Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

Hi I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned but QVC are doing their hotel chocolat special value deal on the 16th of October. Think it’s the velvetiser but unsure on the price as yet. Good value last year if I recall.

Puffalicious · 11/10/2021 23:57

Scout2016 but sometimes we need beautiful things we wouldn't buy ourselves for that life we dream of! I'm in Scotland- doesn't make me love suede shoes any lessGrin

Puffalicious · 12/10/2021 00:28

TheGriffle thanks for the hoodie recommendation. Have ordered 2.

PizzaCrust · 12/10/2021 01:20

Thanks for the F bags heads up! Bought myself the Benny backpack (made the mistake last Christmas of getting a beautiful Fossil cross body bag… but I never wear it because I feel like it gets in the way too much day to day and I’m definitely team backpack), and DM the Chelsea grab bag in black for Christmas. It looks very classic and roomy without being massive so I think it’ll suit her down to the ground.

I only went on this thread for a browse but it looks like I’ll be going through it now for other bargains 😅

bizzey · 12/10/2021 01:36

@PizzaCrust you will be needing a second mortgage the rate this thread is going !!

badmarciathemarsha · 12/10/2021 05:56

@tabbycat985 we have a soda stream and use it every day for sparkling water. Went for the non electric one as you can put it anywhere in the kitchen and have less parts that could break. We purchased a deal with extra water bottles about three years ago, so can always have some cool water in the fridge. A family member just bought a bundle off the website but the kombucha syrup tastes awful as far as I am concerned. We looked at just buying the unit and looking for deals on spare bottles but the bundle worked out the best value even with poison syrup.

Saintemllionsfinest · 12/10/2021 06:02

I bought an F bag last night for my DD and just been back on for a backpack for my DSD Grin trying to restrain myself now!

QOD · 12/10/2021 06:12

You will struggle parting with the contents !
The boxes are hard to open I found[/quote]
Why didn’t i order 2 of eachhhhh … 😂

Dolphintrainer · 12/10/2021 06:16

@tabbycat985 We have had the soda stream for 3 yrs come this Black Friday. My husband and I use it for sparkling water which we drink all day. For the canisters we signed up to a plan on the sofa stream website where you get 12 refills per year for a flat price. No subscription, when you’ve used those 12 we just sign up again for the next 12, even though we get through them in about 9 months. Works out a bit cheaper than getting a refill in somewhere like Argos which I was doing before.
In terms of syrup, I tried the Dr Pepper looky-likey but I find adding it makes it go flatter so we stuck with just water now. Anyone else found that with the syrups?

mummyof2boys30 · 12/10/2021 06:40

I've just bought myself a bag, purse, card holder and my mum a card holder to give along with her trip to London 😂💳 bargain prices mind

mamabluestar · 12/10/2021 06:43

Just a heads up - I signed up to the Baked In emails at the weekend (considering getting a subscription for DD).

I've had an email to say the price of new subscriptions will be going up at the end of October but here's a code (email specific) to get your 1st one for £3.99

mamabluestar · 12/10/2021 06:47

I presume it's email specific as I entered the code before my email and it wouldn't accept it.

The code is SUBSCRIBE399 if anyone wants to try it

Good morning!

Dd has fallen a bit in love with the new range of Gruffalo clothes at Joules but I can’t bear to spend £30+ on a single item of clothing for a 3 year old. Has anyone seen any gruffalo things somewhere cheaper or got a way of making Joules stuff more bargainous? Also interested in general gruffalo toys / merchandise.

Other than that, she’s asking Santa for a tea set so any recommendations for a lovely toy tea set also gratefully received!

I have actually been looking as my current crossover strap is half sheered through.... and if I give it to the kids it can be a Christmas present 😉

NightOwl19 · 12/10/2021 07:34

@Tightsonmyboat

lego

This 221 Lego set with storage box in the shape of a brick comes down to £7.50 when you apply the voucher that's available, just tick the box under the price Smile

This is still £7.50 in case anyone has missed
NightOwl19 · 12/10/2021 07:37

For anyone looking at the baking club as someone previously mentioned, I just registered my interest and they sent me and email with a code for my first box for £5 for new subscribers only the code is SIGNUPNOW5 I'm going to get one for me and DD to try and if she enjoys it keep the subscription going

PoirotAndHisMoustache · 12/10/2021 07:38

@Puffalicious it was me who mentioned OddBalls. I think they are so cool. They were started by a former Newcastle united goalkeeper and Newcastle Falcons rugby player and 10% off all sales go to testicular cancer charities!

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 12/10/2021 07:43

Fisher Price Laugh and Learn On The Go Camper is reduced from £74.99 to £44.99 on Amazon if anyone is looking for a substantial looking gift for toddlers.

clpsmum · 12/10/2021 07:44

@IDontDrinkTea I think Sainsbury's sell gruffalo themed clothes

southcarolina · 12/10/2021 07:45

It's boots £10 Tuesday, nothing exciting this week but could be worth a look.

Christmasmcchristmasface · 12/10/2021 07:50
