@Reastie I've started the new thread can you add your standard wonderful information?

@Someaddedsugar I would absolutely recommend Five Minute Mum Give Me Five book. It’s really quick games to set up and play with the children with the hopes that you might get a hot cup of tea! I’ve linked to the search on WH Smith where she also does a book called Ready for School and the signed copy is less than the normal copy. I don’t have that one so can’t recommend (but I’m just about to order it with the codes!)

Midnightshopping · 24/10/2021 23:22

@CelticPromise thanks just spend more money on lego Blush

Midnightshopping · 24/10/2021 23:26

I'd also be careful with Boots, just had an email that they dont have one of my items and I'll be refunded (just some bath fizzers but they were for my xmas eve box) even so they still have them to order on the website. so you will loose out on any money off codes used as it splits them on each item.

thaegumathteth · 24/10/2021 23:49

@Crapbags it's probably my tired eyes missing it but what was the s'mores offer please?

Arthien · 25/10/2021 01:06

Has anyone had a dispatch email from WHSmith that didn't include all their order? I know some people had issues with the Top Gear book but did that say it was unavailable or did it just disappear from the order update emails? I ordered two of the ST&G great British maps - one with tv and film locations and another with music locations. The music one was down to £2.99 so cheap as chips with the codes, but I've had a dispatch email which only shows the full price one. I've been charged the discounted total for both as per my original order confirmation though, which implies I should receive both... Confused

Arthien · 25/10/2021 01:12

Sorry I can't remember who was after a dry bag, but depending on what size you want, there's one on WHSmith which may work with the codes and one on Mountain Warehouse - and they normally have codes fairly frequently.

I ordered a few children’s books in mine. The order showed up split up into different shipments, which is fine, but I’m missing some books from it. I’m assuming that they maybe don’t have the stock ready to go yet (maybe have to send it from stock in stores?) and it will just take a week or two until they dispatch?

Hopefully, anyway. I’ll have to look and see what’s already arrived tomorrow and check it off against the order and what’s on its way. Hopefully it all arrives soon- I don’t mind waiting because it’s for Christmas so I’m not in a rush but it would have been good to just send out an email saying there might be delays with some items and not to worry.

PizzaCrust · 25/10/2021 01:28

Anyone wanting to buy Lego, I would really recommend looking at Zavvi’s offerings. For Duplo, it was by far the best selection with discounts available. Unfortunately I couldn’t get any discount codes to work alongside it (and trust me, I tried plenty 😂) but still got a good deal I think- saved £27. Much better selection that Argos had and cheaper than Amazon/Smyths for what I ordered. Had to pay for delivery but it was only £1.99 which isn’t too bad.

Boots are awful for this. I’ve ordered from them twice online and it’s happened both times. Ordered some new baby bits for DD1 a couple of years ago, half of the order never showed up when I went to collect it so it was refunded. Happened again when I went to buy some maternity bits for my hospital bag for having DD2- this time I picked delivery instead of collection, having been burned once, and I still didn’t get my full order.

I wouldn’t order online from them ever again, now. It seems to be a lucky dip of whether they have something in stock or not.

Arthien · 25/10/2021 01:42

Thanks, it would be useful to know whether the "missing" items are ones which are already discounted, or if it's completely random. The map I ordered was just a cheap extra so I probably won't bother ordering another one if it doesn't come, but I'll definitely be demanding a refund, given how quick they were to charge me for the whole order despite it not being ready to dispatch!

Arthien · 25/10/2021 01:43

Sorry that last message was to @PizzaCrust, the quote randomly disappeared!

1stTimeMama · 25/10/2021 01:46

@Ruralretreating the bedding was for me, thank you! Love the Bloomsbury set, so will be getting that for her.

5Minions2CallMyOwn · 25/10/2021 02:01

Lego Hedwig is £23.05 on Amazon when you apply the voucher! It’s £35 at Argos

@Arthien I ordered 8 children's books and they've been dispatched in 3 separate packages. I'm just waiting on the last one now.

sittingonacornflake · 25/10/2021 07:12

@Fetchthevet you'll have to report back with your thoughts once you've tried them!

Littlemissindecisiveagain · 25/10/2021 07:19

@Someaddedsugar I wonder if you brought her a ticket to something she likes (e.g cinema voucher) and gave the babysitting voucher so that she could go to it, it may feel more for a specific use so less like she is putting you out?

Newnormal99 · 25/10/2021 07:29

Apologies if this has been posted before but M&S have a Christmas bath bomb set down to £20. To be fair I think the original £40 was overpriced but I think £20 is reasonable especially if like me you were looking to make your own advent calendar for a pre teen with bath stuff in!

It says it comes with 2 bubble bars and 8 bath bombs but there actually looks to be 12 items in it

Someaddedsugar · 25/10/2021 07:40

Thanks @HoHoJ0 and @Littlemissindecisiveagain - two more fab ideas! I'm going to have a search this evening so will include those in it. I like the idea of her having something to do that will then mean babysitting kicks in.

Wait4nothing · 25/10/2021 07:48

I’ve finally succumbed to the WHSmith deal - went for a pop up book from my list, some cute pins for stocking and 2 presents for upcoming kids’ parties. £20 delivered.

Arthien · 25/10/2021 07:48

@Changingagain that's good to know - it suggests there is a chance I might get the bargain map as well then. It must be costing WHS a fortune giving it was free postage too!

Elphaba17 · 25/10/2021 08:19

There was a long dispatch time on 3 out of the 6 books I ordered at whsmith (up to 14 days I think) so I don't expect my orders to all come together. Might be worth checking to see if that applies to anyone's order too.

coolpattern · 25/10/2021 08:20

@1stTimeMama

WH Smith stock Sass & Belle items, and they're currently on BOGO 1\2 price, and this also then stacks with the discount codes for some uber bargains!
Thank you for this. I’ve been eying up those Frieda planters for ages.

I'm missing The Christmas Pine from mine but the top of my dispatch email does say "If you are still waiting for more items to be dispatched, then we are most likely waiting for stock to arrive and these will be with you shortly."
LittleSquirrels · 25/10/2021 08:26

To anyone that was interested in the Daisy Maison Pebble Pictures

Ive had a reply apologising saying their website went down, and that code FLASH20 is no longer working but you can use the new code TAKE20 instead
