Harry potter gift ideas wanted

DS (8) is harry potter mad this year and I'm looking to capitalise on this for his presents. Any ideas of cool or unusual Hogwards / Harry Potter themed gifts? I had half thought of buying a small trunk and filling it with gifts but then saw the price of them (and the disclaimer that they weren't very strong).

So we have all the books, DVDs, the snitch toy from Aldi (a bit rubbish), Voldemort's wand and robe, plus HP robes, we've tried bertie botts every flavour beans (truly vile), HP scrabble ... any other ideas?? Oh yes and DS has lots of HP lego (Hagrid's hut is on the list as we haven't got that)

The Lego Hedwig is fantastic for the price I agree. Oh now wondering if I can find a huge snake soft toy for Nagini ... DS had his eye on an orange monstrosity in the toy shop

And off to Primark on Sat

IKEA do a great big snake soft toy. And it's in proper snake colours.

Yes was wondering about the studio tour but we are in Scotland so not the easiest ...

Dd1 has enjoyed hp themed gifts that aren't officially from a ho range e.g. a crystal ball (it's a glass ball on a stand), potion bottles, snake or owl toys etc.

Hp bedding went down well too, as did a hp joke book.

DD was given a Hufflepuff scarf and gloves and absolutely loves them. The scarf looks like the ones in the movies. And HP Dobble is a definite winner 😊

H&M have a lovely selection of HP clothes. Colouring in books, school bag, pencil case, stationery, notebook, bedding.
Pjs and dressing gown.
Things to do in Edinburgh since your in Scotland, the potter tour, the shop and I think there is escape rooms based on Harry Potter as well.

You could also try etsy for HP themed items.

The Marauder's map heat changing mug is good.

I got DS a welcome to Hogwarts letter from Etsy. It was very well done on parchment paper and he really liked it.

A Hedwig soft toy?

You used to be able to get a wand that was a TV remote, you programme it to respond to certain movements. Not sure if you can still get them but I think that would be a lot of fun!

Depending where you live you could consider a day out to York where there is a HP themed crazy golf

And you could go to the railway museum where there are various trains very similar to the hogwarts stream train to round your day off

I’ve been trying to think of the things my boys enjoyed - most things have been mentioned!

They loved their time turner necklace though and also, cheaply from ebay, a felix felicis pendant was a hit.

These little boxes were surprisingly good value

There is a pop up book on Amazon that I got my (adult) sister and out was the best present she ever reviewed apparently! I can't link on my phone so I will attach a photo. It really was impressive, especially as it was on sale.

Hi all you don’t mind if I placemark myself here - some lovely present ideas

The HP potter obsession at this age really does make gifting easy . I think it's individual but my 8 year olds favourite is the dressing up robes and accessories, and the letter writing sets. She's had a few and always writing herself letters. She's asked for yet another top up letter writing set for christmas. I've also got her a hogwarts satchel and quill pen. She had the Tom Marvello diary with UV pen and loves that, there is a Marauders Map one too. Her friends are really into the Lego but she's not really keen, she doesn't really have the patience. I'm tempted with the Magical Minis castle and playset but I think she's just more into role play and the books than small world play. She loves the Harry Potter Dobble too, and she had asked for the talking Sorting Hat for Christmas. She also has a couple of Wow pods (wall lights) with Harry Potter characters and has asked for the other ones, I think Aldi stock them. Stocking fillers are really easy, as everywhere has stationary and bath bombs and keyrings and socks etc at this time of year.

One year Dd asked for a wax seal set , I also bought her some parchment and a quill and ink set (Only use the ink under adult supervision as it can go everywhere).
