Poor old Gary - he’s gone from money off his concerts to being drowned in hot chocolate 🤣. Thanks for the title @iklboo Grin
@Newdad19 you have to get a desk bell for your post office set!. DD, now 14, mentioned yesterday how much she'd loved hers.
Hahaha what a great idea. Just ordered.

He is going to be giving our local post office a run for its money at this rate

Straysocks · 18/11/2021 09:34

@MeredithGreyishblue Almost 10 so that is a factor, thank you. I had the impression that the OQ had the option of games & fitness but also experiences/learning. I am a bit wowed by the cost of the Switch and the price of games.

Newdad19 · 18/11/2021 09:35

@Straysocks

Trying again for thoughts/referrals on Occulus Quest. Considering this v Switch, which would you recommend? I'm clueless. Thank you!
The oculus is a great piece of kit but for day to day use I think it's a bit of a novelty. Not the sort of thing that you would get hours and hours of Play with every day in my opinion.

Whereas the switch has endless games available and is more applicable to be used daily, by all age groups and including when travelling

We have both and that's been the experience anyway.

Fuckingfuckssake · 18/11/2021 09:35

@Straysocks I looked at the Oculus but it's not recommend for younger children who's eyesight is still developing, so we went for the Switch, it's never on offer unfortunately, best bet is probably Very with a new customer discount.

If anyone, like me, was kicking themselves for not getting the Savile Row robe, the offer is back on - code ROBE20
@Autumnleaves4 if you’re still looking, thanks @PoirotAndHisMoustache, mine arrived very quickly and is such great quality for the hard to buy for FIL

Does anyone know of any Barbour discounts?

Billyandemily · 18/11/2021 09:46

Thankyou for whoever posted about the pick n mix on etsy sweetmouthfulmixes. I ordered a bag then went back for another after receiving an email with the offer for 25% off using code comeback

Not sure what you are looking for but there is some sellers included in the eBay 20% off discount that sell Barbour products. With code BLACKFRIDAYUK
Straysocks · 18/11/2021 09:51

@Fuckingfuckssake @Fuckingfuckssake @MeredithGreyishblue Thanks all for thoughts. Logically the Switch is the right purchase as it can include all of us and we do travel a lot but I'm not keen on making gaming more accessible - we do a lot of non-tech activities and I think they'd be dropped. I prefer the idea of a fabulous hour now & then but the guidance on young eyesight wins I guess. Really helpful, much appreciated.

Minionbums · 18/11/2021 09:57

Tesco has club card price on games for PS4 PS5 and switch just got a copy of Spider-Man Miles Morales for the PS5 for £15, it’s £41 on Amazon! I got the last copy in my store, stocks might not last long at those prices.

Straysocks · 18/11/2021 10:03

Sorry, too many fucks given in previous post! Should be @Newdad19

woodwaj · 18/11/2021 10:06

@billyandemily that was me I got the code too which I used the replace the bag I ate Blush

@whoknows1230 thanks for the squishmallows update!

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 18/11/2021 10:06

I'm unsure if anyone has suggested it before, but Home Bargains has squishmallows in stock yesterday. Not Christmas ones like Aldi, but nice all the same. They're pretty much the same size as the cinnamon bun Aldi ones and the same price. I grabbed a panda one for dd just in case I can't get hold of one of the festive ones.

andadietcoke · 18/11/2021 10:10

Has anyone seen a Cath Kidston code please? I've just clocked the Harry Potter range and (of course) none of it is in the BF sale...

Tightsonmyboat · 18/11/2021 10:12

Thanks @catsarebetterthandogs9 ordered for my two oldest. And then the m&s jarmas for a nice festive surprise in the middle of December I think.

In my haste I managed for order the bedding for click and collect from a shop I can't get to Blush have had to reorder and get it delivered. Thinking the click and collect one will just refund when I don't pick it up?

PoirotAndHisMoustache · 18/11/2021 10:17

@Twonka brilliant! Did you get the cotton one or the fleece one? They had slippers on similar offer the other day and they are arriving today so we will see

SquidGame999 · 18/11/2021 10:18

@Straysocks we have the Switch for my kid (8yo) and I have the Oculus Quest 2 for myself. For a child I'd recommend the Switch, so many child friendly games. I love tech so spend a lot of time on my Oculus and my 8yo gets a shot when he wants. There are plenty games to buy that are a lot of fun for the whole family. But Switch for a kid in my opinion.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 18/11/2021 10:18

I have two presents left to get and I'm stuck

One is my granny
She lives in a care home. Doesn't want stuff. Can't get anywhere for experiences. No room for photos, mine are 2 of 20+ great grandchildren. Doesn't drink. No appetite and lots of allergies. Last year I got her a scarf from the highland company to keep her warm

Other is a girl in her twenties
I haven't seen her in a while but need to get her a gift for political reasons. Don't want it to cost much but needs to look reasonable. She's into horses, has a horse. Is well off

Any ideas gratefully received

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 18/11/2021 10:22

I'm probably going to sound really stupid but here goes!
Dd has asked for an Apple pencil for Christmas, I imagine that this is to make notes on her ipad but also her phone? Her ipad was new 3 years ago and she's got an iPhone 12. Would anyone know if I get a 2nd generation pencil whether it would work on both please or whether there's a 3rd generation one out? I'm reasonably tech savvy but this generation thing really confuses me!

I've just paid £41 for that game! Our Tesco doesn't stock games either 😭

Just check if they are Squishmallows or the Squishaboo by Beanie boo. I prefer the squishaboo but my DD would not be impressed at all as it's the Squishmallows that they all want.
cymrumam · 18/11/2021 10:28

F Hinds has buy one get one half price across everything. Offer runs for the next week as their Black Friday deal

lobster12 · 18/11/2021 10:28

@Newdad19 thank you!! Will have a look on there.

I'm looking for the beadnell jacket.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 18/11/2021 10:29

@takemetoyourliar what about something like this for your 20 something one? They come beautifully packaged with handwritten gift tags and look much more expensive than they are.
