Shamelessly looking for ideas for myself. DH forgot my birthday this year (we had a lot going on) so is wanting ideas of "something decent" to get me this year to make up for it.

I am unreasonably hard to buy for. I'm low maintenance, don't have any particular hobbies, buy myself things when I need them etc. I usually give him a list of stuff like new slippers, face cream, bottle of booze type of thing.

I don't really need or want anything in particular and would be perfectly happy with my usual stuff but he unreasonably wants to get something more substantial.

Sooo what is on your wish list that I might want to ask for?

I really hope you folks get the things on your lists :)

I don't even drink tea or coffee so a mug is useless.

I'd personally love a decent pair of running leggings that don't keep rolling down, some nice frames for my piles of photos, a big dressing gown with a big hood, some more slippers, a new pair of ankle boots, a nice sewing box for my bits and bobs, and some really good vegan chocolates. That'd all be lovely.

Every year I request cashmere gloves and the following winter, I manage to lose one before Christmas so they go back on my Christmas wish list - it’s a bit embarrassing really.
This years list will include a shopping trolley so I can walk to the local shops instead of taking the car for such short journeys.

zinky · 07/11/2021 21:10

Warmest coat ever and concert tickets

dementedma · 07/11/2021 21:11

No idea other than a bottle of my favourite perfume which is nearly finished.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 07/11/2021 21:14

Air pods
Silk pillowcase
Fluffy slippers
Christmas socks
"Fresh" face masks
Silk scrunchies
Fortnum chocs

didireallysaythat · 07/11/2021 21:14

OP I'm quite impressed with your DH's forward thinking. I'll get asked a few days before Xmas when it's too late anyway...

DeathMetalMum · 07/11/2021 21:17

A good portable Bluetooth speaker, but not an Alexa. And a smart/fitness watch.

cookiemonster5 · 07/11/2021 21:19

I'm getting a massage gun. Not very special but I have a lot of muscle problems and pain so it will help. My private physio used it at my last session and it was amazing! It's in my Amazon basket (I'm a student so it's my prime for the discount) that wax I get the one I want.

Other than that I will be happy with a new mug, maybe slippers, something to store my crochet stuff in and some chocolates.

BubblinTrouble · 07/11/2021 21:20

Oodie
Books / kindle books
Velvetiser
Voucher to get my nails done
Fancy chocolates
Weekend away
Mulberry handbag

Keladrythesaviour · 07/11/2021 21:22

I'd definitely go for a weekend away if you're.not a things person! Or if you do want a thing to open, how about a nice piece.of luggage? For my DHs birthday we had a lovely weekend away and I got him a lovely leather holdall to take with us and he really treasures it.

Of you're into your car, how about a car hire experience? I don't necessarily mean rally driving etc (though great if that's your thing) but we hired a jaguar e type for a weekend and took drove it to a posh hotel where we stayed. It felt really opulent and my DH who is a real car nut loved it. He hates the organised track days as you only get about 15minutes driving time. We had they e type under his sole control for 48 hours and it was fab.

BorderlineHappy · 07/11/2021 21:22

I would like a serious of amount of money on a tattoo voucher.
It's an expensive hobby.

How bout a holiday voucher.
Or a nice handbag and purse.

I usually start getting asked for a list at the beginning of December but he is feeling extra guilty because of the birthday thing. He has a big birthday in a couple of weeks and has already had a new car Shock, a new phone and some bits and pieces for the car. I guess he is feeling even more guilty now Grin. We've been married for 25 years and together for a couple before that but he still struggles to get his head around the fact that I genuinely don't bother about gifts or whatever. He doesn't either to be fair but will justify buying something he wants by saying it can be for his birthday or Christmas. I never justify anything I buy. If I see something i'd like and we can afford it then I get it.

Polene numero uno handbag
Jo malone bath oil
An oodie blanket (apparently it’s bigger than a king size duvet but it’s constantly sold out!)
Some new large wine glasses (mine seem to all have mysteriously disappeared)
Books
If you’re interested in jewellery how about something bespoke? Check out Molly Ginnerlly Jewellery. She’s lovely & really reasonably priced.

Oh i don't like driving, I just get an element of control in my life with a pristine car, my friends take the piss a bit as I've done 8000 miles in 4 years (and DS did a decent proportion of that) but you could eat your dinner of the carpets - and my boot is empty. We need two cars as (when I'm in work) we need to be in different places at the same time and there is no public transport. Although i'm not that far from work, it isn't suitable to walk or cycle to (need to access a motorway or a big diversion).

Last year my DH bought me a Dyson hairdryer and GHDs, both presents were a surprise and fabulous.

Some new mahabi slippers, a bottle of malfy blood orange gin and some cherry liquor marzipan chocs.

ChocolateHelps · 07/11/2021 21:35

Maybe the love languages book...so if gifts are not your thing, then work out how you like to receive love

"They are acts of service, gift-giving, physical touch, quality time, and words of affirmation."

OhChristmasTree2021 · 07/11/2021 21:38

I would like a dressing gown with a hood.

daisyjgrey · 07/11/2021 21:41

I've asked for a dress from House of Flint, perfume, vouchers for the reformer Pilates class I go to, a new work bag (specifically the bag bundle on Mia Tui that comes with a small shoulder bag as well as the work one), and a gold version of my engagement ring so I can swap between gold and silver jewellery - I've got a ring that he proposed with but I can't wear it everyday as it's too big and delicate and made with sea glass we found years ago so I've got a silver 'stunt' ring for day to day, nothing spendy though, I'm not mental!

elizabethdraper · 07/11/2021 21:42

What about a pair of aftershock headphones. I wouldn't be without them

Peachy lean or sweaty Betty leggings

Real silk pjs, a real silk pillow case, really silk head scarf

Afternoon tea
Voucher for my hair dresser
Weekend away in a spa
A hot tub
Soaking tub

ElephantOfRisk · 07/11/2021 21:43

I'm think I have a few ideas now, I'll give him a list and let him choose from it.

Weekend away
Weekend bag
Car hoover
Nicer than normal slippers
New perfume
A box of Lindor Smile

ElephantOfRisk · 07/11/2021 21:49

I don't do spas or massage type things or beauty treatments. I get my hair cut 2 or 3 times a year - I like my sloggi pants for comfort Grin

Don't wear leggings or tights or PJs and I really don't think I need clothes of any description. I only use headphones for work. We have some decent portable speakers. He has bought me a couple of bags over the years but don't really carry one very often.

I told you I was hard to buy for!
