early Christmassing. Not because I'm not festively-minded, but because starting early makes it less festive.

YukoandHiro · 23/11/2021 18:38

Noooo

Livpool · 23/11/2021 18:40

No - it is far too early. I have seen others have them up though

OldTinHat · 23/11/2021 18:47

Mine always goes up the weekend after 12th December. I can't break the tradition of celebrating my mums birthday without a hint of Christmas first, even if I am 50 and she lives hours away from me!

Livefortherain · 23/11/2021 18:50

We put ours up on Sunday.. 3/5 of us have Covid so needed something pretty to look at 😂

DGFB · 23/11/2021 18:51

No, not until the first weekend in December

Porcupineintherough · 23/11/2021 18:53

Ours goes up on the second Sunday of advent and down on 12th night. So that's what? Another 10 days or so?

torthecatlady · 23/11/2021 18:58

Nope. Last weekend of November we will be putting the tree up. Although I have started hanging lights in the windows but these will not be turned on until the tree is up.

Cerridwen83 · 23/11/2021 18:58

Yep! Haven't finished decorating it yet though.
Not even sorry Smile
The house already feels lovely and cosy.

CelebrateAndDream · 23/11/2021 18:59

No.

nancybotwinbloom · 23/11/2021 19:06

Normally we do it on 1st december but it's mid week. Have too much on this weekend so it will be the Friday after I think it's 3rd.

Sciurus83 · 23/11/2021 19:07

No, we get a real one and it'd be a mess. Also I'd be fed up of it. I do like early December though as we tend to go away for Christmas itself so enjoy it for a few weeks before

Jumpingintochristmas · 23/11/2021 19:07

Not yet. I’m thinking Monday as away this weekend.

thefirstmrsrochester · 23/11/2021 19:15

Getting a real tree so it won’t be up till the 15th or thereabouts. Going to put up an outside LED one this weekend in solidarity with the rest of the street to cheer up a neighbour who starts cancer treatment on Monday and who loves looking out the window to see twinkling lights.

TheChosenTwo · 23/11/2021 19:27

Nope, booked to go and get ours on the 12th December, we usually go either the second or third Sunday in December. It’s way too early for me!!

BettyfromBristol · 23/11/2021 20:01

We haven't decided if we're doing Christmas at all this year yet, we don't do it every year. If we do, the (real) tree will go up round about the solstice. Or we might just skip it and do it next year.

Christabellaxx · 23/11/2021 20:34

Yup - first time in my life it’s gone up before second week in December . Just decided a bit of festive cheering up was what was needed . Kids cannot believe it 😂

sohypnotic · 23/11/2021 20:46

Yep, first main tree went up Sunday, with outside lights. All the room decorations went up the weekend before (living/dining, kitchen, hall, landing, bathroom, DD bedroom). Second tree will go up this weekend - ran out of time Grin

Topbird29 · 23/11/2021 20:55

Getting a real one from scouts group - so sat 4th dec for us. Deep clean the house the week before, as won't be able to get to some places (and won't care)...for about a month once the decorations go up!!
