Poor old Gary - he’s gone from money off his concerts to being drowned in hot chocolate 🤣. Thanks for the title @iklboo Grin

Any recommendations on a nice hand cream, not too pricy but has to be suitable for sensitive skin? it’s for my 95 year old grandmother.

Also looking for some nice shower gels or/and body sprays for a teenage girl?

Essexmate · 17/11/2021 12:03

Good afternoon bargain hunters. I have a conundrum. Need a gift for someone who loves food but is also now trying to lose weight/be a bit healthier. I want something nice but that won’t appear rude iyswim

Aa101 · 17/11/2021 12:09

Thanks for posting

Tiredmumno1 · 17/11/2021 12:10

@MulticolourTriangles I've tried having a look but can only find some on eBay, there isn't too many by the look of it, and most are expensive as they are personalised.

Hopefully someone somewhere has spotted it on the high street.

TuftyMarmoset · 17/11/2021 12:15

WH Smith have got some early Black Friday deals on, I haven’t price checked or looked through it all but can see eg 50% off Staedtler colouring pencils set, 1/3 off Switch accessories set on the first page.

YouAreEnough · 17/11/2021 12:19

Benefit Cosmetics have 50% off full sized blusher. This also stacks with a 20% off Black Friday code and two free samples offer.

RainbowPhilosophy · 17/11/2021 12:25

@Reastie nomination for the next thread title: The one where we gobbled it

@CeeceeBloomingdale 😁

UnaOfStormhold · 17/11/2021 12:27

Is anyone else imagining a row of owls being urged to get on with producing more pellets - don't you know we have a waiting list!

The reference to decathlon reminds me to suggest checking whether your employer does any discount/loyalty schemes -they're generally small but stack with other offers. I was a bit frustrated to realise that I could have got an extra 5% off at Boots through my employer which would have been handy when I bought a new electric toothbrush recently, so am keeping an eye out for others.

Build a Bear have their sale on and at the moment they have all their Pokemon bundles reduced, as well as Delivery2 giving you reduced delivery and I was given the option to buy a gift card for £5 instead of £10 for every £25 I spent. I had a few to get for my kids so ordered 2 pokemon together, got 3 gift cards, then used the 3 gift cards to buy the other one I needed, and saved more money that way.

DinosaurOfFire · 17/11/2021 12:31

Oh also, has anyone seen a white cat onesie for age 7-8? One that could be used for a costume as well as pyjamas, so with a hood with ears, and preferably a long tail. Not that my daughter is asking for much! Thanks.

IDontDrinkTea · 17/11/2021 12:39

Thanks for the eBay Lego code. Have just bought this for DH - 830 pieces should keep him busy a while and not bad for £32

I have just heard that DP’s relatives will be visiting from abroad - any suggestions for an almost 4yo girl? I’m not sure what she is into and can’t be too bulky as will need to fit into their suitcases to take back. Probably not looking to spend more than £20-30.

Puffalicious · 17/11/2021 12:43
@Puffalicious there is a few different pairs of light up sketchers on m and m direct. Im not sure if they are the right size though.
Brilliant! I'll look right now.

Duvetflower · 17/11/2021 12:48

@Essexmate what kind of budget? The Spicery maybe? Something for bread making maybe sourdough?

SpamIAm · 17/11/2021 12:53

@TuftyMarmoset my 4 year old loves crafts, sticker books and barbie type dolls.

Tea Coffee Olive oil Balsamic vinegar Honey

All of the above quite generic but nice versions are, well, nice. If the person has a love of a particular cuisine then something to go with that - a selection of unusual dried chillies, or some aged soy sauce.

Or something unusual like freeze dried berry powder, candied yuzu peel.

Or a gadget or utensil or serving dish?

SpamIAm · 17/11/2021 12:55

@Essexmate do you know if there's a particular cuisine they really like? Could get some unusual ingredients, serving dishes or cooking equipment related to that.

@iknowitsheresomewhere I successfully ordered owl pellets on November 7th but I had an email today saying they wouldn’t be able to fulfill my order until mid December at the earliest, and would I like to wait or have a refund.
I’m a little bit frustrated if they have added me to the waiting list rather than processing the order before the waiting list was in effect, but it’s not a problem so long as they arrive for Christmas (fingers crossed!).
Has anyone else who ordered and paid also been told there’s a wait?

evtheria · 17/11/2021 13:03

@TuftyMarmoset One of those books of sticker scenes, I bought my nephew one at same age and his mum said it kept him occupied for ages on the plane. You could add some very British children’s chocolate/sweets, M&S do nice little sets.

This Peter Rabbit book looks lovely:

And here are loads of others:

Runforwine · 17/11/2021 13:04

@Essexmate Amazon have a pinch of nom food planner, it's only £6. So maybe a you could make up a food hamper to go with it, made up with ingredients from the recipes in the book.

Didyeaye · 17/11/2021 13:11

@Newdad19 that’s a brill price for the barbie food truck.

Seriously consider a sainsburys tour of the west of Scotland to try and track one down. But I also have a toddler and baby in tow soooooo maybe not 🤣

If anyone happens to be Glasgow/West of Scotland and sees it in sains for £18 can you shout me please? Thanks!

TuftyMarmoset · 17/11/2021 13:12

Thanks @SpamIAm and @evtheria, sticker books are a really good idea and something I would never have thought of! They have a long (transatlantic) flight home so I’m sure anything to keep her occupied will go down very well.

Essexmate · 17/11/2021 13:12

Thanks for the suggestions. A diy food hamper sounds like a nice idea. She literally loves everything not one cuisine over the other so I might get a few different bits and bobs. Hopefully the overall effect will be good!

Newforestdonkey · 17/11/2021 13:14

ineedacupoftea I got the same email. It sounded strange for the same reason you mention. I would have expected to get it well before those on the waiting list. I don’t mind though, I was still unsure that my children would appreciate the idea so I asked for a refund.
