@AnotherOne4, thank you for introducing us to something that sounded so wrong in the thread title. Also loved the review you shared:
‘ Not only is it decorative, but also quite heavy. If you had intruders you could take them down with this also. Multipurpose’

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

I've just been into Sainsbury's and they did have Quality Street in tins as well as the (horrible) plastic tubs but a lot more expensive. That said,y DH bought be one of the Emma Bridgewater tins of Roses last year and I still use it as a cake tin. That was from B&M.

purplediva · 25/09/2021 11:58

Mr Tubs on amazon has another offer (was offer last week for different set)
This set is two cans flavoured lager and three tubs pork scratching at £7.99 (33% off) says gluten free too - just search Mr Tubs on Amazon

Have got the select your own- but postage makes it £18 for the personalised tin

WisestIsShe · 25/09/2021 12:11

Does anyone know anything at all about gaming pcs? DD wants one as a joint birthday/Christmas present. Budget approx £1000 (yes, I know it's a ridiculous amount). DH works at Argos so we get a discount there. I'm looking at this one because it's in budget and has a reasonable amount of ram, SSD and HDD. I googled the graphics card and it seems good. But it's a huge amount of money for us and I definitely want it to be right. Any opinions please?

PhantomErik · 25/09/2021 12:19

Vebrithien I'm sure I saw large tins of Quality Street in Farmfoods last week. Not sure how much they were though sorry.

Twilightstarbright · 25/09/2021 12:23

Was someone looking for a migraine mask?
mask

TK Maxx makeup online is very good- MAC lipsticks for £7.99, Huda, Bobbi Brown as well.

Raindancer411 · 25/09/2021 12:24

I asked my other half and he said it's an ok entry level but wouldn't want a lower graphics card. He said if it was any lower he wouldn't call it a gaming PC. He built himself one and the graphics card alone was 500! @WisestIsShe

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight and @psuedocream3 Thank you both

PostPopper · 25/09/2021 12:28

@OhThatChicken

Has anyone got any Lakeland voucher codes or info about sales please? Have my eye on a couple of gifty bits but also need to buy a heated airer so thinking about going for it all now.
@ohThatChicken I have £5 off £30 if that’s any good?

Sorry I used the £10 off £50 that came with it myself!!

VolcanicProtectorMan · 25/09/2021 12:46

@WisestIsShe I also asked my DH and he wasn’t that impressed either, but it entirely depends on what games they are going to play. There is a website Can you run it where you can search for and click on a game they may want to play on it and it tells you the minimum requirements needed. Maybe that could be a start?

WisestIsShe · 25/09/2021 12:49

Thanks @Raindancer411 yes the price of graphics cards atm is massive. Does he think we need to spend more? Shock because can do if necessary. It's so long since I took an interest in tech I'm really out of touch.

WisestIsShe · 25/09/2021 12:50

@VolcanicProtectorMan ok, thanks. I had a feeling that even with the staff discount we'd be better buying from a specialist company. Any suggestions?

Raindancer411 · 25/09/2021 12:53

@WisestIsShe I shall ask him if there are any good deals on a better machine and see what he comes up with

happytobemrsg · 25/09/2021 12:54

I’m so annoyed at myself. I’ve ordered my Christmas (& special Father Christmas) wrapping paper from Next & didn’t receive the collection email properly as I went all the way there & only half the order was ready. So frustrating.

Picked up the My First Car Lego set for DS2 from Argos as mentioned in last thread - looks fab, thank you.

DS has been invited to his first school birthday party. It’s for a 6 year old boy, his mum says he likes colouring & drawing (the complete opposite of my DS). Any ideas?? I usually get a joke book for £5 so have another £10ish to spend.

itsonlysubterfuge · 25/09/2021 12:57

@wiseitisshe we use ukgamingcomputers and they are absolutely fab. You'll be able to get an amazing pc for that budget. If you aren't sure what to get their customer service is top notch, you can tell them your budget, what kind of games he plays and what he wants it for and they will recommend the best and cheapest he needs. I really can't recommend them highly enough. It's a very good deal for a custom built PC.

@WisestIsShe I'm sorry I butchered your username Blush

WisestIsShe · 25/09/2021 13:07

@itsonlysubterfuge thanks for that link, I'll have a look now. No worries about the user name.

Scout2016 · 25/09/2021 13:11

@happytobemrsg I'd probably try the works, maybe one of those scratch off the black stuff and reveal colours underneath books? They have good colouring books sometimes too, some of the ones in the adult section are of topics kids would like too.
I'm curious what joke book you get? My 5 year old is getting into jokes.

MahMahMahMahCorona · 25/09/2021 13:18

I have been following these fantastic threads since July when they started out with nutcracker diffusers, Christmas tree tins of tea lights and Brussels sprouts ketchup. All of which I have in my drawers. Seeing the prices of each item today I'm pleased that I bought in bulk. All (wider) family members are now sorted.

Now I need to think for DC11 & DC10 - stockings and main presents. They are Pokémon MAD so I bought four booster packs from ALDI when they were discussed on these threads a couple of weeks back. Also have four bottles of child's farm coming and will add toothpaste / brush heads / pants / socks to stockings.

Any ideas for big tree presents / stocking fillers would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Duvetflower · 25/09/2021 13:21

Vintage quality street tins you could refill each year

I’ll check out the works thank you. I’ve got this one for my DS5 from Father Christmas this year but with buy the 6 year olds version for his friend (a photo as I’m rubbish at links!)

VolcanicProtectorMan · 25/09/2021 13:40

@WisestIsShe DH built his own from various parts but he has used Cyberpower UK and PC Specialist before and had good service from them. Cyberpower has an ‘Unsure what to buy’ link where you can put in your budget, games they want to play and brands you like and they suggest some.

psuedocream3 · 25/09/2021 13:40

@happytobemrsg Are these joke books any good? My soon to be 8 year old loves jokes and was looking at these ones but you cant see any examples of the jokes online to see whether they are any good?

hahahayoumustbejoking · 25/09/2021 13:40
@hahahayoumustbejoking

this may be of interest - predicts Black Friday deals on it - special bundles etc. even if not discounts as such. May be worth waiting to see.
Oooh thank you

Trying that too

Billyandemily · 25/09/2021 13:42

Hi was there a Halford discount code? Want to get my son a bike for Christmas.
