If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Does this link work for the Asda wooden toys for you?

Asda Wooden Toys[/quote]
Thanks for the link, it went to load the page but then changed to "oops something went wrong" so I'm pretty sure it's coz I'm not in the UK. Oh well, saves me some money! 😂

dcadmam · 16/10/2021 07:28

And eyeshadow trios also on 3 for 2 offer do 3 sets for just over £5

sorryiasked · 16/10/2021 07:33

Thank you to whoever mentioned the free postage on character.com (several pages back!). Discount code is SHIP4FREE valid this weekend only.
I wanted a sale item reduced from £11 to £6 and wouldn't have paid £4.95 postage!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2021 07:35

@CeeceeBloomingdale

The lottery deal did say one offer voucher per person (which I took to mean adult as only they are eligible to buy lottery tickets) so not sure using many different email addresses for individual tickets for the full family to attend on the same day will be accepted. I will probably use mine on 2 adult and 2 child tickets all on the same booking with one voucher if it lets me and pay the top up as I'm looking at a cheaper attraction.
That's what I was thinking of doing.
psuedocream3 · 16/10/2021 07:55

Can't remember who was asking about the free card with moonpig codes - MPAKHFKDJHFIEFNSGQ should work, just pay 85p postage

sorryiasked · 16/10/2021 07:59

If anyone sees Throw Throw Burrito boardgame cheaper than £25 delivered could you please tag me? All the usual places have it and also waterstones, rymans etc but I can't find a discount code that will work.

I did come across this ZBox deal from zavvi while looking though - mystery box, first one for £10 with code ZBOX - good for teens etc contents include funko pop and stuff value £35. It is a subscription and you do need to cancel even the 1 month sub within 14 days.

@Puffalicious

Loving the posts still.

Warning: ordered 2 hooded blankets from the ONS Onlinehomestore. Charged for 2 but only one in the package! I've emailed buy no reply as yet. I am not amused as it's my word against theirs. Not such a bargain if I'm paying double for one!!

Quite sad really about RL shops. I'm in a quandary. Saw a puzzle in Waterstone's and a book in museum shop which I was interested in. Both lovely but a touch pricey. I googled and can purchase one for half price and the other for 25% less online free postage.

I'm caught between thinking of the savings and thinking of supporting RL shops, particularly as both are British and have good reputations as good, ethical employers. It's hard!

Would you have known about those items without visiting the shops? If not, I think you have to consider the value their presence adds and the costs they incur in having physical shops which allow people to browse compared to online stores which have fewer overheads. If you knew about the items anyway maybe it's different.

For me, I like the high street and want it to continue to exist. It makes me sad and angry when people go in our local independent running shop, get fitted and then walk out to buy online because it's cheaper. I also think the rise of amazon and their insane profits is a huge cause for concern; I acknowledge it provides a platform for small businesses too but I'm afraid for me personally that doesn't outweigh the damage it does as a business.

It has become very difficult to know the true worth of anything - it could be that the shops are making massively inflated profits on those items you mentioned or it could be that the other places you've found them are artificially lowering the price via dodgy business practices. Or it could be somewhere in between. My own position would be that if you like the ethics of the businesses and have the money you should buy from where you first saw the items.

psuedocream3 · 16/10/2021 08:12

@sorryiasked That game looks brilliant. I had ordered the giant version for £12.50 from Nexts clearance section but couldn't get to store in time to collect so they refunded and it seems to be OOS now. I will have a look in a bit and see if I can find it cheaper when I'm not under baby and let you know.

SingaporeSlinky · 16/10/2021 08:19

bookish83 thank you, I’ll keep tying TKmaxx for waffle related stuff. I did look in my local last week but couldn’t find anything, but I’ll keep trying if you’ve seen some.

Alwaysroomforcake · 16/10/2021 08:23

Thanks to all those who replied about Shein Smile Has anyone used Aliexpress at all? Assume it will be similar with no customs charges etc? They seem to have more toys etc on there..

Beakerandbungle · 16/10/2021 08:24

Morning everyone! I also love these threads - have genuinely cheered me up through some quite difficult times over the last few years Smile, along with helpful with bargains.

Quick question - I’m considering getting the cuddle cushions from dunelm for my DS who are 7 and 9 ( 9 year old is very slight!). Can’t decide whether the kids ones will be too small but the adult ones look huge! Does anyone have one and can give me a clue as to which to go for?

Onesmallstep67 · 16/10/2021 08:25

@sorryiasked, the exploding kittens website has it for £19 and 10% discount on first order but free delivery is on orders over £22 ! I didn’t get as far as looking what else is on their website or how expensive P&p is. Sorry I don’t know how to link.

sorryiasked · 16/10/2021 08:30

@Onesmallstep67 thank you, yes tried there but the shipping is £££

badmarciathemarsha · 16/10/2021 08:35

Wonder if I could ask for ideas for MIL and FIL
MIL likes lots of crafts and particularly quilting. FIL likes woodworking. But they both have loads related to these already. Don't really go out much (in their 80s) and not adventurous with cooking. Any ideas big or small related to their interests?

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 16/10/2021 08:41

Chase Seville Marmalade gin is currently available on Amazon for £20.14 delivered (just saw it on HUKD)

It's usually £30-35!

Bought a bottle and I haven't even had breakfast yet! Grin

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 16/10/2021 08:49

Thanks for the museum shop tip, I got some great gifts at super cheap prices.

FiloFaxx · 16/10/2021 08:51

Just been on the Museum site and can't believe I'm just about finished my shopping mid October! 🙈

squishmycherry · 16/10/2021 08:55

Does anyone have any money off argos codes? So sorry to be a pain. £119 spend - would love to take the edge off it!

Room4onemore · 16/10/2021 08:57

🎅

Nanananani · 16/10/2021 08:58

I’m also look for an Argos code @squishmycherry thought I had one but it didn’t work

sorryiasked · 16/10/2021 08:58

@badmarciathemarsha how about magazine subscriptions? There are several woodworking and quilting magazines you could choose from.

Room4onemore · 16/10/2021 08:58

I can’t remember but a couple of threads back someone was looking for rainbow high dolls? They have the cheerleader dolls in Asda for £23.98

badmarciathemarsha · 16/10/2021 09:14

@sorryiasked brilliant idea
Off to browse now - thank you!

chillimice · 16/10/2021 09:24

Thanks @SpamIAm I order a lot from Aliexpress and didn't realise the limit has gone up!

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts I've fallen down a Cat vs. Pickles hole.. these are perfect! The cheapest I've found them is here but I don't know if they ever go down in price? (They also had a couple of nice playmobile advent calendars for slightly cheaper than Amazon)

woodwaj · 16/10/2021 09:26
