FiloFaxx · 16/10/2021 09:28

Just a note about the Museum Selection website customer service being good. I ordered two of the same item by mistake and they've amended it really quickly. My mistake by Christmas shopping early in the morning hehe 😂🙈

@Alwaysroomforcake

Thanks to all those who replied about Shein Smile Has anyone used Aliexpress at all? Assume it will be similar with no customs charges etc? They seem to have more toys etc on there..
I've used Shein and Aliexpress for buying loads of stationary bits for crafting. Never had a problem but do take a bit longer for Aliexpress as coming from China I think but there is loads of different stores so if you order from more than one your parcels will just come as and when each store sends them where as Shein all comes in one Smile
IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 16/10/2021 09:35

@psuedocream3 it was me who wanted the Moonpig code! Thank you so much! Xx

Tinysnickers · 16/10/2021 09:37

Are the shein delivery dates reliable? I am looking at some Halloween decor bits which are estimated delivery between 25th-29th.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2021 09:38

Another well-priced Minecraft Lego set: The Ruined Portal is £20.00 on Amazon.

@Beakerandbungle

Morning everyone! I also love these threads - have genuinely cheered me up through some quite difficult times over the last few years Smile, along with helpful with bargains.

Quick question - I’m considering getting the cuddle cushions from dunelm for my DS who are 7 and 9 ( 9 year old is very slight!). Can’t decide whether the kids ones will be too small but the adult ones look huge! Does anyone have one and can give me a clue as to which to go for?

Adult sized ones are large. Both dd 16 and 13 had them last Christmas. They loose they’re shape a bit. Spread out and become the width of the bed size wise.

Go for the kids ones. Both my ds 10 & 8 had the dinosaur/monster one. Perfect size. Love this years ones. Look so cosy. Order soon if I were you. They all sold out last year.

I don’t know sorry. But my daughter wanted clothes form shein for Halloween. We ordered off eBay in the end. They are meant to arrive by 21st Oct instead. I like those odds more
MerylSqueak · 16/10/2021 09:57

@Puffalicious I'm willing to pay more or full price on the high street because I enjoy the experience of going to the shops and would hate for them not to be there.

New Look have 25% off almost everything and 99p delivery. No code needed.

Daisy829 · 16/10/2021 10:01

Morning. Sorry I didn’t come back on last night. No primark oddie type items in trinity Leeds that I saw.

Autumnleaves4 · 16/10/2021 10:03

25% off cox & cox at Joules today ends midnight.
Also 10% off with first order if you sign up, not sure if codes stack.

TheCrow · 16/10/2021 10:15

@NoWordForFluffy about the lotto tickets, on their FAQ it says you can use your voucher against a family ticket so I'm guessing the 18 or over bit is just referring to buying the lottery ticket and claiming the voucher but you can get tickets for under 18s using the voucher

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2021 10:20

The wording says that under-18s can't participate in the promotion. And family tickets being allowed doesn't mean child tickets are (the question specifically queries it because there is a child in the group).

I do think it's the adult who bought the ticket who's entitled to a £25 voucher and not a child.

Does anyone have any money off argos codes? So sorry to be a pain. £119 spend - would love to take the edge off it!
A25W11B793RQ Argos code. This is £12 off £100 spend. Hope this helps x

@badmarciathemarsha has your fil got one of these? Z-Saw H-150 Dozuki Ultra-fine Crosscut Saw https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AS9H7IQ/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcAR4Z8BVMW3M2TBVFNBGE??encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I started a woodwork course a few weeks ago and the instructor had one of these for us to use and they were incredible - like cutting through butter (well not really but it was very easy!) he said it was really important to have the ones with the stabiliser but along the top of the blade like this one does so it cuts straight. Not a bargain but might be something he doesn't already have.

dramalamma · 16/10/2021 10:42

@badmarciathemarsha and for your mil, if she hasn't got them already these went down a treat with my quilting mum - https://craftingoutlet.co.uk/products/floral-pattern-weights-6-pack?gclid=CjwKCAjw8KmLBhB8EiwAQbqNoG4Uqq4AzGUTmNW-kXdpksedRK54rj-pqT-0m-gBTDaat0WWI8L9ZhoCJkQAvDD_BwE

KinderWild · 16/10/2021 10:43

Decided we are going to move to rechargable batteries (having looked at how many of the kids toys need batteries).

This 8 AA/AAA battery usb charger

Who-ever was asking about 3D printers (think it was a few threads back) I took the plunge and ordered one last night Shock
Gonna spend the next few weeks setting it up and playing with it before I gift it on.

Whydidimarryhim · 16/10/2021 10:56

Re lottery tickets and visit London - I think you need to book the event you want to go to straight away. It doesn’t appear flexible?

user1466167893 · 16/10/2021 11:02

The high street versus online is a really good question? I have very limited time (working two jobs at mo to pay the bills). Last week, I found myself hanging at a retail park whilst waiting for my DD. I went in armed with this thread to pick up things for Xmas. Either not stocked in that branch, not in or not available in sizes I needed. I just don't have time for repeat visits. So all of that is online. HOWEVER, I do support my local village shops, do spend in little local gift shops and am supporting the butcher, the grocer and the bakery. If bigger shops want to stay in the high street they have to sort out their stock and availability.

RevolvingPivot · 16/10/2021 11:16

I totally agree. Retail doesn't seem to me to be helping high street stores at all.

I also think it's wrong that high street stores have to accept online returns but are then clearly obliged to sell the stock. And they have to resource all the click and collect.

There may be something I am missing but it seems to me they always get the rough end of the deal.

badmarciathemarsha · 16/10/2021 11:33

@dramalamma these ideas are brilliant thank you so much
