If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

@vivicrocodile

I'm on the lookout for an actifry. Any ideas where to get it for the best bargain?

Thanks :)

I know Hype has been mentioned, but I think its worth adding that they have 'lucky dip' bags. 10 random items. Usually £240, down to £120 on the website and then £60 with HYPE50. you just choose gender and age :)

Has anyone ever had a Hype lucky bag? Do other shops do these.

As a single Mum it would be nice to try something like this for myself at Xmas but not sure if it's a mad idea?

Also I have never used Hype before and everytime the HYPE50 code comes up on this thread I take a look but the website seems too chaotic for me, do you need to know exactly what you are looking for, it doesn't seem much like a browsing website.

@dizzygirl1

Any ideas for a dressing gown for DS12? He's in the middle stage, not quite boy but not quite teen.... ideally would like a soft dressing gown which will last him a couple of years.
I've bought great dressing gowns from both Sainsbury's and Tesco's - lovely and soft. Worth a look there too!
Autumnleaves4 · 31/10/2021 21:43

@WisestIsShe thank you, it's given me 10% off, I think reduced items don't qualify which is a shame but thank you very much there is a lot of choice on their web site.

MerylSqueak · 31/10/2021 21:59

Yes @Autumnleaves4. It is a difficult website. You can only browse for say one size or one type of product at a time. Annoying. Never had a lucky dip, but people on here always seem to be extremely pleased or extremely displeased be cause stuff is too similar for example.

Thank you @Rockhopper81. I think I will go for a waterproof bag, as Iggy says and maybe a harddrive if there's a good bargain on black Friday.

Anita87 · 31/10/2021 22:00

@Autumnleaves4 I just had a code on Facebook for Woolover: FB20

maybe that one will for you...

FancyNan · 31/10/2021 22:10

@dizzygirl1 I've always bought dressing gowns for my family from Debenhams & Landsend Always soft and good quality and Debenhams is now found online.

FancyNan · 31/10/2021 22:12

Landsend has 40% off all Full Price styles

Does anyone have any recommendations for a calligraphy pen and book for a beginner? Happy to pay a bit more for something decent.

I have this one, but I’ve been practicing on paper using A set of watercolour Pens from Lidl - they are brush tip pens rather than felt tip. I never feel comfortable writing in books.

thaegumathteth · 31/10/2021 22:25

@Autumnleaves4 this might be a bit random but if you were wanting a sort of surprise gift to yourself mama tiger lily on FB does them - so you tell her your likes and budget and she sorts it

I've never had a surprise one but have a gorgeous ring and numerous other items for me and dd and love them all.

thaegumathteth · 31/10/2021 22:25

Sorry @Autumnleaves4 should've said she does jewellery

MerryPumpkinmas · 31/10/2021 22:28

Couple of codes in the paper today -

Celtic & Co 15% off & free delivery with code AW21TE

Tweezerman (not heard of them before but seems to be all different types of beauty tools, not just tweezers) 20% off with code TIMES20

Squishmallows: looking for a cupcake and/or latte if anyone sees any or has a spare, I’d be very happy if you’d be willing to post to me. I’m unlikely to make it to an Aldi this week. Thank you

Karlkennedyslovechild · 31/10/2021 23:07

Does anyone know what the difference between a squishmallow and a squish-a-boo is??

thaegumathteth · 31/10/2021 23:17

I asked dd this as I can't see any difference other than the latter is cheaper.

According to dd 'the squish a boos are just not cool and weird'

So that's the logic of an 11 year old....sure that'll be helpful to you!

RAFHercules · 31/10/2021 23:19

Bodum has some amazing reductions on insulated coffee cups and French press coffee makers.

Karlkennedyslovechild · 31/10/2021 23:22

Ha ha thanks! Mine saw some squish-a-boos in The Entertainer yesterday and loved them. An owl squishmallow was on DD’s list already but struggling to find it in stock. I’ll take the less cool bargain option then!

Autumnleaves4 · 31/10/2021 23:30

@Anita87 Thank you vey much, unfortunately the item I had in my basket has just gone out of stock. I tried your code on another sale item and unfortunately it didn't work so I'm guessing they will only reduce full price items.

If anyone else has any ides for reasonably priced mens jumpers I would appreciate it.

Autumnleaves4 · 31/10/2021 23:32

@MerylSqueak and @thaegumathteth thank you for your tips and ideas its really appreciated. Loving this thread.

DockOTheBay · 01/11/2021 00:00

@Getoutofbed25 they're available online from Claire accessories. More expensive but probably not by a lot once you factor in postage - they do free click and collect or free postage over £30 which wouldn't be far off of you bought two

Getoutofbed25 · 01/11/2021 00:08

Thanks @DockOTheBay, the Aldi one just looks nicer, but I know that Claire’s have them, the also have a latte in store but it’s much smaller than the Aldi one. Claire’s had a lot in stock today but none that my daughter has asked for…..every year I end up trying to find something impossible, I remember the year of the Lol dolls, which this thread years back helped me source! I got my hands on the big golden ball!

As far as I can see same concept just different brands. Similar i guess to barbie vs sindy when I was younger! Dd loves the look of both so will have a couple of each for birthday/Christmas.
Puffalicious · 01/11/2021 00:56

Looking for some good ideas for Marvel products for DS2 (15). Nothing too pricey as his main present this year is a new, top of the range phone Confused

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 01/11/2021 03:56

Get well soon @Reastie

I'm tempted by Hype lucky dip. Has anyone done it before? What did you get?

Helssjbells · 01/11/2021 04:35

Feeling very stressed here with a newborn and a kitchen being ripped out (we currently have no sink or dishwasher Confused)

I’ve just tried the Hype50 code and it’s not working for me - does anyone know if it’s expired or if there’s another one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated x
