@winewolfhowls

Can anyone recommend chocolate or treats for newly diagnosed diabetic relative? I can remember on previous threads people mentioning that many brands were not that nice
It depends if they are type 1 or type 2. But do stay away from anything labelled diabetic as it tends to have a laxative effect. I’m type 2 and I stick too dark chocolate I like 85% Green & Blacks, Lindt and Moser Roth (Aldi). Type 1s can adjust their insulin to account for the treat.

If anyone is looking to buy a LOL Doll there is one reduced to £16 on Amazon. We bought a very similar for my niece for last month for £30

DoucheCanoe · 19/09/2021 12:39

@Christmastest thanks for that link. I've just spent £20 on 2 sets of XS, S, M & L gift bags for DC Grin

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 19/09/2021 12:43

I've got the Rex London retro Christmas gift bags and also the matching tissue paper. My plan is to scrunch wrap with the tissue paper and shove in the bags.

My DCs have a variety of sacks we've accumulated over the years so they'll have those.

Easy wrapping all round!

Just been to The Range and took some pictures for Mumsnet of the stocking selection Wink

Neon Sheep have a couple of exercise things in their sale, might be useful to those doing a hamper with the towels. They also do nice stationary.

Next must be making room for Christmas stock as I’ve just booked a VIP sale slot.

Buns are back down in price.

Tigger83 · 19/09/2021 12:53

If anyone see's a W sack please can you let me know!!!

Councillorbrian · 19/09/2021 12:55

Has anyone seen a nice line a day diary at a decent price?

spudjulia · 19/09/2021 12:57

@NoWordForFluffy

Does anybody else call them tomte instead of gonk? Gonk is something else for me!

The Range has some tomte / gonks too!

Not Tomte and this is the first time I've ever seen them called gonks! In our house they're Nisse.
sittingonacornflake · 19/09/2021 12:57

@IggyAce thank you for the buns heads up. Grabbed another. Now I will have 2. Yippee.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 13:01

Ooh, @spudjulia, apparently they can also be called tomtenisse! Xmas Grin

Fab, I missed them last year, this year I have 4 boxes 😂.
One box is going to be part of a baking hamper for siblings, the other 3 will probably be eaten by us.

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight Just in case you didn’t know, Next has started doing Bath and Bodyworks in the U.K. I literally got so giddy when I first saw it because, with no-one I know travelling to the US because of the apocalypse, my stores of all my favourites have run down.

Bicnod · 19/09/2021 13:08
@Bicnod, we got this one last year which is rather cute!
Thank you 😊

sittingonacornflake · 19/09/2021 13:11

@IggyAce I'd never heard of them before stumbling upon this absolute dream of a thread this year. Can't believe I've missed these threads previously. I'm thinking Christmas Day breakfast of buns could be in order, if it is possible to do some element of prep the night before

cheeseaholic · 19/09/2021 13:11
@cheeseaholic where in Lidl were the mug cakes please? Didn't see any when I was just in but wasn't really looking for them either 😅
@TheCrow They were in an aiske with other random branded items towards the end, i've attached a pic in case it helps!

Thank you. I’m off to search Amazon x

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 19/09/2021 13:15

Thanks for cinnamon roll and bread themed gifts! Going to keep an eye on next for bath and bodyworks and a jellycat cuddly! She has a bag already from shein last year and isn't into jewellery, shes very tom boyish and wouldn't wear it. They are very cute earrings though!

Thank you for the personalised uno, perfect gift for my sister and her boyfriend as we are just exchanging small token gifts this year. If anyone has seen other personalised games please let me know as would like one for my mum and fiancée. Their favourite game is scrabble!

And gutted missed uno showdown again, dd1 has asked for this after playing at a friend's. Also looking for bop it if anyone has seen it cheap?

cheeseaholic · 19/09/2021 13:17

For anyone who likes natural type skincare these make lovely gifts - I love the lip balms! hummbalm.com

Also had my Next VIP sale slot this morning - beauty products have some good reductions.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 13:22

Lego ice cream truck back down to £8.00.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 19/09/2021 13:26

@OhThatChicken yes I did know, saw it on the b&bw facebook fan page - they have made a bit of a balls up of it all though, haven’t they? I do hope they get the seasonal ranges!

ElephantandGrasshopper · 19/09/2021 13:26

@changingstages

Was doing well with Xmas shopping - DDs birthday is 2 days before too so need to be organised! But she has decided what she would like for her big present: Oculus Quest VR thing. Which is almost certainly out of our budget but if anyone has any great ideas for finding one cheaper I'd be very grateful...
How old is your dd? The oculus isn't recommended for children under a certain age (12 I think) because it is bad for their developing eyesight. We have one and it is brilliant for adults, but I only let my children use it very occasionally.

If you do decide to get one it might be the sort of thing that is reduced for black Friday?

lexloofah · 19/09/2021 13:35

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the makeup replies. Just what I needed as I had no idea even on which brands, must make a habit of looking out for them now. Revolution looks just the ticket with some little brushes etc. and I will check out the other too, quite a handy theme for gifting each b day and Christmas from now on. I was so clueless I had to look at what lip oil is, when did that become a thing?

Landsend have yet another sale of 40% off, not much Christmas stuff in yet but maybe someone is looking for pjs, dressing gowns, winter coat, might be handy
