If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

@happytobemrsg

Can’t believe how much I’ve missed. Thanks to this thread I’ve bought (& already wrapped!) an easel photo calendar, personalised Uno cards, Osmo coding kit & Dino Lego!). Not much more left on my list but always on the look out so will hang around if that’s ok!
Please could you let me know the coding kit bargain? I've searched the thread and can't find it. Thanks.
SpamIAm · 15/10/2021 23:13

@Alwaysroomforcake Customs is only due on deliveries with over £135.

XiCi · 15/10/2021 23:14
**@squishmycherry* and @22Giraffes*, can I ask, do you have to pay any customs charges now with brexit etc when ordering from Shein? I heard you do but not sure if it was right and didn't want an extra bill when the postman arrived!!
I order a lot from Shein (teen dd) and have never paid customs charges. Last delivery a few days ago. They have UK distribution centres now so postage quick and returns easy (used to be from China iirc)

Autumnleaves4 · 15/10/2021 23:21

@Puffalicious thank you for the expired nike update, the items my son wants are full price and not sale items so not so bad to have missed it. Will endeavour not to miss more of any threads they just

Coldilox · 15/10/2021 23:39

Can someone please tell me, the glass pumpkin bowl, is it Home Bargains or B&M Bargains? Going to look for one tomorrow but the stores are in opposite directions so need to know which one to go to!

DinosaurOfFire · 16/10/2021 00:18

@Puffalicious

Loving the posts still.

Warning: ordered 2 hooded blankets from the ONS Onlinehomestore. Charged for 2 but only one in the package! I've emailed buy no reply as yet. I am not amused as it's my word against theirs. Not such a bargain if I'm paying double for one!!

Quite sad really about RL shops. I'm in a quandary. Saw a puzzle in Waterstone's and a book in museum shop which I was interested in. Both lovely but a touch pricey. I googled and can purchase one for half price and the other for 25% less online free postage.

I'm caught between thinking of the savings and thinking of supporting RL shops, particularly as both are British and have good reputations as good, ethical employers. It's hard!

I tend to support the real life shop in this situation, I really value going into a shop and want to support them over saving a few £- I buy a lot from Amazon as it is so try to even it out a bit to support the local high street.
RJnomore1 · 16/10/2021 00:23

@Coldilox I’m 99% certain it’s home bargains

Puffalicious · 16/10/2021 00:27

Dinosaur I definitely don't mind the 25% but half price I do object to. I try not to order from Amazon and use independents with unique pieces quite a bit, however if it's a widely commercially available item I do hate spending more. It's a hard one.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2021 00:32

Anyone needing Minecraft Lego, The Pillager Outpost is only £18 from Amazon.

bizzey · 16/10/2021 00:41

Has anyone tried orthopaedic pillows ?

Silversilverstreet · 16/10/2021 00:53

More Boots No 7 bargains, which might be useful for stocking fillers.

3 different Mystery Box Bundles , each £24.95, said to be worth £117.90 or £139.60 when items sold separately. There are “8 full-size No 7 favourites” in each bundle.

MAQM50 gives 10% off over £50. I think these MAQM(number) codes can each only be used once per person, as others I’ve used before won’t work now.

IHeartKingThistle · 16/10/2021 01:31

@bizzey just for a second I read that as you'd bought 241 bears Grin

bizzey · 16/10/2021 01:47

@IHeartKingThistle
🤣🤣 My bedroom at the moment ..that is what is feels like with all the boxes.

bizzey · 16/10/2021 01:51

Just read my post back .!
Crazy teddy lady me !

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 16/10/2021 01:52

@ottoline sorry a bit late but my dds love their giant teddies! Dd1 has the big sloths from aldi (coming back soon i think!) Around £14.99 and her giant percy pig from m&s. Dd2 has a big llama, she's more a small cuddly fan though! And for washing, launderettes have huge machines, and are quite a novelty to visit! Im considering the cats vs pickles large huggers for Christmas as they love squishy teddies and pillows so these are a perfect mash up! Plus they do a taco cat!

