@Bezzi DS got a Thrustmaster wheel and pedals for Xmas last year and it's been great.
Couple of things to bear in mind - his has 2 pedals rather than 3 so he didn't need to worry about clutch control, and also it fits on his gaming chair, (not sure if they do free-standing ones)
It's stood up to a year of heavy forza use with no problems.
You do need to set up the calibration when you first use it, so maybe do this in advance of xmas morning as it takes a little while.
