Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

If you use Amazon, search 'cold weather sets' there is quite a selection.

Sorry, I think I missed the Nike deal, what was the offer? Dd wants and loves their socks! So any deals appreciated

MerylSqueak · 10/10/2021 08:52

@bizzey
Another vote for Tension, we like it and played a LOT via zoom in lockdown.
Also another game that we played a lot around then is Herd Mentality, can be very funny

@AngusThermopyle what a find, off to search now, thank you!

VikingNorthUtsire · 10/10/2021 09:06

I've also done a Rex London order, thank you for that tip. Lovely stocking filler bits plus I got a matching wash bag and water bottle in a funky retro print for my friend's daughter, and some retro cycling mugs for DSis and BIL (will pair with some posh coffee, brought my total spend up to £30 so free delivery)

Wolfcub · 10/10/2021 09:12

Has anyone seen any good reusable pods for a nespresso machine?

DockOTheBay · 10/10/2021 09:21

I don't know if anyone has bought from Jeff Puzzle but they have hefty discounts in a "closing down" sale and the puzzles looks gorgeous

VaprousDropProfound · 10/10/2021 09:21

@NoWordForFluffy

I've forwarded the code onto *@MyrealnameisBernard*. Hopefully it's arrived Ok! Xmas Grin
Could you buy 2 more. 1 random one and an ‘M’ and cut out the initial and sew it upside down on the other one. A bit of a faff, but might work if you are that keen.
VaprousDropProfound · 10/10/2021 09:23

Ignore that quoted wrong message, it was for the B and M lady with the W shortage. You can tell I haven’t posted in a long time.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 10/10/2021 09:23

@Purpleheadgirl

Those that previously ordered the diamond painting set from Amazon, both the owl and the tree now have 50% voucher available again
Is the diamond painting the craft where you stick sequins on?

Just had a look and they look lovely. But I googled and it looks like it might be too good to be true. www.scam-detector.com/validator/jeffpuzzle-com-review/

@1AngelicFruitCake

How about these from Matalan, I got them last year as I could order them and didn't need to chase around every B&M looking for initials, last year they were a little different and £10, the price seems to have increased by £2 this year Hmm

@DockOTheBay, I've done a few and would say late teen+. You need a very steady hand, a keen eye and good concentration!

The diamonds are very small and need to be loaded individually on to the glue pen and put in place on the picture, they can be tricky to move once on so you need to be fast.

Pawpawpaws · 10/10/2021 09:45

Thanks for all the bargains and ideas, I’m a bit late joining this year due to being ill but I’m now going to enjoy my Xmas prep and shopping time wasting Grin
If anyone has any spare Argos codes for a £30 spend I would be so grateful, what I want to get DN is above budget at mo but I think they’d love it!

Thank you, probably not suitable then, more of an adult gift. I bought one for myself to try anyway Grin

SpamIAm · 10/10/2021 09:50

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss it's little rhinestone type things, like the sort of thing that would have been used in nail art back in the day, rather than sequins.

JanuaryEl5ieBill · 10/10/2021 10:08

DD's hooded beach towel is now too small so looking for a new one. Would a Next version of the oodie work do you think? Don't fancy braving the city to go to the big primary!

Moonshine5 · 10/10/2021 10:12

@IAmSantaOhYesIAm
Just the thing to brighten up a day! 😊
I picked up a virtually identical pink hat in H&M on Tuesday it's a pop of brightness!

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 10/10/2021 10:22

@bizzey

Massive massive ...out there request ...but this thread is so addictive ...and I feel like I am with friends.((shopping addictive time wasters !)

But what is the weather like in Pennsylvania USA in January onwards ?
The bobble hat requests have got me thinking.
DS will be off soon ...and err might need some warm stuff ?

@bizzey I spent about 15 years in Pennsylvania and it gets pretty cold, lots of snow in the winter usually. It's a big state and there are some mountains as well so weather can vary, but a hat is a good shout for winter!
nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 10/10/2021 10:40

I agree the matalan sacks are lovely. I bought them last year as I dont live near a b&m. Very nice quality was very happy for £10 as we can use for years.

We use instead of a stocking in the morning. Fits the knick knacks, food bits and their main wish from santa (usually!).

ButtonMoonLoon · 10/10/2021 10:42

Just a little note about the owl rhinestone things- I had intended one for my 10 year old and one for 8 year old niece so bought two, and now they’ve arrived I think they are far too fiddly for either of them. Much better suited to a patient teenager or adult.
They are absolutely lovely though, if anyone wants to buy either of mine drop me a pm otherwise I’ll probably add to our Womens Aid reverse advent box!
