No idea what to get dd 8

Dd has written her list but it is all stuff she has seen on YouTube and either wildly expensive as shipping from the US or out of stock. Most of it is also some form of cuddly toy. She literally has hundreds, a lot are bagged up and in the loft.

As a result I have absolutely zero ideas of what to buy her for Christmas. Have queried with her dad if she has mentioned anything when with him but she hasn't.

So far she has
Tickets to Harry Potter studio
Board game
Harry potter hoodie
LOL doll thing

I know the studio tickets are expensive but they don't really amount to anything when wrapped.

Dp (we don't live together) has bought her a kids alexa that is a tiger and is planning to give her some money for going to Harry potter.

She is massively into art but we bought her tons of art stuff for her birthday in the summer. She plays a sport but has recently had all new kit as she needed it and had out grown everything.

What the hell do I buy her??!!

Not sure if someone has said already but what about a Yoto player? They have more grown up books on there now as well as kids podcast, kids radio, lovely music and meditation cards too

Dd doesn't like popcorn and she can't have candyfloss -which is a fucker cos I love both-

She has a camera but u have been looking at the little printers you cam buy. They seem to run on the same paper as the instax that someone suggested above but mean she could pick her best ones instead to print instead of the risk of wasting them

Yeah I think instax would be better for teens due to the cost and waste reason.

Photo printer sounds good, and maybe an album or frames to do a gallery.

I had a look at them in w h Smith last week, not a fan to be honest. I think u would rather she read a proper book! She has my old kindle that she never uses so I suspect ur would go the same way

Or one of those wires with clips people use to display pictures

As she likes cuddly toys she might like some of the giant cuddle cushions. I made DD8 a reading nook when w did her room with a canopy, cuddle cushions and snuggly blankets. With fairy light on it!
DD is very active and wants lots of gymnastics stuff but she does love her snuggly reading space
I also got her some grown up art stuff for her birthday and she has really enjoyed that. And stopped stealing my good brushes!

@Terminallysleepdeprived ah that's such a shame, they are amazing. Mine don't tend to use it in replacement of books but definitely do in replacement of television.

They'll often pop on a childrens podcast or kids radio while they are colouring in/drawing. Or just have it on in the background while playing.

Might be a bit young for her OP but what about kinetic sand? My 6 year old niece loves it. You can build and rebuild, I actually had a go with her and it is good fun 😊

Terminallysleepdeprived · 17/11/2021 21:12

Thanks for the instax tip, having chatted to her we decided that it wasn't the right thing for her but having done mountain searching I have ordered her a HP Sprocket zink printer...I may have more fun than her 🤣

Have also picked up a book she wanted and she picked a few bits she liked on smyths so have sent links to other people.

Huge help ladies so thank you all

Both my girls are into similar things to your DD. They're big gift is a trampoline but both are getting a giant squishmallow each, led room lights, oodies from Amazon and converse.

Bear2014 · 18/11/2021 10:39

We're getting our DD a tie dye kit and a bundle of pain white items to do, sweatshirts, long and short t-shirts, a t-shirt dress.

Have you heard of LOLA art boxes? You can buy them individually to wrap as a gift or buy her a subscription. It's a box of themed art projects with instructions and materials.

An atlas/globe

Board games such as Jumanji, Cluedo, Labyrinth

This is a good site for ideas:

You can put the child’s age in and it filters appropriate present ideas