I have also joined the F bag club, my mum was complaining her bag is in need of replacement, so nice new bag bought for her birthday this month!! Thank you!!

I've bought some gifts from here, less so in recent years, now my dds have definite ideas on what they like plus are a bit quirky so the usual gifts aren't really suitable! (My dds are soon to be 13 and 9)

bizzey · 16/10/2021 02:04

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts
A Hamleys bear celebrating her 13 year ..2021 might be nice .

bookish83 · 16/10/2021 03:49

@SingaporeSlinky

Also, I’m buying a waffle maker for Ds, has anyone seen or can recommend either a pack of sauces (like Joe &Seph caramel sauces maybe?) or a ready-made pack of waffle mixture. I’ll make my own mixture once I find a good one, but thinking as a gift, the ready-made stuff will pad out the gift. Thank you!
Tk Maxx have some in. Really nice pckets and flavours. £3.99

Maybe branch dependent but worth a look!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 16/10/2021 06:47

@Coldilox

@Coldilox Definitely Home Bargains, I bought two ages ago but one has a slight crack in the lid so open the box and check it first. They didn't have any more in mine to swap it until yesterday but I'd already started using it so will have to live with it. I use one for sweets and the other has lights in it. They come in a purple square box and are £3.99.
BadgerFace · 16/10/2021 06:53

To add to the National Lottery discussion, I applied as I have an online account so buy tickets each week on a rolling basis. On the Visit Britain website I put in the code from a lottery ticket within the qualifying dates. This generated a voucher code sent to me by e-mail. I then purchased Sea Life tickets for 1 adult and two children through the Visit Britain website. You couldn’t buy directly through the Sea Life website (I tried by accident) so it’s presumably specific to the types of tickets you are allowed to buy on the Visit Britain website.

You have to take the lottery ticket with you when you visit as well as your booking confirmation.

Restlessinthenorth · 16/10/2021 06:54

@Silversilverstreet

I posted before about the Boots No 7 items which were on sale for £5 each. They are now only £4.25.

The assistant I spoke to said they were the same products as the new ones, it was just the packaging which had changed.

I have hopes that the Lash Serum, reduced from £16.50, will make my disappearing eyelashes and brows grow back. The reviews seem reasonable, and £4.25 is much cheaper than similar products I’ve seen elsewhere.

In case anyone is hoping for the bargain Boots Advent Calendar that I was: in the T&Cs on another page it says that they are excluded from the “Spend £60 get £10 worth of points” offer.

Thanks for this. The eyeshadow trips go through at £2.56 or something! This was perfect for me as I'm restocking my mums make up bag for xmas
bookish83 · 16/10/2021 07:11

@0ttoline

Can anyone who has bought giant soft toys in previous years recommend any types that have gone down well with their kids? Or conversely if they have not been loved?
H&M have giant giraffes, elephants, alligators....

We have two of them and they are beautiful. Lovely quality and the giraffe stays upright!

Someaddedsugar · 16/10/2021 07:12

There’s a Star Wars Mandalorian mini fort Lego set currently £7.50 with voucher - might be a good extra present? We don’t have any Star Wars fans in this house but spotted while browsing Amazon!

Famousthehero · 16/10/2021 07:18

Chipping in on the lottery chat, we’ve used 4 lottery tickets to get 4 adult ‘super peak’ passes to Warwick castle (usually £24 each) for £8. Following the chat where the deal was posted, we’re going to put our 2 small children through as adults, because overbuying for them is surely okay (?)

I did find it very arduous trying to get a simple list of which attractions are included, and then had to get the tickets under 4 different email accounts. And only £2 lottery tickets worked (so it didn’t accept the codes of more expensive lottery tickets). But a bargain is a bargain Smile x

CeeceeBloomingdale · 16/10/2021 07:25

The lottery deal did say one offer voucher per person (which I took to mean adult as only they are eligible to buy lottery tickets) so not sure using many different email addresses for individual tickets for the full family to attend on the same day will be accepted. I will probably use mine on 2 adult and 2 child tickets all on the same booking with one voucher if it lets me and pay the top up as I'm looking at a cheaper attraction.
